i think about her all the time.

looking at pictures of my grandma in the early 70s and getting melancholic bc she is genuinely the kindest, most loving and nurturing person on the planet and seeing her in her early twenties, smiling and vibrant and lovely, knowing that the day she married my grandpa she got stuck in a very emotionally abusive situation that'd fuck her up even after his death, getting stuck in a limbo where she's never really lived for herself but just to serve a husband who never appreciated her enough, to raise children just for my uncle to never visit, it kind of breaks my heart. She had the whole world in her hands but she never embraced it. Three generations, probably more of women growing up to become people pleasers, it's breaking my heart. She looked just like my mother when she was twenty. She looked just like me.
