Normally I like to keep out of the fray when it comes to fandom politics, however I feel I need to somewhat toss a reminder out:
You can be a fan of a character and recognize that they are problematic and have done terrible, inexcusable things.
You can be a roleplayer of a character and recognize that they are problematic and have done terrible, inexcusable things.
This does NOT make you an apologist.
This does NOT make you a bad person.
Posts like the the first in the tags do nothing but place undeserved guilt onto fans and make them feel isolated and unwanted in the community. If you dislike a character that’s fine, if you want to talk about why you dislike said character on your blog that’s fine too. It’s your blog after all.
However please be respectful and refrain from tagging character hate in the main tags for a fandom.
Messages like the second are inexcusable. Do not send hateful wishes of death to people who enjoy or properly portray a problematic muse in role play, that is immature and uncalled for. You are not a white knight and you are not doing anyone any favors.
