// While I'm talking about thoughts and such have some thoughts I had while on vacation. Brought to you mostly by the fact I'm used to Stephen being Oliver who has like 90000 children.
But there being a verse where Brin actually belongs to Jack. The result of a high school relationship. Duffy's a small town. People talk. The girl wanted to give the baby up but Jack's parents agreed to take her. Raise her. No one had to know.
But once Tom dies...and Brin starts to want to be a more active participant in the DWL...well...how long can Jack stay silent?

Mike O'Malley is so damn good on this show. I both love and hate Gulley.
The Brin vs Crystal match at this event would have been FIRE.
WAIT. WHAT??? This turn is both amazing and VERY upsetting.

Brin is okay not being on basement duty, thanks.
The fuck is up with Bill's lectures. Brin is both shaking her head and laughing into Crystal's shoulder.
Brin is very much looking forward to doing more intense social media work. Yay streaming!
I do love Willie's speech about being a woman.
Brin is sorry, Ace, but she too would laugh.
I love the whole family style dinner at the arena. Like that is what the DWL is about and nothing makes Brin happier than those moments.
ACE! Your sister wears crop tops all the time. Why are you acting like you have never seen one before?

Jack's not wrong, that was definitely a top five moment. And Brin does feel bad for keeping it from everyone but LOOK AT THE REACTIONS. C'mon...
Are we sure we want Ace watching the baby? Just saying...
"Isn't that what Batman says?" "I taught it to Batman." OMG. But okay. So that means that DC comics obviously exists in the world of Heels. Does the Arrowverse? Cause if so, Brin is just following Ace around going "You have failed this arena."
"Ace's Blair Witch Character". Brin would like to be in this meetings. Can she be in this meeting?
Also she would like to know if Jack is taking her input as well? Now that he's so open to input.
Brin and Crystal can hold tryouts. It's fine.

Brin has definitely gone to visit Crystal's mom with her.

"I'm not trying to be a Pollyanna." -- I love Stacey so much. Brin, however, does not think apologizing will fix anything. Gully's a douche. Sorry, Stace.
Okay but Jack using the fact Brin's joined up to try and convince Ace to come back. All 'now it can be the three of us' -- like he didn't fight tooth and nail to stop Brin from being involved.
Brin feels Crystal's frustration ten thousand percent. And I think it would be amplified because Brin and Crystal have a choreography that's tight. They've danced together for years. So the fact they struggle when others are added into the mix...
Brin wants to go to the meeting with Gully. Can she go to the meeting with Gully????
ROOSTER! Don't you DARE shit talk to DWL's social media. Brin is gonna punch YOU in the face!

Thoughts / Meta on Episode 2x03
"Please sounds better with cake." That is most definitely a lesson Brin has carried with her throughout life. And which is why she will occasionally show up with baked goods if she needs something.
This is another instance where I feel Brin had a very different experience than the boys.
OMG. ACE. DO NOT DIE.
Please tell me they ran this podcast through Brin. SHE NEEDS THEM TO HAVE RUN THIS PODCAST THROUGH HER.
"She has the belt, you do not." DAMN STRAIGHT.
She wants to be mad, but she can't. Cause shit talking Gully is her favorite. And he totally deserves it.
I need Crystal, Brin, and Willie just hanging out and writing scripts.
"Just know that secret admirer might also be a secret serial killer." How many times has Brin heard someone might be a serial killer?
Brin isn't going to say so in front of Willie, but she also wants to play Mario Kart on the video wall.

Why is Jack sleeping on the couch? Isn't he at HIS house???
So I honestly forgot Jack had another job outside the DWL. Ooops.
Brin loves her sister-in-law. So much.
"You banged Constance, the fair commissioner???" I absolutely need Brin to overhear this conversation. Cause she and Willie talking about it.
Ace! This is not how you make friends.
If Crystal ends up marrying Bobby, Brin better be maid of honor. Just saying.
FUCK GULLY. Brin would have posted SCATHING replies to every single one of his videos.
Brin does agree with Willie on the needing something to promote. Though she has already made a plan highlighting Crystal. She just needs Jack to sign off on it.
Brin has answers. She knows how to explain it. How to move forward. JUST ASK HER, JACK.
I also forgot about "the Dad". OMG.
Good boy, Jack. Had he not thanked Crystal, Brin would have PUNCHED HIM IN THE FACE. She is also very proud of him for apologizing.

Thoughts/Meta on Episode 2x01
I do appreciate Starz putting warnings in front of these episodes. The subject isn't triggering for me, personally, but I know it can be for others. Plus, it lets me know that whatever is discussed in this episode is probably going to traumatize my poor muse more than a little.
Mun note: I still love the opening credits. So so much.
So it looks like we pick up directly after the match. I think Brin would have tried to talk to Ace inside...before his storm out to the car. But when it was clear he wanted to go, well...then she's back inside and jumping up and down with Crystal cause HELL YEAH!!! Plus this very public win means she might now actually have a chance. Cause Jack can't deny how well Crystal did. And hello? The story writes itself. Little Sister coming in to avenge her brothers and take back the belt.
Oh Gully. GULLY NO. Brin is gonna be COMING FOR YOU. We don't talk shit about women and ESPECIALLY CRYSTAL on her watch. Brin would have a social media response posted before the night was over.
Jack's face when Connie and Bill are semi flirting with each other... Brin is like "Same, Bro. Same."
Crystal trying out her poses in the mirror. Stoooop. It's too cute. Brin is so proud of her bestie.
Trigger warning for this bit...cause Jack arrives to find their dad and then Ace outside the house...I'm guessing Brin would have been sitting on the lawn with Ace, not so much in shock like Ace is but hysterically bawling. Like the first thing he probably would have heard when he got out of the car was his little sister crying. She'd immediately want to go to him but I'm sure Jack would tell Ace to keep her back...so he could see for himself what happened. Cover up their dad. Kind of like once their mom got home.
And then the funeral. Brin doing the dirt thing along with her brothers and the others.
Like Ace, Brin would have been hiding during the reception at the Arena. But she would have been hiding in the office. Where she could just ignore it all. Crystal probably checking on her from time to time. Bringing her food and such as she "made the rounds".
I am very much appreciating the amount of backstory we're getting in this episode. Though OMG Barbara, how many times in one sentence are you trying to work in the name Duffy???
So Jack met Stacey in college. The sort of college that had Greek Life. So yeah. Probably didn't take well to Brin being like fuck going to a 4 year University, I'll do community college and stay in Duffy to help with the DWL. There was most definitely a fight.
Tiny Brin ABSOLUTELY took advantage of the free ice cream.
I love Willie but Jack has EVERY right to be bitter about what happened.
IS JACK COMPLAINING ABOUT PEOPLE NOT LISTENING TO HIS INPUT AND STORY IDEAS??? REALLY???? It might be part of the flashback, but let me tell you...Brin is very much looking at the camera like she is on the office right now. Cause YEAH. SUCKS, JACK, DOESN'T IT???
So Jack wanted Ace involved...BRIN IS FEELING VERY LEFT OUT RIGHT NOW. She would also like a different memory. Thanks.
Brin would be JUST BARELY holding it together during Willie's speech. And most likely would have sat with Willie during the match.
Fuck I love Crystal.
Brin wants to go rock jumping at the Quarry. Did anyone take her???
Ace executing his dad's move and everyone getting choked up about it. MY HEART. I do think Crystal would have moved through the crowd during the King Spade chanting after to get to Brin. Cause girl is gonna need a hug.
I really do appreciate that like 90% of this episode was backstory.
Their mom supporting Ace's leaving...now if she could just get her daughter to do the same...

Technically, wasn’t what happened with Ace like 80% his fault? He was a dick so Ace was a dick and then it all escalated? So all he had to do was not be a dick and then that wouldn’t happen with Brin. It was kind of simple, really.
And yet...
“But if you’d just give me a chance! At least let me show you what I can do...”
Jack listened to her and pinched the bridge of his nose, taking a second to breathe in then back out. He should’ve gotten the coffee and the aspirin first. Part of him agreed with her; the story would practically write itself with the youngest member coming in to take back what’s theirs.
Yet that was the part that had caused their brother and Staci to both be pissed at him.
Plus he’d already seen what being a part of the business, being out there in the ring had done to Ace. How could he in good conscious risk it happening again to his baby sister?

Yeeeah, she still hid it cause well...old habits died hard. But chances were if he ever really tried to call her out on it, she’d give him shit. Because of the can in his pocket. And the fact she knew for a fact a lot of people they knew did a lot more dangerous shit.
And she wasn’t talking about the wrestling.
“I don’t like a lot of shit you do, so guess that makes us even.” She took another hit, inhaling the sweet smelling smoke. “It’s Crystal and I. We’ve been working out routines on her trampoline for years. We got this. You just need to stay out of our way.”
The vape caught his attention for a moment but he let it go; it was hard to lecture her on the dangers there when he had a can in his pocket. And in their world, it was the least damage she could do.
Jack sighed. “I still don’t like it; I don’t want you gettin’ hurt. But if the two of you can do this and stay safe…then I’ll give it a shot.“

She fingered the vape in her pocket, itching to take it back out. She knew it wasn’t a big deal -- that both Jack and Ace chewed tobacco, but somehow she still got self conscious about smoking in front of Jack.
“You mean the same thing I told you after Crystal won the belt? That I’ve been telling you for weeks? Glad to know when someone else says it, you actually listen...” She reached in her pocket and pulled out the device, taking a long pull off of it.
Yes, yes it was but he wouldn’t say that to Willie. He simply gave her a look instead to let her know he did not enjoy agreeing to talk to his baby sister but he would get it done for the sake of the league. Leaving her to deal with anything the boys may come up with before they leave, he found Brin leaning against the car.
Leaning beside her, Jack crossed his arms over his chest. “Willie thinks it’d be a good idea to get somethin’ going between you and Crystal on social media. Let the story build…”

Open Starter || Open to All
Having never really been outside of Duffy (except for the occassional visit to a relative or an away match for the Dome) and definitely having never been to someplace like Los Angeles, Brin was determined to make the most of it. Explore a little. Experience all the things ‘West Coast Living’ had to offer.
They didn’t have anything scheduled til the next day. Couldn’t even set up until morning. And so, as soon as she and Crystal had dropped their bags in their room and Crystal had gone off to meet Bobby (who also wanted to explore), Brin grabbed her room key and headed for the door.
Time to have some fun...

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Brin does not get the whole chewing tobacco thing. She just...doesn’t like it. She prefers to smoke -- or more accurately, vape. Her current favorites are: red mojito, kiwi passionfruit guava, and strawberry pina colada.

Thankfully, Brin had yet to leave and was instead, leaning against the car and taking a hit off her vape (Red Mojito, her preferred flavor). Though the minute she saw Jack approach, it got shoved in her pocket. “What do you want?”
