Nifty news alert!
A couple weeks ago the lovely people who work at YouTube reached out to me and asked if I’d be “okay with it” if they screened a clip from I Ship It at the Sundance Film Festival before the narrative shorts program and would I like to go to their Sundance filmmakers reception? Hahaha #weeping, I laugh-cried, thinking it was a cruel spambot joke and then looked up their e-mail addresses and realized wait whatWHATWHAT they were really real.
For those of you who might not know, the Sundance Institute is arguably one of the pillars of the indie film industry in the USA/world, and it’s the not-so-secret dream of many a young film student/me to one day screen there as an official selection.
They’ll be screening a clip of I Ship It as part of a presentation by YouTube before the official narrative shorts premiere, highlighting work they feel is representative of the potential for indie film on YouTube. I’m told it may also be showing before other screenings of the narrative shorts program throughout the festival as YouTube is partnering with the Sundance shorts fest, so if you happen to be attending Sundance this year and spot our clip, please please let me know! In any case, it will for sure be showing on premiere night January 22nd at 8:30pm in the Egyptian Theater. I’ll also be in Park City from January 22nd - 27th for my first ever Sundance experience, and I’m super excited. If you’re going/have gone in the past, lemme know what to expect/what to wear!
So yay! Not quite an official Sundance selection, but I’m incredibly proud of our team anyway. We are a scrappy bunch of indie filmmakers and our work made it to a screen at Sundance and that is not a shabby way to kick off 2015.
Much love,

I Ship It | Behind the Scenes
From start to finish, this is how we made I Ship It happen! I’m also releasing a deleted scene, which I’ll make a commentary post about at some point… eventually.
In case you missed it…
I Ship It is a short film about Zoe, a girl going through a bad break up who decides to take down her ex-boyfriend in a wizard rock battle of the bands.
Hope you enjoy it!
Much love,
