guys jinwoo art class is so wholesome. the three kids are so cute and funny. their interactions are really so damn adorable i can't help but grin ear to ear whenever their scenes come up. the subtitles + doodles addition just perfect!!! and the new kids addition just makes everything better. I love them so much. Dare i say it's one of the best part of the show (beside jinwoo moeun and jinwoo kihyun relationship)

EP 7 - extremely charmed by how they decided to use the "asking foR a FRienD" trope to speed up the romance for the simple reason that instead of making it stupid/overly-complicated, and having the character mess it up somehow, tae-ha just... followed the advice given to him (and it worked lol)

he was told to "be straight-forward", and with it, he was also:

very quick

very precise

very unambiguous

very prepared

the Quickness™: literally the next scene we see him ready with a gift for my girl yeon-woo. no hesitation on what to get, no fumbling on what to do, straight-up "move, i know my wife"

the Exactness™ of it all: not only did he notice, but he remembered she is obsessed with choco-anything. full-on, "if yeon-woo-ssi was an exam i'd get 100/100." she would have loved the fancy box of chocolates, if he had managed to actually give it to her

the transparency: and just when you think it can't get any cuter, any better, he just straight up tells her he likes her (dimples making a quick appearance!). also he does buy her some chocolate after all. no ambiguous flopping around, no silly denial at the last minute. just a cute, dorky :] smile after telling her

he kept going???: the chocolate didn't really count so he went for another gift, just as thoughtful, if not better than the first. 100% sure he had a couple of other ideas in case this one didn't work out either. he was all cute with it too (dimples on full display, very dangerous)

idk, i liked that he wasn't disastrously awkward, that he didn't agonize over his feelings, wasn't accidentally offensive for comedic effect, or to maybe create superfluous conflict before they get together. just very satisfying to have the couple be aligned and on the same page, at the same time.

yeon-woo is just as worried, just as charmed by tae-ha as he is with her. it distilled just enough sweetness in this otherwise quite tense episode. there's only 12 episodes, angst will come (pretty soon too) but like, let us have some of that sweetness first.

ok guys another twinkling headcanon is that when eungyeol travel back he kinda walked through it while his parent memories rolled in, sort of like museum tour (or sort like that specific scene in interstellar ending). imagine how happy he is to see the glimpse of how yichan overcome his new state, how relentless cheongah is in supporting him, how both of his parent attend college together, granma attend graduation, how they love to bickering but also obviously so being in love, how they encourage each other, still bonding with watermelon sugar squad, get married, working hard, having eunho, and so on and eventually watching his own scene when he was born and celebrated, loved, cared. it must be rewarding for eungyeol to know of all his effort create such drastic change. and when he's back to present, all of his past memories erased, including when he's time traveled, and he only have memories of current timeline, the famous guitarist eungyeol where playing in band is now supported and encouraged.

(this idea born because mainly i still don't like the idea of how eungyeol need to be back when yichan just lost his hearing and it's because of saving him, i don't like how he just thrown to present without any memory of his second timeline while pretty much still process the chaos unfolding before, i hate how lost he look and how lonely he must be to shoulder those memories alone)

i have this headcanon about cheongah yichan first timeline, like they meet on sign language class and the one who teach them sign language is no other than jian (yes, my dearest jian from my mister). I imagine cheongah just runaway from her hellish house and begin to learn sign language. Yichan just lost his hearing and try to learn sign language after being devastated for months. Both of them are so lost and jian see herself in them.

So naturally, jian who already receive so much kindness from many, specifically mr donghoon, turn that kindness to yichan and cheongah. She guide them, motivated them, and eventually lead them closer. All thanks to Jian's guidance that cheongah can land herself a part time job and can communicate way much better and yichanㅡthat at the beginning skeptical about this whole affairㅡnow find his spirit and his cheerful self back. I imagine both yichan and cheongah adore and respect jian greatly, especially after knowing how much hardships she had endured to be where she is now. She's not only teaching them sign language, but also kindness and perseverance.

after watching final i now i wish the drama could spent half of yichan's youth when he's in his peak radiant moment and second half of him fighting and adapting for his new life as deaf person and i hope eungyeol present in both, like he could see how his dad enjoy youth and also see how much his dad struggling and he's there to learn how amazing his dad and mother is.

i hope he's there to have his shining youth along with his younger parents + eunyu, i hope he's there as a support and a witness in both of yichan and cheongah brightest and darkest moment. I hope eungyeol is there to learn, to reflect, to cry with them, to celebrate with them, to laugh with them, so when he is back to future, the changed future wouldn't confuse him so much. I hope he is back to the future not with tears and guilt but rather with excitement to see how his dad and mom upgraded version.

I hope eungyeol genuinely enjoy his trip without worrying anyone for a moment. I feel like eungyeol does not have a break at all, he's at constant worries, he's busy make sure yichan safe and he's busy fighting cheongah's abuser. Where is his supposed twinkling youth where he is no responsible for anyone but himself? Maybe yes writer make it he could enjoy it in present changed timeline where he could freely play music, but hello writer also just added new trauma for him!! Like first timeline he nearly killed eunho and second timeline he's the reason behind yichan's accident?? Like knowing his personality he will endlessly blame himself. And he has to leave to present timeline when supposedly yichan needs everyone's support the most? He has to leave without seeing how cheongah finally has good relationship with his father?? That's so unfair...

I feel most betrayed by yichan's deafness arc. The writer make eungyeol and eunyu need to be back right after the accident happened, by saying so their young parents can handle things on their own without them meddling from now on, but why can't they see it during their time travel? Why can't they see how their parents overcome their obstacles? It should be at this point that this time travel will teach them their best lessons. How their youth shining not only when they're laughing joyfully, but also when they could overcome the hardship.

Why can't we see a scene where Eungyeol support yichan? I know it will make seem Eungyeol being there just because he's responsible for yichan thus he can't have his own life again and shoulder the burden he shouldn't have all over again, but all i ask is eungyeol and basically everyone support yichan in his roughest time. Like just imagine eungyeol, eunyu, cheongah and watermelon boys give yichan endless support adjusting his new life at least just until he enrolled college. Just until Yichan can make a joke thru his hand sign. I know Yichan will get up fast. If only we get a glimpse of how yichan and cheongah work their hardest during college while reminiscing that's it's thanks to Eungyeol whom support and cheering for them the hardest. If eungyeol back to present after that, i know he could make a biggest smile and say as a matter of fact, see, i told you you could make it, right? The flashy ending then will feel earned. It will not feel like everything happened just because Cheongah's dad wealth fixed all of the problems.

I really think it's a crime how we didn't even get a single cheongah scene, not even a reaction when yichan become deaf. Come on, there's so many things to explore and i want to see it!! It's also a crime not to see watermelon boys visiting yichan. Why we have to see yichan go through of it alone?? My tears could form a river crying over yichan and his suicide attempt scene😭 where is anyone????

Also eunyu and sekyeong meet was hilarious and touching, but it was all for nothing! Where is present eunyu and sekyeong??? How's their life now?? How her trip change her current life?????

It started to piss me off that this drama is so focused on whole yichan chasing sekyung and eungyeol doing everything to blocked it shenanigans that it sacrifices so many other important scenes that could be explored better. Lack of cheongah scenes infuriates me to no end too.

But regardless the complain, i REALLY love twinkling watermelon😭😭 i cried and laugh so much, i love everyone adore everyone but most importantly i will sacrifice anything for cheongchan happiness. I complain a lot because i love and see the potential of how things could be handled better. Now TVN, where is their college days cut scenes?! Give it to me😭

cheongah finally brave enough to go against her abuser because she knows there's someone out there who genuinely care for her, listen to her, laugh with her. and knowing who exactly they are; yichan, eungyeol, eunyu, and the watermelon boys... esp the clueless watermelon boys who just recently try to communicate with her but give her so much strength already, I'm crying. she finally knows she isn't alone, not anymore.
