arthur making gilear the vice principal is so funny but all jokes aside, it's the perfect job for gilear. the position was created for kalvaxus so arthur has limited it so much. it has no responsibility, it has no powers, all you have to do is show up and let arthur dunk on you. that's in the job description. gilear's main skills include being dunked on and hanging out with his daughter, the only two things he can do at aguefort. he starts fucking up the moment he gets a task but this job was designed to illicit no tasks of importance whatsoever

One thing I really like about Fantasy High -- and honestly Dimension 20/Brennan characters in general -- is that even the good parents are not perfect. Sandralynn is easily frustrated, especially when Fig reminds her of herself. Jawbone doesn't always know how to back off and meet people where they're at. The Thistlesprings have terrible boundaries and are deeply uncomfortable with negative emotions. In Burrow's End, Tula is constantly grappling with the urge to limit her children's options due to her own fear.

The experience of having Good Parents isn't that you get your needs met perfectly 100% of the time -- it's the experience of having one or more deeply flawed adults doing their level best to do right by you in spite of whatever shit they have going on in their own lives and psyches. And that's beautiful in its own right.

Fig started the series as an only child with arguably one parent, she now has:

A bio dad

An adoptive dad

A step dad

A bio mom

A step mom

A 3rd mom that's not technically her mom but they do live in the same home and she does do motherly things for her

3 sisters

Between 1-4 brothers

Possibly another sibling on the way

And a girlfriend who may or may not be waiting for Fig and one of the aforementioned sisters to release her from a geocache

We aren't talking about the teacher reviews enough. We know that Jace Stardiamond is serving the evil rage god and (appears to be) the only faculty member to do so. The stress of FHJY is, at the moment, only affecting the students. You know who is more powerful than the students? The teachers. You know what would make teachers angry? Hearing how ungrateful their students are. A bunch of teens who don't know anything telling the teachers how they don't do their jobs properly? Teachers who dedicate their entire lives to helping these students, only to get a 2?! That would make anyone mad. And we've never seen the teacher evaluations before. I wonder who could have implemented those? Jace Stardiamond, the vice principal with limited administrative powers perhaps?
