My Buster Sword is finished, and I have no idea what to do with it.

The software I used was a long-outdated copy of PCStitch. The screencap was from FF7 International. The piece is 13"x13" and has... I don't even remember how many colors.

A month in, I realized the pattern was kind of ugly. But I'd put in so much work already, and it wouldn't take that long to finish, right? Since then, I have lived in six different places. Me of the past... just toss it and learn to skateboard or something!

I thought I would save a ton of time by stitching it onto black fabric, but the aida is lighter than the black thread. I painted it... Now it's still not dark enough, and there are visible paint streaks in the background. Whatever, I tried. 🤦‍♂️

Now that it's done, I'd like to return to my even older reevince project. That one's got baggage attached, but I need to finish it and let that minotaur out of the maze once and for all.

And it's such a weird little... I mean everyone playing this game already knows, so it's clear the first time around - but it's one of those lines that hits different when someone comes back to it with new information.

To Cloud and the others, Chadley's just bragging that he's a creation of Hojo's.

But to us, this could be a subtle acknowledgement of kinship that Cloud misses and Chadley doesn't expect a response to.

"You and I have both spent time on Hojo's table. We have so much in common, we might as well be able to read each other's thoughts."

Cait Sith's date is so funny and tragic.

One one hand, it's fucking hilarious to see Vincent snoring, Cid yawning, and Cloud being Cloud, while Cait Sith tries his hardest, then ultimately screams at them in a rage.

On the other hand, he's right - they really don't understand anything at all. He knows what's going to happen tomorrow, and he wants one last good time with the first real friends he's ever had in his life. In a matter of hours, they won't be his friends anymore.

And bonus round, who doesn't know that angry embarrassment of trying to have a good time with people who just don't give a shit. Halfhearted attempts at placating the baby and all... It's too real! 😂😭😅

Hot fandom discourse take but framing dark content as only being acceptable if its a vehicle for exploring personal trauma is just giving ground to the puritan segments of fandom.

Simply liking dark content for its own sake is perfectly fine.

About the AO3 "No Guest Comments for a while" warning

If you're not following any of AO3's social media accounts you might be in the dark as to what kind of "spam comments" have engendered this banner at the top of the site:

These spam comments have been posted about a great deal on the AO3 subreddit for the past couple of days. Initially they comprised a bunch of guest (logged out users) bot comments that insulted authors by suggesting they were using AI and not writing their own fics. Some examples, from the subreddit:

But it then escalated to outright graphic porn images and gifs being posted in comments, again by logged out 'Guest' accounts. Obviously, I'm not going to give examples of those, but between these two bot infestations, AO3 has clearly decided to act and has temporarily closed the ability to post comments for users who are not logged in with an AO3 account.

Unfortunately, this means that genuine readers who don't have an AO3 account won't be able to leave comments on fics that they enjoy.

If you are a genuine reader who doesn't yet have an AO3 account, I strongly suggest getting yourself on the waiting list for one. More and more AO3 authors are now locking their fics down to registered users only - either due to these bot comments or concerns about AI scraping their work - which means you're probably missing out on a lot of great stuff.

Hopefully guest commenting will be enabled again at some point soon, but I suggest not waiting until then. Get yourself on that list.

Wait times are going to be longer than usual at the moment, due to the current Wattpad purge [info on Fanlore | Wattpad subreddit thread], but if you're in line, then your invite will come through eventually.

Nearing the end of playthrough number two and going, "Huh, it sounds different this time. Oh god, which one was right?!" at a few lines here and there. I don't dislike that the localization exists, but I do wish there were more direct sub translations. That cat has a very thick accent.

Playthrough number three, I'm gonna switch all the text over to Japanese (and then curse my pathetic kanji-reading skills, lol).

I'm in Queen's Blood hell.

I've battled EVERYONE except the final three, but on two different saves, and now I have to check every single person to find out which TWO I'm missing on the main save.

This is punishment for my "fill the field, play a joker, then kill my own entire army" strategy, isn't it? Well, I won't apologize.
