My dearest little spark.

William once said that the art of love was lost when lovers stopped writing each other letters, and I was inclined to agree with him. And what better way to convey the depths of my feeling for you, my little roommate, than this?

A letter from the heart.

You’re sleeping as I write this. It’s a little before dawn, and the sun waits on the horizon, staining the sky in a watercolour of pastel pink and orange. It’s a beautiful sight, but not as beautiful as you. And it is bittersweet, as it signals the end of my time with you.

I wish we had more of it.

I wish that I could spend every morning with you, curled around you, embraced by your warmth. I am grateful for our nights together, as short as they may be. A vampire's curse, the height of summer. But we’ll have more time soon enough.

I want to tell you how beautiful you look this morning. You’re always beautiful to me, but in this light... the curl of your hair at your temples, the soft warmth of your cheeks. The sweet brush of your breath against my chest. Peaceful. At rest. So soft, within my arms.

It means so much to me, to see you this way. To see how comfortable you are with me. To know that I make you feel safe. I only ever want to bring that to you. Comfort, and safety. Your harbour amidst the storm.

I’m yours, all of me. And I will be here for you, whatever you need. I will move the very earth for you. All you need to do is ask.

You have class today, and I will miss you. I will be thinking of you, my midnight lover. I will be waiting for you to come home.

What a cute cafe! Jean and I thought we'd stop in here for a sweet little treat 🥰 My name is Vic, may I please have an iced coffee with cream? Thank you!

The summer heat was unbearable as you walked down the street. Your throat felt dry and scratchy, and you desperately looked around to see if you could find temporary refuge from the heat.

No, there were no convenience stores for you to pop into. It was just rows of shops selling everything but drinks. You huffed and walked straight ahead until you spotted a little café tucked between two shops.

You quickly walked towards the premises, opening the door, and sighing contently as you were welcomed by the air conditioner, providing instant relief from the heat. A customer walked by holding an iced drink and you remembered how parched you were, so you made you way to the counter to order your drink.

The person at the counter smiled at you, and you suddenly felt self-conscious about your appearance. You glanced at the name tag—Jean. He was tall and well-built. His shaggy brown hair framed his face, and his light brown eyes reflected warmth and kindness.

“Hi, what can I get you?” he asked, his voice smooth.

You quickly wiped your damp hair that was stuck to your forehead due to sweating from the heat and smiled back at him. “Hi, do you have iced coffee?”

“We do,” he said, keying in your order. “Which size do you want you drink to come in?”

You glanced at the three cups stacked at the side of the counter acting as a size guide. “I’ll have medium, thank you. Can you add cream to it?”

“Sure,” he replied, grabbing a transparent plastic to-go cup, and opening a marker, writing your order down. “Is that all?”

“That’s all.”

“Your name?”

“Vic.”

He scribbled your name on the cup and put it to the side for his colleague to put your drink in. You reached for your purse in your bag to pay for your drink. Once that was done, you went to the end of the counter and waited for your drink.

About five minutes later, you heard your name called out and you headed over to get your drink. However, you were confused when you saw that it was in a larger sized cup.

“Um, I think you made a mistake,” you said to the barista. “I ordered this in a medium cup.”

The barista glanced at your cup, shaking his head. “Nope, Jean said you wanted a large drink.”

You glanced at Jean, who was waiting for a customer to decide on a drink, and he caught your gaze, giving you a soft smile. You blushed and smiled back, taking the drink into your hands. “Tell him I said thanks,” you said softly, and the barista nodded.

You waved at Jean and stepped out of the café, ready to brace the scorching heat with your drink in hand. As you walked back to your place while happily sipping your drink, you’ve already made up your mind that you’d come back to the café one day and hopefully, Jean would be there.

scenarios: 

 lying on the couch on top of eachother, one combing their fingers through the other’s hair as they watch a movie 

 waking their partner up for work when they notice their alarm didn’t go off 

 alternatively: allowing their partner to sleep in because they were overworked anyway and need the rest. 

 one waking up before the other, so they make up their side of the bed and can’t help but tuck in their sleeping lover as they do so. 

 giving the other a spoonful of the meal they’re cooking to test it out, holding their hand under their chin so nothing falls. 

 one is sick, so the other heats up a blanket in the dryer to give it to them while they rest on the couch. 

 listening to music together while they both take the day to clean around the house (maybe even getting a little distracted to dance instead)
