Which of your cross stitches was the most work and/or the most complicated to plan out?

My first thought in answer to this question was my 2 Loft Series pieces:

They're really the most complex patterns I've made.

However, after thinking about it for a bit, I realized that the one that was actually the most complicated and time consuming to plan out was the wedding vows:

I did these before I had the pattern making software that I use now (and that I could not have created patterns like the Loft Series without). That meant that I had to plot the whole thing out by hand. Just me marking hundreds of x's on graph paper with a pencil! With the software, you're able to copy and paste and move and center things easily. But doing it by hand meant that I not only had to individually mark each and every x, but I also had to count all the squares and figure out line breaks to fit it into the size I wanted, plus I had to determine the center of each line. I also made sure to count everything at least twice because I did not want to get started stitching and have something be off! It took HOURS.

Here's an example of some of the hand written pattern pages and notes from this endeavor:

Then, once the pattern was complete, it took me around 7 weeks to stitch both of them. So much work, but I'm very pleased with how they turned out!

Haha! Thanks anon!!! I actually have written it, it’s very heavily explored in chapter five of Eid Fic in parallel to Carlos feeling like he had to close himself off and hide his relationships in order to keep his family, and Marjan feeling like she couldn’t introduce her parents to her new boyfriend because she fears they are disappointed she isn’t living out the future they had envisioned for her.

I’ve also explored these feelings of TK’s of having squandered any possibility of a future unless he squeezes himself into unrealistic boxes to fit into some kind of perfect boyfriend in a few other fics.

I'm Not A Fortress, But I Will Try To Protect You TK worries that the reason Carlos didn’t introduce him to his parents as his boyfriend is because he’s ashamed of him. (Marjan gives him a different perspective)

getting past the wounds of love Set early in season one, TK is resistant to letting Carlos get too close because he’s not ready to start boxing up the parts of himself he’s finally let free in order to fit into a new relationship

Oh gosh I never noticed this! How cute!

YES Elijah has one! In fact, he has the same one! It was given to him by Grace and Judd, along with toys and a few other things Charlie had grown out of. She loves her little cousin and doesn't mind at all. Elijah had it as a baby, now it sits in a box in Owen's garage along with some of his other baby things. 🤗

This blanket has belonged to TWO babies!
