Another morning, bright and early and Sam was already up and working on trying to find answers about this current ghoul case Ketch had him on. Working seemed like an understatement though. While Sam didn’t agree with all of the BMOL’s terms and conditions, he liked the way they handled their monster situations. He had to hand it to them, they knew what they were doing…sometimes. Sammy spent a few hours on the internet in his motel room, then went to the library to do more research on a particular family until he found himself starving. Little had he known that it was almost in the late afternoon and he hadn’t consumed anything but a cup of coffee this morning. Figures. Usually they’d have at least two and a half meals by now if he and Dean were on a case. He’d be the first one running for the cheeseburger and bacon, and though Sam’s tried numerous times to stop his brother from eating so much bacon, there’s really no stopping Dean when it comes to pork fat. It made Sam gag a little as he even thought of all the times his brother devoured the meat.
After the library, Sam found himself walking through the streets of union square in hopes to find something to eat, or at least grab a cup of coffee and finish his work. Technically, he shouldn’t have even been working today because it was his day off, but he liked to keep his mind busy. If he didn’t, he’d be a miserable mess trying to conjure up every demon at a damn crossroads he could find or trying to do some crazy Rowena magic and get his brother here, or at least talk to him. Just the thought of his older brother put a small smirk over Sam’s lips as he looked up and found himself in front of a diner. So what if the two hadn’t spoken in a long time, or if Sam kinda really missed Dean. He was allowed to miss him, right?
The youngest Winchester smiled some more before he pulled the door open and entered the diner with his laptop snug under his arm. It was quiet and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee sank in his nostrils as Sammy felt as if he was in heaven. There was a large sign with script hand-writing that boldly stated - seat yourself. So, Sam’s hunter eyes glanced around and found a lonesome two person booth over by a window near the far end and found his feet were already taking him there before his brain made the decision.
It was just moments ago that he sat down, shook his coat off and placed it beside him before he opened up his laptop and went to click on the free WIfI the diner offered, silently thanking the waitress as she came over and gave him a menu and a cup of coffee.
