I like Fenris as a character, don’t get me wrong, but his appearance is so anime/Final Fantasy that he just repulses me sometimes. I honestly think his outfit, white hair, and giant-ass sword are what initially made me hate DA2.

I always see fans on tumblr praising Fenris, so when I started playing Dragon Age 2, I was so hype to meet him. But as soon as I did meet him, I instantly hated him. This hatred only grew as I played. I can’t stand his mage hating philosophy, he’s such a bigot.

I want to stress that I don’t hate Fenris. I am just tired of the majority fandom pretending he’s a flawless character who does nothing wrong.First and foremost, his viciousness to Merrill is ALWAYS excusedby the fandom. I can understand why he says what he says but his dialogue is over the top over done.Second he openly defends Meredith. Mages were sexually abused and tortured under her charge. He is basically excusing her behavior.I am NOT saying all Templars are like her but the way his fandom excuses that is pretty horrible in my opinion.Third, Isabela does NOT force or coerce Fenris to sleep with her by the 3rd ACT the way some people think. He is a GROWN adult capable of making his own decisions. He is a flawed character just like the other characters and should be treated as such.Some of the fandom need to stop pretending that Fenris does nothing wrong at all in game and stop coddling him like hes some sort of pixel wooby

I love Fenris played by people in Rpgs because they usually play him as a normal being with his flaws and acknowledge that he is in fact fucked up and that not all his experience can be count as excuses. But I cannot stand canon Fenris and his fans. Like I want to like him but everytime I do, I have the legacy banter in my head regarding Anders hearing Corypheus and he is just so god damn rude and not even Sebastian (who doesn’t like Anders as well) is that kind of rude.

if there was a version of da2 in which fenris wasn’t a complete asshole to every single one of my companions that’s the game I would be playing. i’ve stopped recruiting him because he’s an asshole in all versions of the game.
