“You almost killed me, so no, it’s not nice to meet you.”

“I wondered when you were going to wake up. You almost didn’t survive.”

“I’m being hunted, and now they’ve seen you too.”
“If you believe in any god, I suggest praying to them now.”
“Shh! Hide here, and don’t move a muscle.”
“Can I walk with you? I think I’m being followed.”
“I’m so sorry. I don’t like tricking people, but I had to lure you here.”

“I’ve seen some weird shit, but you’re something else.”

“You don’t just follow people to their homes! I’m calling the police.”

“I had to tie you up. You didn’t leave me any other choice.”
“I don’t even know you. What do you mean, I ‘have’ to go with you?”
“We almost died back there. Maybe we should introduce ourselves.”
“Let go of me!”
“I’m hurt. Please, I need you to call an ambulance for me.”
“You have to come with me, something bad is about to happen!”

“ oww . . . it stings . “ he whines, squinting damp eyes as the bandage is placed over the fresh wound . he’s lucky to have escaped with only a bloodied knee, & he knows that, but now that the adrenaline of the situation has faded, he’s left a crying, shaking mess . “ th - thanks . . . i really thought for a minute that i was going to die . . . “ he sniffs, wiping a tear & dirt streaked cheek on the back of his sleeve . once the bandage is secured, he extends his leg, wincing slightly . as he moves to stand, it’s not the pain, but instead the trembling of his legs that has him stumbling into carl’s side . he manages to catch himself, leaning into the other boy’s shoulder for support .

❛ you’re okay, yuki, ❜ carl says reassuringly, securing a bandage over the boy’s knee. it was a nasty fall, and though yukiteru is relatively unscathed, a thin stream of blood trickles down his shin. that’s an incredibly small price to pay for such an accident; carl is just thankful he wasn’t bitten in the process. he doesn’t know what he would do if something like that ever happened to yukiteru. the boys are similar – both reserved and resigned to survival, both having grown up rather quickly. but that doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy each other’s company. both have lost their mothers, and yukiteru has no idea where his father resides now. a lot between them goes unsaid, but there is still much to discuss as well. ❛ as long as it doesn’t get infected. ❜
