This will probably be taken the wrong way but the loving reaction to someone explaining to you their struggles which spell out obvious signs of mental illness is NOT to then respond with “you need to be on drugs (medication)” what you’ve done is marked yourself as an unsafe person to talk about problems around.

#yeah. #my sister is on mood altering medication for her mental illness #I can recall several times over the last year that I’ve mentioned what I’m going through to her and her response is ‘you should try taking #drugs’ #I was severely anxious for a while about any kind of medication bc of a bad reaction I had to something I took last year #I’m on anxiety medication now and so far it doesn’t do anything (3 weeks in so far) #Medication is not the answer for everyone #Even if that was an appropriate response
