"Heaven" by UK alt-folk singer songwriter and guitarist @lukedesciscio "A sound at once tortured and tender, confessional and apologetic." - @varioussmallflames ~ Recorded in just 3 days, Heaven is the sound of someone in the right place at the right time. A prolific troubadour by any measure of the term, Luke De-Sciscio’s recording career has been one studded by intense periods of rampant creativity and 2023 is one such vintage year. Four albums flowed with the seasons but there is the sense that each of those records was just an exercise in fine tuning the muscle, such that when Heaven was ready, Luke was waiting. Mercurial, poetic and at times, achingly tortured. Heaven drips like honey down the wall of an asbestos cave. The 9 songs coil into a single revelatory pass, through devotional crooning in the realms of Chris Isaak, up the spirited abandon of Van Morrison and into the bliss-like pool where Jeff Buckley, Emma Ruth Rundle and Chelsea Wolfe lure Jason Molina to a watery-grave. Pure, unfettered and fearless. Heaven is an album which will stand-out, necessarily, from the catalogue of Luke De-Sciscio and whose songs mark the trajectory of a spirit forever at the behest of the truth.
