Independent Embassy
Tumblr media
What machinations did Aziraphale do to make it an Independent Embassy. What does he mean. Demons can't come in but nor do angels in S2. They ask if they can come in. Az knows, insists it's a safe space. Why? He wants to believe he can protect Crowley and Jim and everyone.
Tumblr media
He's trying SO HARD to make it a perfect evening, for everyone to have a great time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He walks away from Crowley and Nina in a hurry, looking worried, but with a plan. The plan is apparently to get EVERYONE into his bookshop. By any means. Bribery. Temptations.
He knows Shax is on his tail, he kinda messed up in the car. But what is his plan? To keep everyone safe for the evening? In case Shax shows up? And what then?

Muriel: "Could you at least once act like adults?"
Crowley and Aziraphale look into each other's eyes and burst out laughing.
Muriel: "What's so funny?"
Crowley: [Referring to Aziraphale] We settle the affairs of Heaven and Hell day and night, I take care of my Bentley and my plants and he takes care of his bookshop and besides we don't have any trousers on. I wouldn't have high expectations."
Muriel: "Please God, give me strength."

Crowley and Aziriphale watching Habin Hotel: Overture
(During intro) Aziraphale: I met Lucifer before he fell. That is... Crowley: Not accurate. We've seen him recently. He's- Aziraphale: The devil. (During Happy Day in Hell) Crowley: If Hell was anything like that, I might not mind it so much (Hell if Forever) Crowley: Yeah. Those are angels, Charlie. They don't listen. Aziraphale: Angels don't curse. Crowley: You have. Aziraphale: Gabriel wouldn't.

Some thoughts on the Winchester brothers.
The alignment of Sam with Hell and Dean with Heaven happens well before we learn that they are the true vessels.
Sam refers to seeing himself as unclean or tainted due to Azazel's (yellow eyes). As though by ingesting the blood of a demon he fell from personhood so something othered and twisted.
Dean is Sam's savior, he pulled Sam from the flames as a child and raised him in their father's absence. Dean sees himself (and Sam) as righteous and good as they save people and fight evil.
As Sam uses his abilities both he and Dean fear that he is straying from this righteous path, even when the visions are beyond his control. When Sam discovers that Azazel wants him to lead the armies of Hell we see this cemented in his character, from birth he was watched over by Hell's forces to become a weapon.
Dean acts as a counter balance even before the boys discover the existence of angels where Sam seems to have a knack for falling in love or in lust with monsters, Dean's interests lie in humanity (until the angels enter the chat (Anna/Cass)
When Sam starts drinking demon blood he unwittingly offers himself to Hell in a way, allowing the lifeblood of the damned to enter him of his own free will.
When Sam made the decision to leave John and Dean not once, not twice but three times he was mirroring Lucifer leaving the Kingdom of his father, feeling undervalued and slighted by the favor of his father being given to another.
Alternatively when Dean stayed he was the faithful soldier modeled after the heavenly host. Unwaveringly faithful to the father that had forsaken and banished his brother.

I had a dream that I went to heaven and heaven had its own heaven-exclusive tv shows that were written and produced there in heaven and they showed me the most popular show in heaven and it was this really beautiful drama and, at the end of the episode, the credits said “Created by Mike Ehrmantraut” and they were like “oh yeah. fictional characters who die in earth media go to real heaven” and I’m like “sure but mike did some pretty fucked up stuff, wouldn’t he go to hell?” and they’re like “no, all the fucked up things he did were fictional. people only get judged for the real things they do and the only thing mike really did was bring joy to millions of viewers” and i think that’s beautiful

I think I figured out what makes a soul go to either Heaven or Hell!!
In the latest episode Welcome to Heaven, we see a moment during the trial where Charlie asks Adam what he thinks it takes to get into Heaven. And he doesn’t actually seem to know. He makes a list of what he thinks got him there, but when provided evidence of a demon doing the same thing, defaults you “then why isn’t he here?”.
We realize that NONE of Heaven actually knows what gets someone to Heaven, and the characters acknowledge that angels are free to be as sinful as they want, but they still get to stay.
Which got me thinking, yeah, how did Adam get into Heaven? He’s awful. Then it hit me: he’s there because he thinks he deserves to be. Think of the demons we know. Alastor, Angel, Husker, Cherri, Valentino. These are all people who have done wrong and they know it. If you were to ask them, I think they’d tell you they deserve to be in Hell.
Isn’t it strange? That we’ve never met a demon who thinks there’s been some mistake? That they deserve to be in Heaven and they shouldn’t be in Hell? Hell should be chock full of people like that, but it isn’t.
I think it’s because if you think you deserve to be in Heaven, that’s where you go. And if you think you deserve to go to Hell? That’s where you stay. It explains why Adam is an angel-despite being a horrible person, he’s completely self righteous, even saying “I’ve never made a mistake in my fucking life.” Of course he’d think he deserves to go to Heaven! It’s how Molly went to Heaven and Angel went to hell, despite them leading similar lives-she thought she should go there.
If this is the case, then all the good deeds in the world won’t redeem a sinner. The only thing that will is repairing them and their mental state enough that they truly feel they deserve better. And I’d be fascinated to see how that goes!
