So I just made a post for a poll, yall should chest that out but if like to give a short explanation for my absence….Life is crazy and writers block sucks. So I’m scrapping my previous Modern Warfare au (or at least putting it in the back burner) and I’m starting something new!
But I want my readers opinion on the main character, like what will they be, what will their callsign be so I’ll be posting some polls to get some feedback before posting the first chapter for a new Au that will follow a bit more closely to Modern warfare 3! So please, feedback for this would be incredibly helpful and I hope to hear back from some of you amazing readers very soon!!

Chapter 5: Paint ball Part 1: (task force 141 x Male!shifter reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: I wanna thank everyone who’s been enjoying this story so far! Truly I’m happy so many people like it. I will be taking some request for one shots and fillers starting today. And thank you all for the patience! I’ve been dealing with losing my job and injuring my leg so it’s been crazy! Agin thank you all!!!
Warning: mentions of death, guns, fighting,
-
The day before left you waking up sore. Training had gone on for several hours. The team perfecting their ways to take down you or any other shifter. And while you healed a lot faster than a human you still had a lingering soreness that settled deep in your bones.
But the tiredness that pulled you to sleep the night before left you with a dreamless and nightmare free sleep. So you didn’t complain to much. Plus today you’d be heading to the forest, something that you truly looked forward to, it made yours bones itch for a good shift and an exciting hunt.
You make your way out of bed and get dressed for the day. Your skin suit and then sweatpants with a tight fitting black shirt and decide to go barefoot. No point in wearing more gear when you wouldn’t need it. After dressing yourself you make your way to leave your room and open your door. Where your greeted with the beaming smile of none other than the sunshine herself. She looked like she was about ready to knock on your door.
“‘Mornin bugs” you hum softly and smile before catching the new scent that lingered around her. You take a deeper death and raise an eyebrow while smirking. Gaz. But for now say nothing if the new smell.
“Good morning kitty! Captain wants us all in the breifing room to go over the rules” she said happily. Blissfully unaware to you putting together her little secret.
“Let’s go, don’t wanna be late now” you urge and follow her to the breifing room where the rest of the team and a small group of recruits where waiting. Everyone was already equipped and had light gear on, their paint ball guns ready and loaded.
“Alright now that everyone is here let’s get these rules set up” price started once you and Dennis got seated but gaz and soap. When you passed by Gaz you took a quick breath and there it was, her scent lingered on him. You shake your head and sit down before looking around.
Of course spotting ghost in a corner, for a moment you stare. He was staring at price, more like through the captain but you took the chance to actually look at him. Blond lashes stood out from the black oil paint and mask, and dark brown eyes behind lashes. You look back to Price before your caught. Time to keep your head in the game.
“Alrighty muppets, rules are simple. Our goal is to eliminate Y/N. We can do so as a team or separately, it’s why each of you have a different paint color. But that shot has to be ‘fatal’, graze his leg with a paint ball and he’s still alive, shot to the head. He’s dead. His goal is to eliminate us in a similar manner to yesterday’s training. There is no time limit so don’t rush. Think of a plan. We all have our radios for communication. If your eliminated, call it through the radios and head back to the trucks.”
Price explains the rules and your slowly getting more and more excited. Knowing soon you can shift and play the game. You take a glance around the room, some recruits seemed nervous almost fearful and others seemed almost overconfident. But the task force all looked excited and giddy, well at least Soap, Gaz an Dennis. You look at ghost and he’s watching you agin, but looks away when you catch him, you couldn’t read what his feelings on the game were.
“Alright, if there’s no questions then get to the trucks. We’ll drive to the edge of the forest. Dismissed!” price announced and the first to leave were the recruits. Gaz and Dennis leave together after price, you could only assume they’d be teaming up. Soap and Ghost left simultaneously, the Scotsman already nagging about teaming up and plans. You mentally noted that out of the team Soap seemed closest to ghost before following to the trucks.
-
Arriving at the forest filled you with a sense of peace. You rode in the truck bed and hopped out while taking a deep breath and humming contently. The smell of the forest, earthy and fresh and the sounds. The feel of grass beneath your feet. Distant birds singing, the bugle of elk. Already you didn’t want to leave. But your attention is brought back when Dennis called you back to the group.
“Alright teams are set up, me and gaz, ghost and soap, price and two recruits are going together and the rest want to try on their own. You’ll go in first and shift. After ten minutes the teams will come in and the game begins” she explained while pointing at the teams with a grin.
“Alright sounds good. Let’s see if any of you can win” you hum. You were confident, not overly but this was your field. You were in your element this time.
After final checks of equipment and radios you jog off into the forest, mentally counting down the time before shifting.

“Let the game begin!!” There was a distant shout signaling the games start. It sounded like price.
You choose the size most comfortable for you, the same as the day before. Large but not monstrous. And instead of immediately going after the teams you let them move deeper into the forest. Getting comfortable high in the branches of a large tree, your dark fur helped you blend into the dense leaves.
It wasn’t long before you heard movement, ears twitching as you slowly move through the tree and look towards the ground below. It was a recruit, one of the soldiers who chose to go solo.
You make your way to a lower branch, being sure to make as little noise as possible as you descended. And once close enough you jump from the branch and land on the soldiers shoulders.
She lets out a startled scream as her legs buckle and she hits the ground hard enough with your weight to knock the air from her lungs. In the process she lost her gun and you waste no time placing your jaws against the back of her neck and apply enough pressure until she calls it quits.
“I’m dead! Fuck I’m dead! Now get off you damn flea bag!” She half screams while throwing the insult but you let her go and she calls her “death” into the radio while standing.
You pay her no second glance while moving further into the forest. It was time to really start hunting.
-
Dennis and Gaz were walking a semi-clear path, paint ball guns at a swivel. They both took turns watching different directions for movements.
“So, you know Y/N. How do you think he’ll come at us?” Gaz asked while looking around, and into the trees.
Dennis smiled and looked at the male while thinking for a moment.
“Well, he could come from above. He likes to climb or head on but I’ll be honest I don’t know. He’s different when hunting I guess. A lot less predictable” she explained while casually shrugging her shoulders. She was relaxed but ready for anything when it came to you.
“Ah,…so you two have known each other for a while..and are pretty close? What’s he like? He seems so, standoffish with the rest of the team” Gaz continued but stoped walking for a moment when he heard a scream and then the radio call.
“That was quick kitty” Dennis mumbled and then looked at Gaz, her expression soft.
“Y/N is pretty much my brother Gaz. So don’t worry about that. And once you get to know him he’s really sweet. And super protective of the ones he cares for, almost scary sometimes. But it takes time for him to fully trust, especially after our last team. He’s not like me. He holds a lot against himself Gaz. But if you want to get closer to him, just talk with him” she spoke softly and truthfully which Gaz appreciate.
From there they continued their hunt while keeping their guard up.
-
Time passed and you’d managed to eliminate the solo soldiers quickly. The teams, ghost and soap. Gaz and Dennis, and price with the remain recruits you had saved for last.
But it wasn’t long before you caught onto the the scent of cigars and whiskey. Price.
Now the real hunt began as you track the scent deeper into the forest until it became newer and stronger.
Your following on the ground when a shot rings out. A yellow paint ball lands and bursts on the ground to your left. You react quickly and run in the opposite direction of the now rain of paint balls. Each barley missing their mark before you disappear into the trees.
The thick branches keep you hidden as you listen to your surroundings. The group was moving forward, price was shouting orders now.
“Keep your eyes open muppets. You all need aim training after that mess!” He sounded mad, understandable since his ambush failed.
But now it was your turn. And your tactic. Take Price out first, the rest were newbies and could possibly be scared enough to run off at your attack.
Slowly you scale down the tree and move into some thick bushes, paws treading lightly. You wait until the price is in reach, he’s facing the bush your in but still you launch forward.
Using the force of your movement your body collides with Price. But for an old man he’s fast to react and as you both hit the ground he throws you off to reach for his gun. Lucky like you expected the recruits froze.
You go after price agin, but he blocks your bites with his gun. Your fangs gnashing into the hard material of the paint gun.
“Shoot him ya muppets!!” The captain shouts, they hesitate before raising their guns. You jump off price with the gun still in your jaw as they start shooting. One pellet skimming past your tail before you disappear back into the foliage.
But you don’t stay gone, you round about the group. Getting behind them before jumping onto the back of a male soldier. Knocking him to the forest floor. Your jaws barely graze the nape of his neck before he’s calling his death. And you run off agin before they can react.
You do this agin from the opposite direction, taking out another soldier. Leaving Price alone and unarmed. Your both staring each other down but despite that price looks proud.
“Good job kid, I’ll admit you took me by surprise. But that was good”
You give your captain a slight nod, you appreciated the compliment and it felt good for your skill to be acknowledged. But you still had a game to win and leapt forward. Price of course didn’t go down without a fight and managed to get a few good hits in to your sides. But you manage to essentially “rip into” his stomach. And tear a few holes into his actual clothing before he called his death.
With that you had two more teams to take down and went on to search for your next victims.
-
And another chapter is here! Thank you all for the patience. I’m going through a breakup and moving so I’ve been unable to work on these lately, but I hope to be more active now! And I broke this into two parts to keep things interesting and from dragging on. As always feed back is always appreciated and I hope to hear back from my lovely readers!!

Chapter 4: count down begins (task force 141 x Male!shifter reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Authors note: hello! Loves! Here is to another chapter!! A few things I’d like to say! To start, thank you. Starting this AU I didn’t believe it was going to get much attention but I was proven wrong! I hope everyone loves the the chapters to come! And speaking of, I have so many great/fun/heart wrenching/agonizing ideas for future chapters. But I want to know what my readers would enjoy. I know this is a Mondern Warefare AU so it’s ok for things to be different. This story is based in my own universe, but I want my readers to enjoy it. So please, send some feedback! What do y’all think? What would you like to see? I need ideas for filler chapters or one shots so this story doesn’t end to quickly. And with that! I think I will start taking one shot request as well so send them in!!!
Warning: this chapter includes mentions of nightmares, breaking bones, and fighting
-
Three days before the mission.
The night before, when the mission was first announced the nightmares started. Different scenarios of losing the team. Being captured and tortured agin. Or losing control and betraying them, killing Dennis.
All this plagued your mind when trying to sleep, all different ways you could fail. You didn’t tell anyone, no not now. Not when the mission was the most important topic.
The morning of the count down you woke up in a cold sweet and tense. It been a while since you’ve had nightmares. But you brush it off as nerves and continue with your day. Shower, eat and get to the briefing room.
You reach the mess hall and are immediately greeted by two things, the smell of coffee and a bone crushing hug from none other than, Dennis.
“Mornin’! I already got you a cup of coffee and plate of food, eggs, toast and sausage. Come on, it’s just us eating, seems we both slept in a bit” she said while dragging you to one of the many tables.
“Well good morning to you to bugs. Sleep well?” You ask while sitting and sipping the coffee. Humming as the warm liquid helped you wake up.
Dennis gave off this bright and excited aura, it was contagious even if you wished it wasn’t. She wore a huge smile while sipping on the hot contents, it smelled like cocoa. She’s never been a coffee person.
“Mhmm, I slept well. It’s nice having my own room, beds not to bad. But I’m a bit sore, sparring yesterday was rough. How ‘bout you? Sleeping well?” She spoke quickly, she was exciting for the days to come. To finally get back on the field.
“I slept fine, not to sore” your answer was short and simple. And half a lie, you slept terribly but that was for another day. Today was breifing and training, welcomed distractions from the nightmare that replayed itself.
For a few minutes you both ate in a comfortable silence. Both of you soaking in each others company until it was Dennis who once agin broke the silence.
“So, what was it that the lieutenant told you yesterday? He seemed pretty pissed off. Or was it something else?~” she asked with a sly grin and dramatic wiggle of her eyebrows, a skill you were oddly jealous off.
“Get your head clear bugs” you snort and half choke on the sausage you’d been eating. Making the woman laugh at the comidic timing.
“He was just yellin’ at me that’s all. Seeing as I almost ripped Soap to shreds. Wants to make sure I’m in control” you shrug your shoulders. But even she knew how the topic of control made you feel.
Always being told. ‘Control it’ or ‘control yourself’ every time you turned around was frustrating. It was a constant reminder that people around you didn’t trust you enough to not remind you, that you were dangerous. An animal.
Dennis nods and goes quiet for a moment before gaining a shit eating grin. The look of mischievousness in her eyes.
“If we have time, wanna go out? There’s a forest close to base, we can get the rest of the team to come along of “training”. Play a hunting game?” She suggested and it was quiet tempting. You used to play hunting games with your old team and recruits.
It was like hide and seek or tag with paintball added in. You of course were the hunter, the rest of the team had to work together to either survive the set amount of time, or ‘kill’ you. It tested their survival skills and teamwork. And gave you on outlet for tension, being out in the forests always calmed you down. So you nod and grin.
“Deal, if they agree. Let’s see if you can keep them alive” you taunt and stretch a bit and hum, it coming off half growlish. “Let’s get to the briefing yeah? Not trying to be late for anything” you added while standing up.
Dennis followed and grins.
“Race you to the briefing!” She announced, almost ahead of you. You couldn’t help but laugh and chase after her.
You let her win, enjoying seeing the triumphant smile she gained while reaching the meeting room. You following at her heels inside, loyal like a guard dog.
All eyes were on the both of you, gaz smiled when Dennis entered and you could have sworn you heard his heart skip a beat. He watched her take a seat before pulling his focus back to Price.
Ghost as usual sat towards the back corner, cold eyes glaring at you, a silent warning. You take your seat beside Dennis and sigh. The only person you all seemed to be waiting on was Soap.
And if on que, the Scotsman came into the room with a bright grin and took the seat beside you.
“‘Mornin’” he said rather happily, his already vibrating energy felt contagious as you couldn’t help the small smile that formed on your lips. And once everyone was settled price began the briefing.
“Alright, In three days we are shipping off to Mexico. Agin, we will be linking up with the Mexican special forces. Alejandro and his men. Russians have taken place of Valeria and are moving around chemicals in the remount mountains.”
The captain turns in the projector and starts flipping through different slides. Some were surveillance footage of a large and well guarded a base. Others were trucks carrying large vats of an unmarked chemical.
“Now, the Russians seem to have a few shifters of their own. From intel, a lion pride and bear. Could be more or less and we don’t have an exact number. But what we do know, the lions seemed to be spending they time as well, lions. Intel is spotty still” as price spoke he was looking at you, seeming to gauge your reaction.
You picked at your hands under the table, but hide any reaction that they could see. But you’d never fought other shifters. Play fought with your sister or partner when you were younger yes. But nothing that could be dangerous.
“If their spending most of their time as lions, they could be nomads. But if their working with the Russians there could be something in it for them as well…sir I have no training against other shifters. It’s..rare for us to be fighting against each other” you spoke your concern truthfully while keeping your eyes on Price. And he nods thoughtfully.
“I’ll see if I can pull some strings, get you some training then. But you’ll be fitted for a vest. Similar to the K-9 units. If they are nomads I want you to be shifted once we get to the mountains for this mission to help fight them off if the need arises.” He spoke and you physically tensed but nod anyway. He continued after that.
“Our job will be to infiltrate that base, identify the chemically they have and find out why they have it. And figure out who their ringleader is. Alejandro and his men will be at our side and we will be staying at their base. Once we land in La Almas we will make a game plan. Until them I want everyone training, separately and together is that understood”
There was a string of quick ‘Yes sir’s
“Any questions?” price asked and looked around the room. Gaz raised his hand and spoke out.
“How long will the mission last? Once we get to the mountains?” He asked while leaning forward against the table.
“Well, the mountains are a large area, and it’s covered with dense patches of forest. We know the base is located in the mountains but not exactly where so probably a few weeks at least” price answered confidently. And looked at the rest of the team. Soap spoke up with a laugh.
“Aye, best be we get to trainin’ then I wanna rematch with the cat here” he laughed and nudged your shoulder, your forced out a light chuckle. Dennis was the next to speak, standing up with a shit eating grin.
“Well, if we are to go up against lions. Y’all need to know how to take down a shifter! I say we play a game then. It’s still training though, but I saw that there’s a forest behind base. And I say we play a hunting game. All of us versus Y/N” she suggested excitingly and you role your eyes. Though she seemed to have gathered everyone’s attention. Ghost included as his eyes finally left you.
“Go on dagger, what’s this game” it was price, looking amused and interested seeing as 141 did indeed need the teasing.
“See we’ll need paint balls, few different colors and definitely a lot of red. But anyway the game’s simple. Kitty is going to hunt us, while a panther. Our job either together or on our own is to take down and “kill” him. And he’s to do the same to us. We win by killing him, he wins by killing all of us. It’ll teach y’all how to listen for him, and how to fight a shifter. You won’t survive in a real fight if you don’t know how to pin them down” she explained while looking around the room excitedly.
The first to agree, much to your surprise was Ghost. Who nods and spoke gruffly.
“It’s not a terrible idea, we do need the training. Can get some recruits in on it to” he agreed and Price nods along. Gaz was the next to agree and then Soap soon after.
“Alright. Tomorrow we will play this hunting game, gives time to get the paint ball guns and so on. Today I want everyone training and observing in hand to hand. Dagger, Y/N I want you to to show the rest of us some sparing while your a panther. Give us some ideas for tomorrow for it? Good, dismissed. Be on the mats in 15 minutes” Price orders, leaving little to no room for questions or agurments.
He’s the first to leave, followed by soap and gaz, then ghost who gave you one last glare before leaving. You and Dennis were the last to leave.
“Hey bugs, im going to go shift. Come get me in ten yeah?” You asked to which she grinned and nods.
“Yeah yeah kitty, I’ll come open the door for your no thumb having ass” she teased before leaving the breifing room and heading to her own to change.
You did the same, heading to your room and shutting the door before sighing and beginning to undress.
When you had first joined the army they issued your a special made skin tight suit to wear under your basic clothing and gear. It hugged your body and when shifting it shifted with you, acting like a second skin under your fur. And it wasn’t necessarily uncomfortable but still at times you chose not to wear it. Like today, where you stripped bare naked to shift.
And unlike other days where you had to shift quickly today you let it sink into your bones. Allowed yourself to fill your bones twist and break, or your muscles tighten and tear before reforming. Allowed yourself to feel every aspect of the shift and while it wasn’t extremely paining it was harsh to say the least.
Within several minutes you’d shifted to a large panther, not your largest but also not your smallest. You stretch, joints popping and you growl with satisfaction before patiently sitting on your bed for Dennis to come open the door.
And two minutes later she did, with a cheeky grin as she walked into your room and carefully held out her hand. You knew what she was wordlessly asking and nodded ever so slightly.
She came forward and gently ran her hand through the fur behind your ears. You growl contently and she seemed to let go of tension neither of you seemed to know she was holding.
After one of your first missions together you’d both found that it was quite relaxing to set together as she pet through your fur. Neither of you spoke, nor that you could. And just enjoyed the comfort. Dennis was the only person you allowed to pet you.
“ C’mon kitty, let’s go show off” she hums and gave you one last scratch behind the ears before leading yku out of the room and closing the door behind her.
You followed Dennis closely, in this form you stood about the same height at her. Which of curse drew some fearful looks from those who passed by and had never seen a shifter.
But in any case you both make it to the traing ground where the rest of the team was already waiting. Beside the day of your rescues this was the only other time they’d seen you shifted. There was a varying amount of looks.
Soap looked surprised, gaz was in awe and price seemed impressed. And ghost, for a moment you could have sworn his eyes held admiration before going neutral. You chose to ignore these looks and step to the mat and wait for Dennis to get her hand wrapped by gaz. You watched them both closely.
She was smiling like normal but had a slight flush to her cheeks as they spoke quietly, you chose not to listen in. And even after her hands were wrapped Gaz let his fingers linger against her wrist. You growl loud enough to gain her attention and once she looked at you, you tilt your head, eyes flicking between her and Gaz.
Dennis sighed and walked towards you, grumbling mainly to herself and you give her another soft growl. She knew what you where asking and her blush deepened a shade.
‘What’s goin on with you two?’ Was your unspoken question and she just shakes her head.
“ ‘Tis nothin kitty. Now com’on. Their watching” she whispered while bracing her stance, and you stood up. Growling lowly as you circled around her and she watched your every move.
And like she said the rest of your new team was indeed watching intently. Even price, despite his years of knowledge seemed to be taking mental notes.
You make the first move, lunging forward and swiping at Dennis’ legs. You were sure to keep your claws sheathed, not wanting to draw blood or giver her stitches. But she was quick to step back before you could knock her over. And so when you took a step back to reevaluate she stepped forward and tried to get her arms wrapped around your neck, attempting to put you in a choke hold.
Which she failed at as you pull your head away and quickly head butt her, knocking her back and you were quick to tower over and very carefully held her neck in your jaws. You kept this position for a few seconds before stepping back and well chirping, it was more a series of soft growling clicks but it’s how you called a win.
Dennis groans and rubbed her head while sitting up.
“Dirty move kitty” she huffed and slowly stands up before looking at the team. Instead of being upset about the loose she decided to use her failure to teach the others.
“So, what do y’all think I did wrong? And what do you think I was trying to do?” She questioned as you moved to stand beside her, another soft growl coming from you.
“You were overconfident and didn’t asses your actions fully” Soap was the first to speak and gaz followed after with a question.
“You were going for his neck? Why?”
She smiles and nods, gently scratching behind your ear before stepping forward
“Good observations. Yeah, I did get cocky. Can’t be doing that while fighting a shifter, their smarter then normal animals. And yes I was going for his neck. One of your best options his to choke out a shifter, or in leathal cases snap their neck. But of course how you take them down all depends on what animal they take after and their size”
You looked around the room, knowing you’d have to spar with each of them today and tried to make a game plan as Dennis spoke.
“Now of course on an actual field you won’t be unequipped. A knife or a gun means the difference between life and death. And just pray to whatever you may believe in that you don’t get caught unarmed” she said with a slight chuckle.
“There is more to learn but I’ll leave that for Y/N to explain. So until then who would like to go next? Remember the goal is to pin him down. If he can get back up he can kill you. I’ll be calling out wins or losses and certain points of contact. Feel free to use the fake knives to make it more interesting” after she finished speaking Gaz was the first to raise and step forward to get his hands wrapped. He grabbed one of the fake knives before entering the matted area.
The fake knives where a thick and hard plastic. No sharpness to them but could still cause some pain and discomfort if used correctly.
You watched Kyle, growling and barring your fangs. Hoping to throw him off by fear. But he stood his ground and made the first move.
He launched forwarded holding the knife with the flat of the blade against his wrist and moved into a slide when you moved forwards. It took you by surprise, he had more years on you and it showed. But still you managed to avoid the blade as he swung for your throat.
And yet Kyle still was faster and quickly switched the blade to his right hand and swung for your right shoulder. It hit bluntly and made your muscles immediately ache as you jumped to the side to create some distance.
“That’s a hit! But he’s not dead yet! Shifters of dense muscle mass.” Dennis called out causing Gaz to look towards her and you wasted no time launching forward and jumping at him.
But what you thought what him being distracted wasn’t very true. And as your body made contact with his you felt the blunt knife punch into your gut, at the same time though you managed to get your fangs to his throat as you both hit the mats. The air being punched out of you as you land on your side and for a moment you just lay there as does Kyle.
“Your both dead! Gaz your throat as been partially ripped out, Y/N you’ve been stabbed in the gut. Internal bleeding” Dennis informed rather harshly. She was always tense when training.
You growl and stand up, taking slow deep breaths to steady yourself as you look to Gaz. Gently nudging his arm to insure he was fine, to which he laughed and sits up.
“Good move Y/N. I’ll win eventually” he said confidently while standing and walking off the mat.
The next in the ring was soap, who chose to use no weapon and wore a cocky grin was he looked at you.
“Show me what you got pussycat” he taunted playfully and you roles your eyes while circling around the scot.
You both watched each other, trying to wait each other out. But much like his favorite explosives, soap was a ticking time bomb and moved first.
Going for a full tackle which you brace for, allowing the older man to force you both into a roll. Which you get out of first and pin the Scotsman on his stomach. But as you move for the “killing blow” his elbow connects with the side of your head with a rather loud crack. Effectively sending you off of him and slumping to your side with a low hiss.
Soap used this to his advantage and moved quickly to get his arms around your neck and head ass if he’d snap it.
“Y/N! Your dead, should have watched his arms. Good job Soap” Dennis called and sighed.
You stand slowly after soap released you taking deep breaths to steady yourself. Now you were getting frustrated, holding back proved unsuccessful. You had underestimated the rest of 141 and their abilities to take you down. With a low snarl you turn and face your next competitor. Ghost. Price was talking with Dennis, your paid no attention to their conversation.
He chose a fake knife and stepped onto the mat. You take a few steps back while watching the large man. The mask kept you from gaging his mood and his eyes were cold. You didn’t plan on holding back this time.
You make the first move, running forward and going for his knife hand. If you could disarm him first that would make things easier in the long run.
Ghost anticipates your moves and instead of dodging his brings his leg forward and kicks you in the side. Effectively sending you rolling back. But you are quick to get moving agin and launch forward, once close enough you change direction and quickly get behind the man. Wasting no time to jump onto his back and use your weight and momentum to force Ghost to his knees.
Agin he works with your attack and as his knees hit the mats he reached up. At first you feel the knife make contact with your back between your shoulder blades
“That a hit! He’s still kicking though” Dennis calls
And then your feel his hand grab the scuff at the back of your neck trying to pull or throw you off of hun. But this time you play dirty, you growl, growing arger and heavier in only a few seconds and his hands lose their grip. He changes tactics, as did you.
And as your jaws wrap around his head, he swings his right arm back and you feel the fake blade connect with your rib cage. She calls it.
“Ghost, your heads been crushed, Y/N, punctured lung. Your both dead. Agin kitty, watch their damn arms!” she calls as you step of off of ghost and she walks towards you.
You stood at your full height agin, 7ft. Taller then the Ghost himself who stands and stared at you. But this time you didn’t see anger or hate. But impression.
“Dirty trick soldier….good job” he said gruffly before stepping of the mat to join the rest of the team. You watch him in surprise before your attention is brought back to the sunshine her self. Who now wore a grin while winking at you.
“Alright! Good first spar but the only one to survive was soap. Ghost lost, because Y/N grew larger rather quickly. Shifters can vary in sizes, normally they have two main sizes. One is their true size” she points to you and you straighten up a bit with a proud huff.
“And then the animal size, which is self explanatory. But with training and practice they can fluctuate between those two sizes. Or like just now, go from one size to the other effortlessly” she explains as price comes back in. Having disappeared for a phone call.
“I got the paint ball guns and paint. Should be here first thing tomorrow.” He informed to which everyone nods.
“Alright any questions before we continue?” Dennis asked as you shrunk down back to a five foot tall form.
“Aye! So do you have any other forms? Like half ones or something?” It was soap who asked and you both tensed. Looking at each other, you shake your head, now wasn’t the time to go into different forms. You both knew the answer, she’s seen it before.
“That’s a question for him to answer…let’s get back to training” she said quickly and that’s what you all did, trained for most of the day. Winning, losing and perfecting techniques.
And so the missions count down begins.

CHAPTER THREE: CONTROL IT
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: here we go! I can’t believe it, this story has been getting so much love!!. And bare with me, this is my interpretation of the 141 characters. So for some they might be out of character but for me it’s how they are.
WARNING: This chapter includes fighting, cursing, death, mentions of betrayal and murder.
-
Arriving at the training room you were meet with the all to familiar smell of sweat, metal and stale air. But also unfamiliar scents of your new team members and other soldiers. Being a shifter left your nose able to distinguish different smells. Though it could be unfocused and overwhelmed if you didn’t have something to pinpoint.
Dennis skipped confidently to the center ring where Soap was already waiting with the rest of 141 and getting his hands wrapped by gaz.
You following behind her, glancing to everyone in the room. Change, you dislike it. Having to get used to new surroundings, a new territory. It left you untrusting of those around you.
Your attention was to the different scents and trying to distinguish who’s was who. Soap, smelt like honey and gunpowder, he was the first you pinpointed upon meeting from how sweet it was.
Then price, cigars, sawdust and a slight tinge of copper. His was prominent from the day they rescued you. Always lingered in whatever room he’d been in and in a way it was comforting.
“Kitty! Are ya’ listening?” Your attention is yanked back to Dennis, Sunflowers, campfires and the ocean, peaceful despite hers and you job.
Dennis was standing in front of you, arms crossed and giving you a concerned look. You zoned out a lot some times, normally when tense. But it had been happening more often after the failed mission. After losing your team.
But you just smile to her and nod, no need to darken her own light. No, she still carried her brightness, a flame that infected everything around it, that bright warmth and life.
Your flame, when not controlled as the exact opposite. It’s happened before. So all you need to do it control it.
“Sorry bug, just getting used to the smells..you stink” you said and offered her a gentle shove.
“Mhm, well I was asking for you to help wrap my hands” she said while holding the white wrapping to you. Which you take with a nod and follow her to the sparring area.
“So, what’s your game plan bug? Tire him out? Or want me to call out openings? Show ‘em how we work together?” You spoke quietly while carefully wrapping her hand. Being sure her knuckles were well protected.
“Both, I say. Give them something interesting” she smirked while looking at the rest of 141. Gaz and Soap were talking, probably about soaps own game plan. Ghost stood nearby in a corner, watching through hooded blonde lashes. And price stood by, seemingly ready to call out the wins.
“Sounds good to me. I’ll call out what I see” You nod and squeeze her hand with a smile before she walks to the center of the ring, and you walked off to the side.
“Ready to lose Suds?” She called out as Soap walked over and laughed.
“Show me what ya got lass” he said while raising his arms
-
“We need a way to communicate with you while your shifted. How do you normally communicate with say..family?” It was nova. Another training day of trying to get the team to work fluidly together and see who excelled in what.
You were sat with the rest of the team, Lana, Dennis and a few recruits who were just observing for now.
“Growling, roars, chuffs or chirps. It all depends on the animal. Also body language Sir, how my ears are pointed, to how my tail flicks. It’s all there if you know how to listen..Sir” you half mumbled. Growing increasingly more frustrated with this training.
Trying to get the rest of your team, all humans. To understand you, to understand what growl or chirp meant a warning or you were agreeing. Or how a series of chirps meant a team member was injured.
But Nova, for a captain he was kind and patient. Took your frustration with a grain of salt, being as you were the odd one out.
“Alright, so say you come across an injured member while a panther. You can’t use your communication device and someone else is close but you need to get their attention. What will you do” he gave the hypothetical and you took a moment to think about it. How to sound urgent.
Then you let out a short but loud growl. It did sound urgent, and for being in your human shape, it sounded completely animalistic, making the recruits jump in surprise. Nova nods and grins.
“Sounds good! Now we are getting somewhere. Let’s continue” and from there you all continued to practice and learn. Dennis was the first to pick up on the new communication and eventually you both could communicate almost fluidly in your on way.
-
Soap and Dennis circled each other slowly, both eyeing each other and waiting for the other to make the first move.
Dennis was the one to move, launching forward and swinging for Soap’s rib cage though he blocked the move and used her momentum to trip her. Causing her to land on her butt, but she quickly stood up and huffed.
And you watched like a hawk, eyes still feline and ears still pointed. It drew Gaz over who was curious about you and shifters in general.
Dennis glanced to you before making her next move, kicking at his legs faster then he could react. Making Soap take several steps back.
You tilt your head and let out a growlish chirp while rolling your left shoulder. Dennis grinned and swung for soaps left side, landing two blows to his side. Gaz stared at you in surprise.
“What was that?” He questioned, failing to hide the pure curiosity in his tone. And you glance at him, a small close lipped grin growing.
“You’ll learn” you said, eyes never leaving the sparring match. And both contestants grew more serious and hits became harder.
Dennis managed to get Soap to the ground, they both struggled for the upper hand. She hand one of his hands pinned behind his back and she started laughing as she pressed one knee to his back . But being cocking was her downfall.
Soap bucked upwards, throwing her off balance and used his own momentum to spin around and pin her in her back. Arms pinned at her side and legs trapped between his thighs. You couldn’t help but laugh the sight.
“C’mon bug! I thought you said you’d win” you teased as Soap helped her up while chuckling, her cheeks dusted a rosy pink as she glared at you.
“Your good lass, just need some practice” Soap assured while stretched and Dennis turned her attention to you.
“Oh yeah! You fight someone then! I’m out of practice” was her taunting excuse as she walked over to you and you raise your arms in surrender.
“Mhm you did good though, we can train together as well to get back on track” you offer as she leaned against you. But watching her spar made you itch for the same. You felt so cramped not being able to shift or train.
“Go on kitty, spar with someone. Get some tension out” Dennis egged on and smirked as you tensed up. She knew you well, and knew you were antsy.
“Yeah kitty, come spar” Soap taunted from in the ring and stretched. You tilt your head to the side and take a breath. By now, the team had mostly dispersed, Price and gaz were doing some light sparing on a different mat. And Ghost was going at a punching bag as if it was his worst enemy.
“Don’t call me that, Mctavish” you warned and stifled a growl. You nod to Deniss who started to wrap your hands.
“Take it easy Y/N, control it yeah?” Dennis spoke softly and squezzed your hands, she noticed the slight growth in your nails. Knew you were still pent up and frustrated from the failed mission. And knew your temper could get the best of you. It’s happened before.
“I’ll be fine bug, promise” you assured and stretched some more before stepping into the mat with Soap.
“Your not a scaredy cat are you?” The Scotsman teased lightheartedly. Making you chuckle just a bit.
“Your the one who should be scared” you taunt and move forward quickly, swinging for his left side which he tended to leave open.
Your speed took Soap by surprise, your attacks were quick and you were more agile then he was. Your movement was fluid and well feline, always ready to pounce at the next opening. And you weren’t giving him much room for his own attacks, the moment you stepped on the mat it’s like a switch was flipped.
You were an animal, tactical and in control for now at least. But control, it’s such a shaky topic, so many things can make someone lose control.
Soap took two steps back to reanalize you and your fighting style and you allowed it. Taking slow deep breaths as you watched him and flexed your muscles.
“What’s wrong Suds? Afraid to lose?” You taunt lowly there was a slight growl to your voice as you spoke.
“Never faught a shifter. Your a beast kid!” Soap spoke with a laugh. It was meant as a compliment, but it itched you the wrong way.
You moved without thinking, that familiar feeling coming back slowly.
-
You’ve spent the last three days in your panther from, tracking the leaders scent through the desert. The rest of your team by your side.
It was only supposed to take a day to find him, as intel said he’d be in a village. Three days have passed sense then and the only solid lead you had was his scent. You were becoming increasingly more frustrated.
And his scent was now starting to fade away, but you and your team had decided to take a break. The desert sun was high in the sky and having fur made you over heat easily.
“How are you filling kitty?” Dennis came over with some water, cupping her hand and pouring the water. Allowing you to drink what you could.
You answered her with a soft growl, thankful for the water.
“Your doin good you know, tracking him. I can’t imagine it being easy” she continued once you finished drinking. You looked back to Nova and Lana who were seemingly talking about the next course of action.
There was a breeze finally going and you growl lowly, taking a deep breath and focusing on the different scents. You wanted to finish this mission and go back to base, wash the dirt and sand from your fur.
And to your luck, you caught it! And it was strong, you stood up and snarl, alerting the rest of your team who stood ready. And within seconds you were on the move agin. Trotting through the desert on the hunt.
The scent lead you to a large campsite, a few guards stood point around it and there was a group towards the middle. One man stood out, large and barking orders. Your Target.
You were crouched down in some bushes, waiting to engage. Muscles tense and ready to leap forward.
Lana set up on a hill, she’d be the sniper. Nova and Dennis worked as a team to clear the outer guards before giving you the signal. A low pitched whistle, with the signal you lunged forward.
Your job was to subdue the gang leader and watch him. Of course you killed any guard or soldier who got in your way. The day’s frustrations being out on them.
You used your largest from for an intimidation factor, some guards avoided you all together and within a few minutes you were in front of the leader.
Alister Barkovia, well known for his hatred and treatment towards shifters. You’ve seen the files, photos. He was a terrible man who deserved death. A terrible man who you’ve spent the last three days tracking through the damn desert.
A terrible man. Who you’d kill.
Without thinking you lunged at him, he went from taunting you to screaming as your fangs ripped into his forearm. This alerted your team who had been busy clearing out the camp.
Dennis and nova were the first to reach you. Nova immediately started to shout orders.
“Fuck are you doing?! Let him go kid! Your disobeying direct orders!” He shouts gaining your attention. You growl and drop Barkovia, stepping over his whimpering form and stalking towards Nova.
You were seeing red, flashes of what the man had done and Nova wanted him alive? You weren’t thinking rationally. It felt like you were drowning in it.
“Kid, calm the hell down!” He continued to yell. Only angering you further and you lunged. Dennis stepped in front of him as your claws reached out, stopping you in your tracks but not before she received a nasty gash to her shoulder.
But Dennis being who she was remained stoic and glared at you.
“Really kitty? Your gonna be what everyone says about shifter’s? That your beasts? Who turn on their friend’s? control it kitty” she spoke softly, stepping towards you slowly.
She calmed you down, always has. She was your anchor when you needed it. You step back, growls became short breaths as you reel yourself back in.
“Control it yeah? There you go” she smiled to hide the wince as she raised a hand to brush your cheek. You notice, see that she’s hurt because of you. And then you hear the laughter.
“You think you can tame the Beast. He will betray you like the animal he is. Just a feral monster” Barkovia spoke through pain and nova was the one to knock him out before turning to you.
“Don’t let this happen agin” was Nova’s warning. He was mad understandably. You almost cost them the mission. All because you lost control.
-
You felt the force and then the air leaving your lungs before you could actually process what had happened as your legs were swiped from under you and you landed in your back.
Taking a moment to process everything as that suffocating feeling left your body you looked above you. Ghost stood above you with a cold gaze, standing with his arms crossed. It’s like he appeared out of nowhere, living up to his call sign.
“Always keep your guard up sergeant, never know when you’ll be ambushed” he warned gruffly and walked away.
Dennis came over with a knowing look as she helped you up but staid silent. And Soap, he seemed just as surprised but started laughing and turned his attention to Ghost.
“Steamin jesus, Lt!! Go easy on them” he laughed while following the Ghost to the fountains.
Dennis followed you as you left the mat before gently grabbing your arm and turning you to face her.
“You gonna talk about that Y/N?” she said and crossed her arms.
You sigh and shake your head, running one hand through your hair.
“Just worked up, Bugs. Is all” you made your excuse with a straight face and direct eye contact. But she of course didn’t believe it.
“I’ve seen that look before. You have to control it kitty. You know that” she said sternly but softly before both your attentions was brought to Price. He seemed to have left the training room and just returned.
“Oi muppets! Mission in four days! The next three days will be used for team building, mission debrief at 0800 tomorrow” he spoke loudly with a voice full of authority.
With that the rest of your team continue training, but Ghost made his way to you and Dennis. Even the way he walked with intimidating. Once close enough he spoke.
“I need a moment alone with your friend Dagger. Go train, that’s an order” he spoke hashly, you can practically feel the anger rolling off of him. And with a direct order Dennis slowly walked away.
“The fuck was that sergeant!? Am I gonna have to worry ‘bout you turnin’ on this team? Like a feral animal?” His words were quick and sharp. And stab to the chest.
So he did notice you slipping. But why cover for you?
“No sir, I have it controlled” you spoke stiffly, jaw clenched tightly as you stood straight.
Ghost stared at you, surveying you. Judging you. He didn’t trust you. Shit he didn’t really trust anyone but you? No not at all. Not yet at least, but he walks away after your response.
You sigh and take a deep breath. A slight growl.
All you have to do is control it.

-
‘PROTECT HER’
It’s the only thought that ran through your mind as you lunged, body that of a hulking black panther.
This caused the attacking man to become distracted. Who wouldn’t when a man is suddenly a beast? Dennis used this to her advantage and quickly ripped the gun from his hand before he could pull the trigger.
Not that he would have been able to. Not while your fangs ripped into his throat and claws dig into his spine with vicious snarls.
Blood. That metallic taste should have disgusted you, should have deterred you away. But it never once bothered you. Call it the animal within but it didn’t taste bad.
Now you didn’t crave it, nor regularly consume it. You can and do live without consuming it. But on the occasion it did happen, you were unbothered.
Once the man stopped fighting you released his corpse and stood tall. Crystal green eyes flicking to Dennis as she stared at you. She’d never seen you this large and was rightfully intimidated.
You let out a soft growl, almost a baritone hum as you lower your head and inch towards her.
‘Keep her calm, stick to the plan’ you think while lowing to the ground, internally wincing as several wounds had reopened while shifting.
“Holy shit..” she mumbled after a moment of gathering her own thoughts and stepping forward. Gun in hand as she limped to your side. “Get us out of here yeah?” was her comment as she carefully climbed into your back and you stood up. Taking a moment to adjust to the added weight and forign feeling as she placed one hand between your shoulder blades for balance.
With the door now open you cautiously made your way out of the hell hole you’d been in. You discovered you’d been locked in some old off room, turned torture chamber, of what seemed to be a warehouse. You were cautious as you rounded corners and tried to find a way out. It was quiet, the air still and as you moved through hallways you didn’t find any guards or soldiers. Then you figured out why as the sound of guns firing rung through the warehouse.
Your enemy was distracted. This was your time to escape.
-
They landed about ten miles from the warehouse and made the distance on foot. The decision to travel on foot was made to lessen the chances of alerting the enemy.
Price of course lead the group and once they reach their abjective he started to give orders.
“Alright, Ghost and Soap. Take the north side and head towards the middle. Clear every floor and room, call for backup if needed. Gaz and I will take the south side and meet you two in the middle. Radio in if you find any of the team members” he barked before both teams separated to their respective locations.
Price and Gaz made their way through the first two floors of the south side with relative ease. Taking down enemy soldiers before they knew what hit them. But the more levels they climbed the more soldiers they began to run in too.
Soap and Ghost where the same, each level becoming increasingly full of soldiers until the entire warehouse was inevitably made aware of the invader. Ghost calls it when while soap shoots down enemies left and right.
“Price! We’ve been made, we need to move quickly!” He said into the coms while ducking for cover as more gunfire erupted.
-
Your ears perked up from the gunfire and shouting from the floor below. It made your heart quicken and body tense as you make your way down another hall, and met with stair and a railing to the floor below.
Dennis heard the gunfire as well as you reached the stairs. “Why are they shooting? You think someone came?” She questions weakly a tinge of hope in her voice. It made you peek up on her current condition, you look back at her and a soft worried growl is released at her state.
She was pale, sweating and shivering at the same down. Exhaustion hit her quickly when her adrenaline disappeared and the full effect of her own injuries began to take over, you didn’t check over her injuries before hand, but you could tell she was bleeding from several different wounds.
And while not deadly the wounds had became infected making her sick and now you could hear how rattled her breathing was, see how she swayed side to side and gripped your fur to stay steady on your back.
You replied to her with soft chuffs. Drawing her attention back to you as you looking over the railing, now you could see a few enemies shooting, back not at what. It both worried you, for the fact that getting in the cross fire meant death or being captured agin. But also gave you hope that maybe you both were saved.
Slowly you make your way down the stairs, large paws taking three steps at a time. You could feel your own body weakening, shifting while wounded and already weak took a lot out of you. Made your wounds worse as it wasn’t a recommended task for shifters unless dire.
Your only reason for pushing forward was the woman on your back, your best friend.
Somehow, be it the luck of the gods you manage to sneak your way behind the enemy. You could take down a few while they were distracted. But Dennis was struggling more now to stay awake. She was almost laying in your back, to tired to stay sitting up and the gun clattered to the ground. Alerting the enemy to you.
‘Stay awake bug’ you mentally chant, not that she could here you. Upon noticing your position had been made you crouch down and carefully rock Dennis off your back, she slides to the ground with a weak groan and curls in on herself. But at least the crates kept her covered as you kept forward agin.
-
141 had finally regrouped in the middle of the warehouse. Taking cover between crates and pillars. It wasn’t supposed to turn into a full on firefight but of course they endured nonetheless less. Dropping bodies like flies without being hit themselves.
“We still got one last floor to check. They gotta be here!” It was Gaz who shouted over the gunfire, ever the hopeful one. Despite them being rather outnumbered.
He ducked down to reload his gun, Soap started shooting. It was like a dance between the team. Two shoot, two reload and gain new cover. A back and forth dance of calculated killing.
Price was the one to notice you first as some enemy soldiers stopped firing at them and you launched out of hiding to attack. Ghost was the first react though, quick to aim his gun at what he could though could be another threat.
“Fuckin’ hell! Fuck’s that?!” He shouted gruffly, none but price knew you were a shifter. It was confidential and ‘Need to know’ even for his team. Shifters in the army are rare, Laswell wanted it kept secret in case anyone in task force 141 wasn’t found of the non-humans.
“Don’t shoot him ya muppets!” Price commanded, seeing as his men quickly perceived you as another giant threat. Which of course was understandable, a seven foot wild cat isn’t something one sees on a daily!
But dispite their questions they didn’t second guess their captain. Not now, if their mission was to protect you. Then they would. The team moved forward from their position and continued to press to towards the enemy.
-
You took down soldier after soldier, briefly managing to avoid bullets through the element of surprise. But that was short lived, the first bullet managed to graze your hind leg, causing you to hiss out in pain but you still kept fighting.
The enemy was on their last legs, only a few still standing but quickly being dropped like flies.
It was now when you finally got a glimpse of who the enemy was shooting at. The first he noticed was a large soldier with a skull mask balaclava which did in fact worry you that the soldiers were not friendly. The second soldier you noticed was one wearing an old fisherman’s hat, immediately you knew who that was. You’d heard the stories of Captain Price.
And you then knew team came for you both. Captain Price and his Task Force came for you.
But through your distraction you earned the bullet in your side. You felt it pierce through your dense muscle and couldn’t tell if it hit anything vital. The sudden pain caused you to growl out and struggled to stay standing as you eyed the soldier who shot you. But before either of you could react the soldier dropped dead with the bang of the captains gun.
Looking at the Task Force as they eyed you cautiously you turn away. Limping back to Dennis, who much to your relief was miraculously still breathing. It wasn’t tell the firefight ended and the last of your own adrenaline flickered away that you noticed how much pain and exhaustion you were in. Your large form was trembling as you stood protectively over the the woman you cared about so much.
Your happily die protecting her, for while you knew, deep down that the Task Force, meant no harm.
Your mind was foggy and pain made everything scream “danger!”
-
“Soap, call for evac. Gaz, get the med kit. See if we can patch them up a bit. Ghost keep your eyes out for anymore enemy soldiers” Price listed off orders in an especially calm tone while eyeing you. He was cautious and slow with his movements, knowing you’d been through a lot and didn’t want to risk anyone getting hurt if you reacted negatively.
“Kid, i need you to step away from her yeah? We are here to help” he spoke to you calmly but still held the athoritive tone. He was met with hesitat warning growls as you swayed, blood dripping from your fur in several spots the most sever being your side and leg. Your lips curl back to bare large fangs, claws unsheathed as he makes a move to step forward.
Gaz came back with the med kit and eyes you for a moment, surprised and concerned filling his gaze with a hint of fear for such a large beast.
“How are we doing this cap?” He asked cautiously as you visibly tense and growl.
“Evac is ten clicks out!” Soap announced agin drawing your attention towards him. You were jumpy, muscles twitching at the ready to protect Dennis.
-
“Kitty..” it was a weak call out, breath and sluggish. But all your attention was to her in an instant.
You lower your head so she can see you and make a soft chirp like sound, letting her know your there.
“..gettin’ us out of here?..” she asked tiredly while reaching out for you. You looked towards Price and gaz. Price seemed to understand the unspoken question you had and nods well stepping a bit closer.
“Yeah, we’re getting you both out. Just hang on for us kid” he spoke to Dennis and you finally stepped away to alway them to assess her injuries.
Gaz assessed her, getting her on her back and patched up when wounds he could while keeping her stable.
You stumbled a bit now, taking the opportunity to sit back. Breathing was becoming increasingly more difficult and keeping your eyes on Dennis felt like a whole new challenge. Pain seemed to seep into your very bones. Your head hung low and jaw parted slight as you struggled to breath.
It was then, you realized the bullet in your side as moved closer to your lungs.
Price noticed and stood up, this time getting in your full view.
“Son your hurt pretty bad. Think you can turn back for evac? Your friend here is stable, now it’s your turn” he spoke, and though it sounded like a hurried order you knew why he requested you to shift back.
Not many people were trained for medical in shifters, let alone in their animal forms. They weren’t equipped for it. Neither was evac.
But gods above the idea of shifting sounded so exhausting.
“Evac is here we gotta go!” A gruff, accented baritone voice called out. Bringing your thoughts back to prices request. You offer a small nod, now internally grateful for the skin tight under armor you’d been wearing since your failed mission.
This time the shift was anything but pretty between your old and new wounds it hurt like hell. The bullet wounds especially, which stretched and moved as your body changed. Pain growls became cries and screams as you managed to return to your human form.
But it took the last been of fight out of you, your body felt like lead and you had no strength to hold yourself up. Price caught you before you hit the floor and the last thing you rember seeing is Dennis being carried away.
-
“Y/N/N!!” You could here her small scream before seeing her run towards you, small arms raised in the air as she ran.
You drop your duffle back and kneel down in time to scoop up your little sister. Laughing softly as she wrapped her small arms around your neck and almost immediately started to sniffle and cry.
“Aw little tiger! I missed you” you exclaimed while hugging her and doing your best to not become choked up.
You stand up as you see your mother and father make there way. Your mother was already crying and your father wore a proud smile.
“Hi ma” you said softly and embrace her tightly before facing your father who pulled you into a tight hug.
“Glad you came back to us son” he whispered.
-
Beep beep beep
It’s insistent and you try to open your eyes to find the source of the annoying sound.
The first thing you notice is the soft bed your in. The next thing was the smell of sterilization, and then the numbness in your body.
You finally work up the strength and slowly open your eyes, your meet with bright lights that make you turn away. And movement is heard to the left.
“Your awake, good. Had us worried for a moment” a woman speaks, her voice kind and soothing.
You open your eyes agin once adjusting to the light and see the doctor checking over your vitals. You look around to see no one else in the infirmary which makes your heart drop.
“W-where is she?” Your voice hoarse from being unused.
“Who?…ah yes your friend. She woke up a few days ago. Should be in the mess hall. Now focus on yourself” the doctor informed while checking your bandages.
For a while you let the silence fill the room, your mind going through what bits and pieces you could remember. Back to the warehouse and your rescuers.
Your owed them your life, and hoped you could find someway to repay them.
“How long? Have I been out?” You finally ask while working up the strength to fully sit up, with the doctors help of couse.
“Since your arrival, almost two weeks. Lost a lot of blood, you were dehydrated and on the verge of starvation, and you lung had almost collapsed when you arrived. To list a few things . Your friend, she was discharged after the first week. Just a few sprains, some deep cuts. I’ll let you go tomorrow if your vitals stay stable. For now just rest. I’ll let your team know your awake”. The doctor gave you no room to ask questions as she left the room, leaving you with your thoughts.
“Team?” You mumble to your self with a deep frown. Other then yourself and Dennis your team was gone. You’d be placed transferred to a different team, probably infantry after recovering.
But you had no current team in your mind.
-
It was about thirty minutes when you picked up on the sound of boots coming towards the infirmary. One set quicker then the rest, the second pair were heavy and swift.
You’d dozed off before hand and jumped when the infirmary door swung open. Greeting you with a bright, shit eating grin and a laugh.
“Your awake!!!” Dennis all but yelled while making her way to you, she was limping a bit but seemed other wise fine. And had all her strength back from the bone crushing hug you received.
“You scared me, didn’t think you were goin’ to wake up” she whispered and you wrapped your arms around her, ignoring the pull of the stitches.
“I’m ok…I’m here” you assure and hug her even tighter if possible. “How are you feeling bug?” You ask and she pulled away now. Her smile small.
“I’m alive, thanks to you. I can start training next week as long as I’m careful” she said and wheezed your hand.
That’s who she was, someone quick to get back in the field when she had the chance. She was a person full of light, even now. After everything you’d both been through you could tell she still had that bright light in her. But today, she seemed especially giddy.
Someone cleared their throat behind you, drawing both your attention to the man with that fisher hat.
“Good to see you awake kid, gave us a scare for a moment” he said with his arms crossed, a gentle smile gracing his features.
“I’m Captain John Price, you can call me Price” he introduced and stepped forward to hold out his hand. You shake it after a moment’s hesitation.
“Your the one who rescued us? Thank you…how can I repay you” yku ask and price seemed surprised and shakes his head.
“You don’t have to repay us for anything, it’s what we do, I’m just sorry we couldn’t find your team sooner” he bowed his head, a show of respect as your mind flashes back to your Nova and Lana. Nova has a wife and son, Lana had their husband.
“Their funerals? I missed them?” You ask and Dennis squeezed your hand even tighter while nodding.
Agin silence filled the room, you missed their funerals. Didn’t get a chance to apologize to their families for failing to protect them. You lean your head back as Price speaks agin.
“Listen kid, I know you just woke up. But I have an offer for you both, dagger here already knows. But I’d like you both to join my task force. I believe your skills as a shifter and her knowledge of working with you while an..animal will be good for the team. Not to mention my team could use the experience with a shifter in combat. I’ll give you the day to think about it, rest up” Price spoke with authority and while his tone was gruff he meant his words kindly. After he gave you the proposition he leaves you with Dennis and your thoughts.
-
Once alone you sigh and shake your head before glancing at Dennis who had moved to carefully sit on the bed beside you.
“So, what do you know about the task force? I can’t assume you’ve spent the last two weeks not getting to know them?” You ask with a small chuckle, making her smile and begin to spill what she had gathered.
“Well there is Price, he’s the captain. He seems nice enough but definitely strict. Then there’s Sergeant Mctavish. Goes by soap, definitely your type, tall annoying but funny. And Scottish” she teased making you laugh and swat at her arm.
“And then there is Sergant Garrick, they seem to call him gaz. He’s sweet, kind of a tense guy but still cool, he’s around our age I think?. Oh! And then there’s the mystery man, also your type. Tall, brooding and mysterious as hell. They call him ghost. And absolutely scary looking fucker if you ask me. Always wearing this skull mask, and it might be real! But to each their own” she sighed dramatically and laid across your legs, making you wince a bit but you made no move to get her off.
“Ya think I’d be into any of these men? Who are all probably twice our age?” You ask, faking a hurt expression as she laughs.
“I think you’d be into any man. Especially if he’s older then you” she hums, making you scoff and shake your head. Though was she wrong?
You’d quickly grown close to Dennis when first meeting, she joined with no family attachments. Either she’d been disowned or the family that did accept her had long passed. She’d become a friend to you, she was family. You both had agreed during a mission that you did indeed love each other but not in a way for a relationship to grow and both of you were happy with how everything turned out. More than friends but not together.
“Mhmm and like your any different?” You counter making her laugh. She sighs and sits up, becoming serious after a moment.
“What do you think? About the offer?” She asks while getting more comfortable beside you, which involved you being pushed to one side of the already small hospital bed.
“Truthfully I don’t know, it doesn’t sound like a bad idea. I mean he said they need a shifter, and they don’t have experience with one. So you’d be teaching them what you know. But I mean, being on a task force with THE Captain Price? Or Ghost? Who’d throw that away? Their all legends” you gush a bit as did she in agreement.
“So we take the offer, see how it goes yah?” Dennis said to which you nod in agreement, a yawn being pulled from you.
There was this silent agreement between the both of you to just take a nap as she pulled the thin blanket of you both. Despite only just waking waking up you had grown tired and didn’t fight sleep when it took you.
-
A few days had passed uneventfully after being released from the infirmary, you still had to take it easy and walked with a slight limp dispite trying to hide it and much to your disappointment shifting was out of the option until you healed more so you didn’t rip open your stitches.
For you, your animal form was most comfortable, especially when in unfamiliar areas surrounded by people you didn’t know. Being a seven foot tall panther scared others, and made you fell more safe.
The most eventful thing was being able to video chat your family, after nearly three weeks of hearing nothing from you, when you’d at least call once a week, they began to fear the worst.
-
You were sitting in your new room, after officially transferring to Task Force 141 you learned each member had a private barrack, a nice change from bunking with several soldiers.
A laptop sat in front of you as your finally connected to the internet and called home. It rang one, twince and then connected.
“Y/N!? We’ve been worried sick!” It was your father who answered, his tone full of worry and some anger. Your mother came over with your sister who lit up when she saw you. Your mother was teary eyed but said nothing for now. Giving your sister a chance to gush about the things you’ve missed.
“Y/N/N!! Guess what!?” She said excitedly while wiggling out of your mothers grasp to sit on your fathers lap.
“What’s up little tigger?” You question curiously seeing her grin grow impossibly wider to reveal small but sharp fangs. It was only now that you noticed the black and orange tail that swayed behind her and your eyes went wide as tears swelled.
“I shifted!!!” She practically screamed with glee, she was eight, not entirely young but still younger then when you first shifted at fifteen. You chuckled and cough to hide the choked up noise that came after. You missed her first shift, something you’d promised to never miss.
“That’s amazing! I’m sorry I wasn’t there Lyra ..” you’d apologize a thousand more times if you could but she didn’t give you the chance.
“It’s ok! Mama said you were saving people! But now we can go to the forest together when you come home!” She was happy, excited, speaking quickly. And while you knew at one point your sister was probably upset she held no anger.
“Hey Ly, I gotta talk to ma and da, how about you pick a book and I’ll read it to you yeah? I know it’s almost bedtime for you” you suggested and the young girl excitedly ran off to her room to find a book. Your mom was the one to speak, her tone shaky and full of worry.
“Y/n, where have you been? You never called, emailed, we never got any letters….” She was on the verge of crying, you could tell. The thought of losing her only son scared her.
“Ma I’m sorry. I uh, my team got in some trouble, mission went wrong…It was bad ma. But I got out, I’m ok…” you didn’t go into details. They understood and your parents faces went from worried to terrified to worried and relived.
“Well, when will you be home? Your sister has a class presentation for “what do you want to be when you grow up” next month and she wants you to be there” he questioned just as your sister returned with her book of choice. Harry Potter.
“I’ll try to be there, I’ve been transferred so I don’t know how things work here” you say while grabbing your phone and opening the books app.
The rest of that night was spent reading and catching up with your family.
-
The fifth day out of the infirmary was when you and Dennis were officially introduced to the rest of your new team.
You were all sitting in a meeting room when Price started to talk.
“Alright men, I’d like to officially introduce you to Dennis Evanstien, call sign Dagger. And Y/N L/N, call sign is kit-” you interrupted a bit stiffly.
“Only Dennis can call me that” you said, which earned you a kick to the ankle from your friend and a quick glance from price. Who at this moment let your interruption pass.
“Anyways, these two will being joining Task Force 141, for now on a test run. And then they will either stay or go. Now, as you men saw, Y/N here is a shifter. First to our team. In the following weeks you will all be training together, you lot need to learn how to work with and against him while in his animal form” the captain explained while handing the rest of the team yours and Dennis’ files.
You watch the team carefully as they scan through the files. Watching for any looks of disgust. Soap, looked intrigued, gaz seemed excited, either be for the fact that he wasn’t the only young one on the team for that you were the first shifter he’s met you couldn’t tell. And then there was ghost, thanks to his mask you couldn’t read his reaction as his eyes remained neutral.
“We have a mission in six weeks time, if not sooner. So I need everyone working fluidly. Take this time to get to know each other through training or recreationally. If there’s no questions, your dismissed” Price finished and Dennis was the first to stand and speak, half dragging you up with her.
“Well! I know that I look forward to working with you fine men! And knocking some of you on your ass” she said rather confidently which earned a laugh from soap and gaz.
“Aye Las, is that a challenge?” Soap asked curiously while standing and you could already tell where this was going.
“It is Scotty” she said, mocking his accent with the added nickname and crossing her arms with a confident grin. Always quick and sharp with her words.
“Ten bucks on Soap” Gaz laughed agin as Soap scoffed and stared at her.
“Twenty on Dags” you add with a small smirk for the shorted nickname you knew she’d give you hell for.
“So, Suds. Accept the challenge” she tilts her head and you can’t help but snicker while glancing around the room. Price was grinning while watching the banter and Ghost was seemingly brooding in his chair. You couldn’t tell, but he was indeed intrigued.
Soap seemed to think for a moment, he could let the teasing pass. Or he could test her skills. And seeing as their day was uneventful he chose to accept.
“Alright Dagger, I’ll see you on the mats” he chuckled before walking out of the meeting room. Slowly after he left so did everyone else, heading their own way until it was time to watch the “competition”.
-
“You cocky spider!!” You tease while slapping Dennis’ shoulder making her laugh and dramatically flop onto your bed. You both bunkered down in your room for a few before the sparing between Soap and Dennis started.
“What!? I wanna know what skills these men have if we will be working with them. Plus, I’ve done nothing but sit around the last few weeks and I’m itching for action. I know your feeling the same way” she teased and started to poke your sides.
You laugh and bat her hand away, wincing at the tender area where a bullet was once imbedded in your side.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m itching as well. But he’s like, six foot something. Your the shortest one here and he has more experience. I don’t want to see you get your ass handed to you” you laugh making Dennis sit up and scowl at you.
“Yeah? And your a six foot two shifter no less. And yet any time we spar I always hand you, your ass” she smacks your leg.
“We both have the same amount of experience, plus. I hold back for you” you mock while sitting up, staring at her with your now feline like eyes and sharp toothed grin.
Dennis stares at you in shock and stand up while crossing her arms.
“You better be lying” she grumbled while turning her back towards you, every the dramatic one.
But your tone turned serious while you pulled her by the waist back into bed.
“I’m not bug and you know that. Naturally Im a lot bigger and stronger then you. Your human, and while I’ll never doubt your skills and strength. I hold back because I don’t wish to hurt my friends. I mean it as no insult” you explained while she leaned back against you and rolled her eyes.
“Mhm fine. I suppose your right. But do you think you’d hold back against them?” She asked curiously and you grin, agin revealing your fangs. Something you always preferred to have exposed.
“Well I don’t know. I don’t think I’d hold back against the big guy with the mask, Ghost? No I’d probably go all out if I were fighting him. As for the rest, at first Yeah. Until I knew what they could handle. Or at least until you teach them how to spar with me” you say and shrug your shoulders before poking her sides making Deniss laugh and squeal. Then you perked up to the knock at your door.
“Uh..soaps waiting for you at training area…sorry for interrupting” it was Kyle. Who sounded rather awkward and then you both put together why. Making you both bust out laughing.
“Alright kitty, come watch me kick a Scotsman’s ass” she said triumphantly and dragged you out of bed with her and to the training area
-
Alrighty!!! I’m stopping this here because of the fact that it’s quite long, and I don’t want to make it drag on! Let me know how you like this chapter as not to much is going on. And I hope you look forward to chapter 3!!! Also!!

TASK FORCE 141 X MALE!READER (PLATONIC TO START)
CHAPTER ONE: PROTECT HER
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WARNING: The following contains mentions and descriptions of death, blood, cursing, bones breaking, torture, shooting
AN: This will be the first chapter in many. My goal is to post once a week at the end of the week based on my own life and availability and the response/feedback from readers! Please enjoy!!
WORD COUNT: A LOT
‘Too much anger can make you lash out. Don’t lose control’
Your fathers voice echoed in your head and shortly numbed the dull ache throughout your body. Your head throbbed, your throat was so dry it felt like sand paper and you struggled to keep your eyes open.
Someone was calling out to you and it sounded so far away. Your head lulled to the side
-
Telling your family you’d be joining the military right after high school at eighteen surprised them to say the least. Your mother, protective and loving tried to persuade you to do otherwise but when she saw the determination you had, she of course supported you. Even if it scared her.
Your father was proud and worried. Made you promise to come home to them safe. He hugged you the longest on your last day before basic training
And your baby sister, you were her superhero, her big brother her best friend and protector. She was two years old when you left. She cried for hours when you left. But to the best of her ability, would write letters and draw you pictures along with your parents while in basic training.
-
“Y/N! Wake up!” Someone’s voice called out agin, this time more clear. You could hear they were scared.
You tried to open your eyes, this time succeeding if only partially. Taking in your surroundings wasn’t to hard, you’re in a dimly lit room sitting in a semi circle with two other people from what you could tell.
That’s when your brain started to get back on track and register the pain you’re in, as well as how you got there.
-
Basic training felt like a fun day at the beach now that you think back to it. While you were given a hard time and thrown challenges left and right you would take it all again then being on this shit show if a mission.
“Dagger give me a sit rep” you called into the coms over the gunfire ahead. This wasn’t your first mission, but it wasn’t supposed to be like this.
“Lookin’ solid here kitty, Lana’s here but their com is down, their unharmed. What about you and Capt’n Nova?” She responded in a light tone. Dagger, that’s her call sign, was the light during shitty situations. On a normal day her tone would be enjoyed.
Today it reminded you that it could be the last time you hear her.
-
“You can’t be takin’ a cat nap at a time like this kitty” that same light tone masked her fear. Masked the wheezing, troubled breathing of the third person in the room. “They did a number on you this time..” now here voice sounded more concerned, tense and shaky.
“Y’know I hate that call sign. Give me a sit rep yeah?” you grumble and pull at your restraints, wincing as the thick rope rubbed the skin raw. But it’s rope, you can get out of this, can save your team. “How long have we been here?” You ask, brain still foggy as you run through memories.
“ I- m’ tired” was the response from lana, they sounded drunk, weak and raspy.
“Gotta stay awake yeah L? You owe me a beer remember. Only been two days maybe? Jus’ stay awake” Dagger pleaded quietly. The team was close, family. But the talking was cut short but a door being slammed open.
-
“Nova’s gone, h…he got hit and I couldn’t stop the bleeding” your tone was shaky as you shouted in the com’s and looked at your captains dead form. A reminder that you could be next. A reminder that no mission was perfect.
Raising your gun you peered around the corner of the crumbling wall you used as cover. The enemy had larger numbers than what you were prepared for. This was supposed to be a simple mission to gather intel. But the information given to your team was either wrong or old and ended in an ambush.
“Ki- e-eat!” Your coms crackled to life but was full of static. Your heart was pound in your ears at this point. Anxiety making your skin prickle with the animal under your skin begging to escape the situation
“Repeat! Dagger repeat!!” You shouted while shooting down two enemy soldiers who grew to close.
“RETREAT!!”
-
“Ahhh everyone’s awake, good. Let’s get back to business” a man with a gruff and heavy Russian accent spoke.
“Why did you come here, and don’t lie. My patience for your lot has run thin. And one of you isn’t looking to well” he continues and walked towards Lana, who looked like they were barely breathing at this point.
You looked at Dagger, her face was stoic but her eyes held her fear. Now that you were more aware you could see she was badly beaten. One eye was swelled shut, blood was caked near her hair, she was visibly shaking.
You couldn’t tell nor care what state you were in. No, for now you focused on your task. Using your claws to scratch and wear down the ropes around your wrist.
But the both of you staid silent. Both of you endured the beatings and torture. But Lana, after two days they fell asleep and didn’t wake back up. Dagger cried and screamed at their death, cursed out your tormentors and threatened them with a renewed energy as they dragged her away. You gained a renewed energy but in the form of pure anger, it fueled you to rip through the worn down ropes once the doors were closed.
Deep down it scared you to touch into this anger. But her safety was all that mattered.
-
The first time you shifted in front of your permanent team was right after basic training and before your first mission. In basics you had to shift in front of other recruits and spar with them in your panther from. It gave both you and the other recruits a send of mind to be ready for everything.
But with your new team you had hoped to at least hide it. It’s not that you weren’t proud of being a shifter, you were very proud. But you didn’t want to be treated differently and not everyone could be as accepting.
“It’s just a trust exercise” your captain explained.
“We all need to trust each other to be a working team. So no secrets” he continued before turning your teammates attention to you.
Your shift was fluid, bones popping effortlessly with minimal discomfort as your once human body changed into the form of a oversized black panther. Your eyes became an emerald green instead of the honey gold they normally held.
Your captain continues as you stretch, eyeing your companions cautiously. Looking for any signs of fear or disgust.
“Y/N here can’t speak to us while like this. So before our first mission we will need to figure out a quick and easy way to communicate with each other” he said rather proudly.
Nova, his call sign, was the oldest in the group. Being forty-two he was your leader. Then there was Lana, she was thirty and from what you knew had no call signs. Then there was Dennis her call sign Dagger. You found out why when you first shifted. She’s the same age as you, 23 both young.
“So your a giant fuckin’ cat? Ha! That’s what imma call you. Kitty!” She was quickly and sharp with her words. Leaving little to no room to argue. And so your first call sign was created
You had growled at her and she started calling you ‘grumpy cat’ in response
-
Dagger jumped at the suddenness of you breaking free. They had done a number on both of you after Lana died. Trying to get information you didn’t even have.
After freeing your hands you did the same for your legs and stood up quickly, it was time to get out. Only thing is, as soon as you stood you were falling. Days of being seated, beaten and starved left your body weak. Your knees hit the ground painfully but still you pushed on, half crawling to her.
She spoke as your worked on her bindings.
“What are you doing? You can’t just play savior! We have no idea where we are, you look like a corpse and I’m sure I’m no better!” She whisper yelled as you got her hand free.
“I’m not letting you die too, no one’s coming for us obviously. I can get us out” you spoke in a now shaky tone while scratching quickly at the ropes around Daggers ankles.
That’s what you believed, who would come for a team with soldiers practically fresh out of basic. It’s been at least a week. It’s what you thought, your on your own.
-
Two days after your team’s capture and death if your captain. Kate Laswell called in the best team she knew. Why? Because shifters were rare in the military, because her wife was a shifter so it hit closer to home then she liked.
Now here she sat in her office with John Price, ready to be filled in on why she called.
“Kate,” his voice gruffly broke the silence. “Why send us in? Why not a different team? I need to know what my men will be stepping into to. No need to know crap” he spoke matter of factly and for this matter she obliged.
With a sigh she pulled out four files. One was stamped in big red letters ‘KIA’ the other three were stamped ‘MIA’.
“A team was sent out for a basic intel grab and go there wasn’t supposed to be to many enemy soldiers. But they were ambushed…their captain was killed and we can only assume that the rest were captured..by Russians” she explained while sliding the files to Price.
“That still doesn’t explain why you want us specifically to go in? Why not a different team?” He interjected while reading through the files until he got to yours. Laswell continued
“Y/N L/N, young kid and smart, graduated one of the best in his group. He’s a shifter” she said while letting Price read through the folder. “If he’s alive, I believe he can be a good addition to your Task Force. He’s excellent in the stealth missions he’s done, loyal to the bone. Plus your team could use the fresh blood...”
Price was looking at Laswell now, he could see in her eyes that there was more to this. Something more personal and he understood that. He trusts Laswell. “Where do we start?” Was his only answer.
-
Dagger was free. The easiest step completed, you both leaned against the wall of the room you’ve been confined to.
“Alright Kitty, what now? We have no weapons, no idea where we are at!” She whisper yelled to you, who much to her concern looked like you were about to pass out.
Your mind was racing, she was right of course, what would you do after the fact. Where would you go? She was your priority, you had to keep her safe. Get her home to her family. But what if you failed?
What if? What if? What if?
“I-“ you take a deep breath to calm yourself, you’d be no use if you started panicking. “I can shift, carry you out of here. If you find a gun take it and start shooting. We can look for a place to lay low. I just need you to keep guard while i shift. Can you do that bug?” you offer your plan tensely. She stared at you, here eyes held so many emotions at once.
Using that nickname, something personal between you both seemed to anchor her in the moment. Give her hope. She nods and stands a bit taller.
You take a few steps back, with your injuries and exhaustion you knew shifting wouldn’t be easy. She didn’t, she needed you strong. You needed to be strong as you crouch down.
It came naturally, not something you had to think about for it to happen. But it hurt, wounds that had caked closed split back open. Bones cracked and moved slowly as if stuck in molasses.
Nothing comes easy in life, as you had started shifting, the sound of heavy foot steps echoed behind the door. Dagger went wide eyed and reacted quickly, pushing a chair against the door in hopes to buy some time.
A pained growl is ripped from you as your shift continues, alerting the man behind the door who started trying to kick the door in.
As soon as the door swings open it’s one man, gun raised and aimed at Dagger. Without hesitation you lunge forward. The only though in your mind
‘Protect her’
-
By the time a week went but Laswell finally located where you and your team where being held. Some old warehouse in the middle of the jungle that was being used as an outpost for the Russians.
The team had been briefed that their mission was a search and rescue. Get in and out with minimal damage.
They were not told that you were a shifter. Just that it was imperative to find you alive.
“Wheels up in ten!” Price shouted as the task force got their gear and weapons ready.
“wander if this kid is some big wigs son?” It was Soap who questioned curiously, he was met with a grunt from Ghost to his left and Gaz laughed a bit.
“Maybe we’ll be handsomely rewarded” Kyle joked while standing with his things and slapping Soap in the shoulder. “Let’s get this done yeah?”
-
HAHAHA leaving the first chapter with a sudden stop? A cliff hanger? How incredibly evil. Hahahahh please let me know how you liked this first half!!! My goal is to post once a week with enough feed back.
ANYWAY!! I HOPE YOU ENJOYED!!!!

141 x Male!reader (shifter Au)
So! I wanted to give y’all more information about the shifters in this AU before posting the first chapter (should be out soon)
These questions are some i have worked on for a while. Since while I’m making this a Modern Warfare AU. The character you read as, and the questions/rule’s below all come from a separate project I’m doing that was worked into this!
From this point on, questions from me made after I post this will be in green. Questions in blue will be from my lovely readers!!
To start:
What is a shifter in this AU?
Good question! A shifter is a person, who’s born with the ability to shapeshift into an and animal whether it be an avian, reptile, aquatic animal and so in.
This also means some people can be shifters of domesticated animals like basic cats and dogs. Not everyone has a more wild creature.
Can a shifter turn a human?
Another great question and no. That would make them a were-creature and that’s not what I’m going for. While it would be cool it can also create many issues.
What are the physical differences between a shifter and human?
It depends. In my story 90% of shifters look just like any other human being. From head to toe you really can’t tell.
Now! That doesn’t mean it’s always like that. Shifters have ability to let more animal features take over their features.
Some examples include: an avian allowing feathers to grow through their hair or they pupils became slit shapes. Or a reptile having faint patches of scales. An aquatic having gills while swimming in a pool. Or some having claws out on a regular basis. Or faint markings like spots or stripes.
It all depends on the person, and partially on how accepting the community around them is.
Are there shifters who prefer living an animalistic life?
Yes! In the shifter community these people are known as “ferals” or “nomads”
And their not looked down upon. Some people admire them and their protected under hunting laws.
In fact that brings us to our next question!
What kind of laws are in place that go against or protect shifters and humans from each other?
Let’s start with the protection laws! And I’ll just list these off for the most part.
Shifters cannot hunt a human obviously. If a shifter harms a human there must be a probable cause for self defense or protection of property or family. This goes the same for humans to shifters
Any shifter who wishes to live a nomadic/feral lifestyle is REQUIRED to let areas of power such as (police offices, hunting and game wardens and mayors ect) know who they are and what their form looks like. They are always required to wear a item of identification such as collars, scarves, chains or specific plants to make hunters aware that they are not game.
Following this rule, if a normadic shifter is killed with malicious intent (meaning the hunter saw and choose to ignore the shifter’s identification) said hunter while be charged with murder and punished accordingly. But if a shifter is killed and lacked any identification an investigation will take place and as long as the hunter is proven not guilty nothing can be down and any family members who may more the death will be given compensation for the tragic accident
There are serval laws that protect shifters and humans from discrimination against each other. A shifter can’t be fired/not hired for being a shifter or specific animal and vice versa
Shifters do need hunting license, this was agreed upon to help protect local while from dwindling or overgrowing of the area lacks many predators. They do not need licenses for flying or swimming though
And while I think of more laws or are given ideas I will add to this
So are there only predator shifters? What about bugs?
Fabulous question! To start no! Shifters can be predator or prey and they both live happily with each other. There are deer, horses, even mice and such. Prey shifters have laws protecting them from predators shifters as well to insure peaceful living. But there are no bug shifters, for me it’s not the best? I feel like they’d be to small and I’m to much danger that even if there was they’d live happily in hiding to avoid being squished
At what age does a shifter first change?
Well normally this’ll vary person to person from how they take care of themselves to stimulants around them. But on average most shift by 16 and this earliest shift recorded was at 3 years of age
Why are shifters a dying species?
That’s because of humans sadly. Before laws and regulations were in place, when shifters were first discovered humans were scared. And what does one do when scared? Protect what you know and kill what you think is dangerous. It took serval years long ago to reach peace
Are there clothing differences for shifters in the military?
So this idea comes from a TikTok artist and I do have their permission to use this idea. The artist is (@the_dumbestbitch)
But yes, Chirps (the reader) is not the only shifter in the military and obviously not the first so there was some trial and error to find a military uniform that worked if a shifter needed to quickly shift. Obviously no shifter wants to be naked when they shift back so after some testing. A special skin tight clothing was made.
These clothing items were normally one a piece sleeveless suit that went on under all their gear. So In emergency’s or when needed a shifter could quickly shed their gear and turn. All while being able to shift back and not be as naked as the day they were born.
Do shifters have more then two forms?
Yes and no? So to start the two forms are their human and animal. That’s a given, but some people can have more than one and this depends on family lineage. Now a wolf shifter and a feline shifter can have kids together. But the child in question will only take after one parent (so no hybrids/ligers and so on) but here is where bloodline comes into play. Say a human and a shifter get together, they can have kids, those kids have a 50/50 chance of coming out fully human or fully shifter no in between. And a child from a human and shifter could only have those to forms.
Now! If two shifters have a child no matter of the animals the bloodline is stronger and depending on the strength of said like going further back the child had a chance to have more then two forms. This all depends on how common it is in your families history. Take Chirps for example
Chirps comes from a strong feline family, mother was a tiger, father was a panther. Grandma was a lion and grandfather was a panther. It goes back a long way with a few wolves at one point but never a human so the shifter gene is incredibly strong in chirps.
So chirps could have more then the two. He’s never tried. So who knows?
But for the most part extra forms come down to two basic things. Bloodline and emotions. Fear is a powerful thing. Anger can be a dangerous fuel. Sorrow can be a blanket that suffocates. All of this can be portrayed in the form someone takes. All these emotions can unlock new and dangerous things.
Are any 141 members going to be shifters?
Honestly I don’t know. What do you think? I truly want options from others. I want the reader to feel unique and special. (In my experience AND THIS IS MY OPINION. I AM NOT SHAMING OTHER WRITERS) but when it comes to reading shifter story’s a lot of it is the omegaverse or smut driven and there’s nothing wrong with that. I just want something for readers that’s not smut driven. And yes I know there are plenty of incredible writers who have story’s that aren’t driven by smut. But at the same time I don’t find a lot of shapeshifter story’s
How tall is a shifters animal form?
This is intierly based in their human highs. For example a normal adult lion can be anywhere from 6/8 feet tall nose to tail (I think)
Now this is how it works to me? Say someone whines a shifter lion is 5,5. Their animal from while average out at 6 or so feet tall. Their second form will never be smaller then a normal animal.
But they can be bigger!! Agin, take Chirps for example. As a human he’s about 6,3 (almost as tall as ghost. Dennis is 5,10)
An average adult panther is about 5/7 feet from nose to tail and height is normally 2.33 inches (I think) so for Chirps there is a big different in normal animal height.
Wanna know how I fix that? With the magic of being a writer of creative liberty hahahaha.
Anyone, Chirps Panther from stand at about 7 feet tall at the shoulder. He’s a big bish (taller then ghost like that) but this leaders to another question asked but a friend.
Can shifters pick and chose their size when that large or in general?
And the answer is yes, with practice. So for Chirps his ‘true height’ while in animal form is 7ft at the shoulder. Which in most scenarios is extremely impractical, especially in situations where stealth is required. Chirps rarely using his true height, only in cases like chapter one where he needs to carry someone on his back to safety while also fighting. It’s a bulkier form even if he’s still slender. Normally he chooses a height of about 5.10 at the shoulder. Still large but more comfortable for him. The smallest he’ll normally shift to is that of an average panther.
What inspired me to make the shifter Au Chirps story in general?
A lot actually inspired me for this AU and the story in general. The episode Shapeshifters from “love death and robots” played into my inspiration for the AU. And “Teen wolf” inspired some of the ability’s or lore for my actual story. As well as “wolf blood” (does anyone temper that show?). And even “supernatural”. And some things like eye colors, abilities and weaknesses are inspired from these shows as you’ll see in further chapters.
But for now this is it. This will be pinned on my blog for easy access. If you have any questions please, please ask them! I’ll be happy to answer them on here!!! Same for suggestions that I can go off of for the story to come!! And with that, have an amazing time!! Don’t be scared to reach out!!

Task force 141 x Male!reader(oc?) (platonic to start)
Hello!! So this is my first time writing on here in a very long while! This post will be more of a get to know me/setting up the AU to what I’ll be writing as well as a starter for people to get to know the MC.
I want your opinions before I post the first chapter so this is just an info pamphlet?
But I, like many others have fallen down the rabbit hole of Modern Warfares 141 men. So a few things to start for the future.
My writing is 18+ not because of smut (I may or may not write this) but because of dark themes such as writings mentioning PTSD, gore, violence, weapons, death and so on. Each chapter or one shot will be given warnings in according to what there is.
My idea for this story is an AU. It won’t follow the video game exactly (gives me more room for creativity) but all characters will be from MWII. And while I know some of the characters lore I’m not an expert. This is simply my interpretation of characters but I’m more than happy to accept criticism and help.
The au will be mainly for the character (you) who’s less then human, not over powered as they have no actual magical powers unless you consider shapeshifting. For this Au shapeshifters are a dying breed, and while not unknown there aren’t many full blooded shifters left in the world. And while shifters have the same rights as anyone else, not many join the military because of the dangers and their dying numbers.
MEETING THE MC (you!)
You are born to a kind and loving family, but while they supported you, they weren’t all to happy when you decided to join.
Your like the 141’s Guard Cat, loyal to the bone and protective to all hell. But of course you weren’t just immediately placed on 141
Training was hell. While trained besides humans, being the only shifter in your unit meant the higher ups gave you a hard time and pushed you further. You were naturally stronger than the average human, and growing up a bit spoiled meant you needed to hone all your skills. But you prevailed in close combat and stealth training. And you were too figity for sniper training.
Being a shifter in military training had its highs and lows. Some highs being you finally felt useful, you enjoyed being able to constantly train and push yourself to new limits as your home life was full of high society socials and studying. You enjoyed the rush of training and making a few memorable friends. But the downside, training didn’t teach you how to handle a comrades death, didn’t teach you that after your first mission you could be plagued with nightmares. That after being captured the light you held would be sniffed out like a dying flame.
-
Now I don’t wanna spoil the first chapter and I want to wait for some feedback if I get any. But some background information for the characters you read as.
Will mainly be addressed by their call sign, Kitty (gained after their first mission), Chirps (has not gained this call sign yet), Red and Chaos (not yet received.
The only prominent features to be discribed would be their dark hair and honey brown eyes and any scars the rest will be left to your imagination:).
But yeah I think that’s it, please ask any questions before the first chapter and please do give feed back!

Playing Victim
Summary: As a vampire on the hunt, you find a particularly delicious specimen hanging out in a bar and decide to take him for a spin. Pairing: Dean x Vampire!Reader Word Count: 2488 Warnings: Blood (duh), SPN canon wounds, smut, sub!Dean, dom!Reader, fluff, extreme… love bites? A/N:  This takes care of my Roleplay square for @spnkinkbingo. Now, if you read this quick, some people might consider it dub-con, but I assure you, both parties are consenting and you’ll see that at the end. I’m adding that warning just because of how I wrote it. The reader is very aggressive, but Dean likes it because he’s a cute wittle sub baby. This was beta’d by @dean-winchesters-bacon. Enjoy!

Bars were perfect hunting grounds. Whether it was drunk men that were too distracted by some cleavage to notice an extra set of teeth, or the occasional drunk woman who was giggling about finally finding their soul sister… it was like shooting fish in a barrel. You were slowly nursing a glass of bottom shelf whiskey and surveying the crowd when you heard the deep timbre of his voice to your left.
“Hey sweetheart, this seat taken?”
Glancing up from the glass in your hands, you smiled, shaking your head no and gesturing to the empty stool next to you. The man was tall, sexy, and had the brightest green eyes you’d ever seen. You saw the glint of mischief in the corner of his eye as he straddled the stool and flagged down the bartender, neatly folding his suit jacket and laying it on the back of his chair.
The bartender returned with a much higher shelf brand of whiskey than your own and set it down in front of the stranger. You were mentally counting down the seconds, and you only got to three before he took a sip of his drink and turned toward you.
