Some specifics on him I can’t speak of because of spoilers to EW, but he’s an artisan chef and food alchemist! His grandmother hopped outta the woods and made her way down to Thavnair in search of a new sort of life and perspectives. They adopted Hannish names with the intent of integrating with the locals, and initially made their living crafting silks - hence their surname. Though all family members ultimately contribute to the craft, they’re permitted their own pursuits.
