THANKFULLY, TAKEI AND NICHOLS WERE ULTIMATELY HIRED TO VOICE THEIR CHARACTERS, BUT ONLY AFTER LEONARD NIMOY TOLD THE PRODUCERS HE WOULD REFUSE TO PLAY SPOCK IF NICHOLS AND TAKEI WERE NOT CAST.
