the real “problem with political correctness” is not that it’s considered offensive to use slurs, but that there are now many “progressive” environments where saying the right things is more important than doing the right thing. it’s why it’s so easy for abusers to gain traction in leftist circles (they learn the right words quickly and employ them to frame their own behavior as progressive); it’s why so much potential activist energy gets poured into fighting about language; it’s why moderate liberals didn’t believe fer/guson had a problem until the police emails with actual racist language were leaked. (you can do racist things, you just can’t SAY racist things.) i don’t have a neat conclusion here but a related point is that i’m so much happier since i started focusing on like, being a good kind caring person instead of trying to remove the word “crazy” from the vocabulary of everyone in my family

Just to answer your question about "boho" being a slur, no I wouldn't considered a slur, because I've never had it used in an attempt to insult me or used in a negative way. The slur for Bohemian is "bohunk". (I spelled it out because not many people actually know this word, but if replying to this post, please use an astrix somewhere in that word, as it is considered offensive language)

So, going over it more with my husband and literally, she wants him to build the entire mining rig, then set it up in her basement, set up all the programs and then do all the maintenance. While she makes most/all the money. My husband doesnt want to have to go up there everytime he needs to do work on the computer, so he wants to convince her that he should keep the rig in our house. So he would do all the research on the parts, order all the parts, build the rig, use our house space to keep it, set up all the programs, do all the maintenance and pay for the electricity to run it. And then my mom would get 70% of the profits (after electricity costs)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I asked WHY that seemed fair. My mom was literally providing nothing but the capital. If anything, we should pay her a rental fee.
And I informed him that once she saw a ROI, she would just ask him to build another one. My husband said he could use it as a means to buy the first one off her but I told him "what incentive would she have to sell? She's making $100/day off the first computer while doing no work and spending no costs and sacrificing no space. She can just spend another several thousand dollars and make $200/day at no additional opportunity cost, and in 6 months she'd see an ROI on that too."
I'm way too familiar with her methods. I'm not letting her make $36k a year off my husband work while we live off food stamps.
My mom is always looking for get rich quick with no effort schemes. Like, she tried being an influencer for a year, i think she had a blog for a while, she's obsessed with Shark Tank and Mad Money.
So when she started talking about Bitcoin and crypto I got really annoyed, because my dad (my parents are divorced) invested in Bitcoin and some others forever ago and it's been something we're really into from a technology standpoint not a get rich quick investment.
Well, my husband is pretty computer savvy and builds gaming computers all the time. So he has a friend who built a mining rig and is making $200/day off it. So my husband was able to set up a little hashpooling on our home computers and it gets us about $10, nothing big, but he's been looking into getting parts to mine (no easy feat, parts are expensive).
I told him "don't tell my mom, she'll turn around and ask how she can just buy a fully set up mining rig and then make money doing nothing".
He goes "oh I'm gonna get her to pay me to do it and then just give her a cut of our profits".
So, on one hand, I'm kinda excited because I've been wanting to do mining for a while but on the other hand I'm just so irritated by my mom's general avarice and frankly lack of respect for the knowledge and research that goes into building computers and rigs.

OMG this
My parents when I wear running shorts: are you sure those aren’t too short? Are you comfortable with those? Oh, I might see your butt, maybe you should change.
My parents when I wear a long skirt: are you orthodox now? You look like you’re about to go to shul! You look a little frumpy...

I'm listening...
to any of my fellow Irish Jews, may I just propose: schmaltz and gribbenes colcannon
I made it for the first time last night and it was SO good. if you reserve some of the water the potatoes are boiled in, and use slightly more fat than the recipe calls for, the potatoes get creamy without even needing to track down a dairy-free milk.

I just learned that there was supposed to be an *Eretz* Pavilion at Epcot but it was abandoned because of security concerns (and absolutely rightly so. Let's be real, we would have NEVER been allowed to have this). But there are blue prints and I'm literally crying for what we could have had:

A Native American man performs a war victory dance as other cheer him on, in Albuquerque, NM
Not only did Black women and other Black people deliver key states for the DNC, but the Navajo, Apache, Pueblo, and Hopi Nations delivered, as well. It is past time for the struggles of Native Americans to be recognized, atoned for, and righted.

I'm all vibing off fascist tears and all right now, but for real I'm super pissed about what happened to the bdu'im this weekend and as previously stated, I pretty much have no way of talking about it because any criticism will be seen as anti-tzioni.
It's times like this I wish I spoke better Hebrew. I've heard there's valid criticism in Hebrew language media.

Castiel is the Christianization of קפציאל‎
So my brain went through this thought process today, which means you need to see it too:
In Hebrew, angel names have meanings
For instance, Gavriel includes the root g-v-r, which like the word gevurah, means strength.
Uriel includes the root u-r, which like the word or, means light.
Raphael includes r-f-a, which like word refuah, means healing.
Castiel.... is not an actual angel name. But, if it were, what could the root be? Perhaps k-s-t, which like the word keshet, means.... rainbow.

“Dear Friends, The levaya (funeral) for HaRav Ya’akov Zvi ben David Arieh z’l, Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, will take place this afternoon in line with current UK Government COVID guidelines. Those who wish are invited to say Tehillim (Psalms) 23, 39, 91 and 130 during this time. The hespeidim (eulogies) will be recorded and placed online later today. The Office of Rabbi Sacks”
— Email received from the office of Rabbi Sacks. What a sad day, to have lost such an erudite religious scholar and thought leader in modern Britain. May his memory be for a blessing.

Side note: there are instances of the six pointed star being used in other cultures, but they generally are not isolated like ours is and have some variation so that it's clear that it's a six pointed star NOT a Magen David. Please know the difference
Please do not use the Star of David if you’re not Jewish! It is a religious and cultural symbol associated with the holocaust aka a genocide. Do not use it for your aesthetic
Do not call it just an image It is so much more than that. If you get told not to use it by a Jew, then stop using it. Do not argue with us. Do not pull the “Atheist Card”.  Signed Your local pissed of jew (Goyim aka non jews, feel free to rb)

I like how I was accused of not being a true Tzioni because I said that there was racism in Eretz.
Like, I'm sorry, because I'm pointing out that there's rot in the meat, you're calling me a vegetarian? I just want meat without rot.
