tevis looks at the risen who seems insistent on following him. normally, he'd cast a glance at most before vanishing into the shadows, never to be seen again, and hopefully never needing a hand to be rezzed again, but this one? he squints his eyes.

right. she was the nightstalker who sought him out for advice. he never had the heart to turn her away -- hell, he still keeps the cloak piece in one of his pockets -- but at the same time, it's not as if tevis had been expecting to see her again. she-- what was her name again? something to do with dreams- tevis isn't sure, it'll come back to him eventually. doesn't matter. she knows cayde, but it doesn't seem as if the two of them are all buddy-buddy.

well, you ask chance to topple a mountain and it'll either send a breeze, or a warsat crashing down on top of you, there's no way to predict what'll happen next.

guess of all people he was bound to meet again, it has to be another nightstalker. they have a way of congregating.

he sighs. maybe he is being a little harsh. "...just ain't used to havin' someone close enough to reach any distress signals." tevis also isn't used to his ghost sending them out in the first place. that isn't to say she doesn't try, but the last thing tevis wants is the wrong person finding him in a vulnerable spot, and cedar respects that.

𝐑𝐏 𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐄 . 𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐓𝐎 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐏 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐌𝐔𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐒?

Trying to find people to write with can be intimidating! Especially if you are new to the RPC, or simply new to a fandom. So here are a few tips and tricks to find rp partners to write with! This is not an exhaustive list, and not everything will apply to every situation, but hopefully it will be helpful.

Make a promo: making a promo for your blog can be a good way to have new mutuals. If your blog is new, and you can't rely on mutuals reblogging your promo and making it circulate, you can use tags to make sure people will see your promo. Use tags relevant to your blog's genre or fandom like indie rpc, horror rp, fantasy rp, stranger things rp... A promo doesn't have to be fancy! There are free templates you can use, or even a simple picture with a description of your blog can go a long way.

Send a message: once you have followed a blog (and read their rules!) try to send a little message to the mun. It does not need to be complicated, but if you add in an idea for muses or plots, it's more likely to pique the mun's interest. Here is an example: "Hello! I followed your blog because I really like your muse(s), and I was thinking they could work well with my muse."

Post open starters, (or examples of your writing) on your blog: if your blog is very new, and you don't have any rp partners yet, it means there is no writing on your blog. But a lot of people like to read a mun's style before following them. So, people are more likely to follow your blog if they can see writing! An open starter is a rp starter that is open to anyone, unlike a closed starter that is directed at a specific mun. It can be mutuals only or not, but I would suggest keeping it open to non-mutuals if you are looking for new partners. Just like with a promo, use tags that are relevant, so people can find it!

Reply to other people's opens: you can find people's open starters on the tags, or on their blogs, and replying to them might lead to a fun new interaction! But be sure to check if the open is open to non-mutuals before replying.

Respect people's rules: this is very important if you are looking for new mutuals. Whether you are trying to reach out, or trying to be noticed by a mun, remember to respect their rules! Breaking their rules is only going to deter them from following back. For example, if someone specified that they do not want asks from non-mutuals, sending an ask anyway might only be perceived as rude.

Add rules and a muse/about page: a lot of people are reluctant to follow a blog without any info or rules. It does not need to be long, and can even be added to a pinned post under a read more! But some basic info on your muses (especially if they're an OC) and some guidelines are very important. You can read a more detailed PSA on the subject here.

Trim your posts: this is something you might actually find a lot in people's rules, them asking for posts to be trimmed. So what does it mean? It simply means that very long thread reblog chains will clog people's dash, and it's something that might deter people from following your blog. There are many tutorials on tumblr explaining how to trim posts, but here is a master post on the subject, made by @rpschtuff.

Fill in people's interest trackers: interest trackers are usually google sheets where you can select the muses you are interested in. It might help the mun know what you had in mind, especially if you do not want to reach out and send a message. However, not all interest trackers are open to non-mutuals! Be sure to check before filling it in.

TLDR: You can make a promo, reach out to people, or post an open starter. You can also reply to other people's opens, and fill in their interest trackers. But remember to respect people's rules! It's also best to have rules/about pages, and to trim your posts.
