I feel like people in this hobby are far too quick to forgive.  There is no reason you should continue to allow someone’s numerous and sudden personal tragedies to prevent you from filing a paypal claim against them for the hundreds of dollars you sent them for something you haven’t received.  A responsible seller contacts YOU when something goes wrong, not the other way around.  The way I deal with these kinds of things is to ask them, wait a week (everyone will usually tell you they’ll ship out or they’ll offer a refund) and then when I don’t get it in a week, boom, claim.  I’ve dealt with Bluebird Doll Shoppe ( currently A doll shoppe too) and have had her tell me about multiple tragedies only to send off an incomplete package a month late and then try to blame it on the mail.  When I got the package, there were clearly empty bags placed inside to make it seem like the mail had been gone through, however, the envelope was intact.
I’ve seen people deal with Hellcorgi (formerly Kleinkrew) not shipping their expensive items either from purchase or trade and people are so quick to say “FORGIVE HER LET HER FIX HER MISTAKES” and yet, she never has.
It breaks my heart to see you guys waste your money on stuff like this.  Defend yourselves, you’re the only one who’s going to come to your aide.

Watercolor pencils
Some people like them, some people don’t.  I have some tips on how best to use them.
1.  Brands;  Some brands do impart more pigment more easily than others.  I have used Derwent, Artist Loft, Crayola and Faber-Castell so that’s what I’ll be covering here.
I personally prefer the Derwent over all others.  They put out a lot of color and are easy to draw on sealant with.  The biggest con I have experienced is it’s really REALLY easy to over water them but it’s trial and error.  They are expensive but I get almost all my art supplies at Michael’s or Joanne’s and each of these places pump out endless coupons.
Artist Loft was a bust for me.  The pencils were so waxy they barely put out any color and I had to do all the mixing one drop of water at a time for barely any result and drawing over sealant was a chore and ended up in having to completely wipe and re-seal the head.  They were the cheapest but they’re really not worth it.
Crayola and Faber-Castell were alright.  The results I got from both of them were similar and if I really had to judge them based on each other, Faber-Castell are the better of the two.  It was harder to draw on sealant with them unless the sealant was super toothy and even then it was easy to lay it on too thick.  Faber-Castell are the pricier of the 2 but again, I feel like both are good value for the money.
2. Usage; it takes a lot of practice to get this down and I’m learning more and more every time I use them.  These are things that have worked for me.
Use water on them!  I see people complaining that their face-ups look like they were done with a crayon and I can tell you, it’s because you’re not using water.  I personally like to lay color down on a rough surface and mix water from there.  It gives me a little more control but if you’re drawing on eyeliner or brows, follow up with a fine brush and a little water.
I personally will usually draw out what I want in a super light color first just to see how it looks layed out.  This really helps with eyebrows.
Layer them.  If you need something to look solid but you’re having trouble getting it on the first try, layer the color after each coat of sealant.
Practice!  No one gets it right the first try and the great thing about watercolor pencils is you can just rinse it off (unless it’s a Black one.  Then you’ll just have to weep openly and beg it to come off).
3. Caution!
Don’t get the pencils themselves wet.  lay color down and moisten it that way.  If you do it by dipping the pencil in water,  it will soften the entire core of the pencil and when you need to sharpen them, the core will crumble.

I see a lot of people who are shopping for dolls with Christmas money and tax return season is coming up so let’s talk about how you can be safe from accidentally purchasing a recast.
The example above is an Iplehouse Tatiana.
As you can see, in the Ebay listing, she’s far below market price.  That’s usually your first sign.  She’s also not listed with her brand or any actual information about her.  Scrolling further down the listing, you can see she’s even listed as unbranded.  Anything that says unbranded or China Version is a bootleg.
Another great tool available to you is reverse image search.  Save the image from the suspect listing, put it into google img and then see if you can find the company’s original listing.  From there you can check the price and compare.
You should always do your research buying on-line when you’re buying into products that have bootlegs.
If you have any questions about this you can feel free to talk to me about it by shooting me an ask.  You can send me anon asks and if you don’t want your question published, please tell me.
