Answer: Yes! We have earmarked $100 per workshop.

Question: Do I have to be exhibiting in order to host a workshop?

Answer: No! You do not have to be exhibiting. (And as of today, exhibitors haven’t been finalized yet.)

Question: What kind of workshops are you looking for?

Answer: We are looking for hands-on workshops for all ages. Assume your participants are willing to write and draw. Can you get people fired up (or maybe confident and calm) about making their own comic or zine? About collaborating with others? About sharing their work? Please bring your methods to Genghis Con!

Last day to back Time Tails and bring accessible, inclusive coding education to schools!

It’s the LAST DAY of the Time Tails Kickstarter and we still have a lot of ground to cover. Please, please, please go take a look. We really want this project to get funded, and to get it into classrooms.

Time Tails is a series of puzzle adventure games that teach players coding and how to use professional game design software. Follow 80’s kids Ari and Zoe as they travel through time to fix “glitches” in history by changing the game’s programming!

LGBTQ+ Representation

Did I mention that Ari, one of our 2 main cats is the first non-binary character in an education game? One of my goals is to create a diverse cast of characters that represent EVERYONE. 

As an enby myself, I am really proud to be working with a majority LGBTQ+ team for real representation and change in the way LGBTQ+ kids see themselves represented in media.

When I was in school, history was just a bunch of stuffy old white dudes, and it was BORING. While Time Tails is supposed to teach players how to code in Unity, it also gives them a closer look at historical figures that textbooks have forgotten. Sure, there’s the Treaty of Paris, but what about Sybil Ludington? I never learned about her in school, and I wish I did. She was a BADASS. 

Also all of the characters are cats. Look at Sybil! She’s pretty awesome and adorable as a cat imho.

Yes. We did it. Back to back photos of dudes in front of cityscapes! This one in front of Cleveland! Scott Kraynak! @kraynakscott . I am a professional artist (and Park Ranger) who has exhibited all over the country and world, and has works in many permanent collections, both public and private. I work in mostly colored pencil, but I have also published two photography books, and use paint and mixed media on antique photos to create very creepy and dark pieces that have been widely acclaimed and sought after. I was a contributing artist in the Harvey award nominated graphic novel, 27. I have illustrated numerous books including Animal Crackers and Truck Farm, based on the documentary by Ian Cheney. I very much enjoy music, and have created t-shirts, posters, and album covers for bands such as Murder By Death and Flogging Molly. My latest project was The heART of Cleveland, a book featuring Cleveland artists from all fields, styles and mediums and their work of some aspect of my beloved hometown. The Plain Dealer hailed it as "the coolest book they ever read." Ladies, gentlemen and others! Please put your hands together for an Ohio Comics Pillar and one of the most prolific creators publishing in the game today: MAX! INK! @maximilianink! . Max Ink has been writing and drawing his own style of comic books for nearly four decades. He’s created comics in a variety of genres– fantasy, science fiction, magical realism and even a series featuring anthropomorphic super heroes. These days, Max’s style of choice is a down-to-earth comic series called BLINK, which is set in his adopted hometown of Columbus, Ohio. The series features a mix of 20-something friends who live, work and basically just hang out and talk, living their lives to the best of their ability and enjoying themselves. BLINK has been described as “real life on the printed page,” as well as “philosophical,” “wildly entertaining” and “a wonderful slice-of-what-I-wish-my-life-was-like” kind of comic. In 2011, Max published his first BLINK graphic novel, “Blink: So Far,” which was a finalist for the SPACE Prize (twice) and is in the process of writing and drawing the follow-up, “Blink: So It Goes.” He also took some time off in 2014-15 to play around with a meta-fiction-auto-bio web comic, “Thinklings.” In 2016, he began collaborating with his (then girlfriend/now) wife, Flor de Canela, who’s a gifted artist and writer. Flor’s created her own humor webcomic series, “Stuck-Up Unicorn,” and is developing a new surrealistic semi-autobio series, “The Umbrella Chronicles.” As of 2018, Flor has become his official tone artist on the BLINK series.
