Lake after finally getting her and Callie’s order from Tim’s heading back over to the apartments. Her car made it’s usual I want to die sound as she drove, she hoped that even though it was on it’s last legs that it would keep on trucking on for awhile. There was no way she could afford another any time soon. She arrived at the apartments and grabbing the drinks and the donuts headed up to the their floor. She banged her bum against the door considering her hands were full and waited for Callie to open. “I come with your request- I did not get from The Ugly Mug, I apologize- I just prefer French Vanillas from Tim’s,” she smiled.

Rolling his eyes good-naturedly at Lake, he quickly placed his order before answering her. “I wouldn’t know, I didn’t go last meeting. I’m still waiting to get the minutes in my email,” he deadpanned, shrugging his shoulders. “And don’t call me that.” Paying and thanking the person at the register, he stepped over to where Lake was waiting. “So what’s new in your world, River?”

Lake bit at her lip stifling off a smirk at his eye-roll, she knew he hated being called Danny which is probably why she continued to do it. She shoved her phone in her pocket giving Danny her full attention as she waited for her order. For a small town- Tim Hortons filled up pretty quick, she wondered how the Ugly Mug was coping. “I think I was in charge of getting that to you- short version, we agreed loner life just feels right,” she replied. Lake widened her eyes pretending to be shocked when he said don’t call him that, a hand placed on her heart. “Wait- do you not like being called boy?” Lake her mouth hung open for a second. “Ah- I returned a waller- you think mother nature would forgive me for vaping now? You adopt another dog to add on to your dog man representation? You guys get more love than cat ladies.”

Addison had to hand it to Lake. She was a smart woman and it showed. That’s what sucked about living on her own. Addison had to be an adult and a half - dealing with the things that her parents used to deal with - and that meant bugs. Thankfully she had a good enough relationship with her neighbour so that Lake could deal with all the creepy crawlies. “Mosquito.” Addison breathed, pointing to the flying daddy long leg looking motherfucker in the corner of the room. “I don’t want it dead, please just get it out. The bug cup is on the counter.” 

At the idea of rescuing the girl from a mosquito seemed kind of more annoying than a spider. At least a spider didn’t fly, still she was here and she had to help now. She had grown used to Addison’s pleas for help, the girl lived alone which Lake found personally stupid- that may be because she was used to being around so many people that the belief in safety in numbers was good. Plus when she was having a bad day- she knew Immy would at least make her eat, it helped to have someone to have your back- even if it kind of annoyed you. Maybe that’s why Lake- despite being annoyed with Addison more often than not- always showed up for her. “You want me to trap a mosquito in a cup instead of grabbing a rag to kill the damn thing? This is why bugs keep coming back- they know you won’t ever do anything about it.”

Lilith was in desperate need for some girl time and decided to go to Immy and Lake’s apartment. As soon as Lilith got to the apartment she sent a text to Immy that she was coming over and to hurry her ass up with whatever she was doing. For once instead of just letting herself in she decided to knock on the door and wait for Lake to open it for her.  “ I do, but just coming in saves everyone more time sometimes,”she said to Lake as she walked passed her and plopped herself onto the couch. “So we’re watching community tonight and eating popcorn? I’m down.”

Lake’s head shook a bit as Lily just walked past her like she lived here and hopped on her couch. Lake took a deep breath, although she hadn’t planned on human interaction today- she guess she was an entertainer until Immy came home. “I rue the day she gave you a key,” she continued shaking her head. Lake shut and locked the door behind her and made her way back over to the couch and sat down on her couch and crossed her legs. She grabbed the popcorn bowl and placed it into her lap making her claim that this bowl was all hers. “Yup, and I will not be taking requests for anything else,” Lake said hitting play on Community on the bottle episode. It was one of her faves.

Because there is no way in hell that that mask is the one that Tobey Maguire wore- and you were robbed otherwise,” Lake was leaned up on the couch watching Eli struggle to put on a spider-man mask. “Besides- I came to watch Spider-Man, not watch you try to be Spider-Man. And no- we will not be watching the ones with Andrew Garfield because I don’t acknowledge it and you can cry about it later.”

“The world being weirdly random can be comforting if you really think about it,” Johnnie mused to no one – he just loved hearing himself talk sometimes. “The world itself being not sentient? It can’t want to help you, nor can it want to hurt you. It just exists, you know?”

"You know when you sat down I was hoping you would be quiet and you were for a bit but now you’re existentialing all over my chill time and there are plenty of parks you can do that at, buddy,” Lake said placing the newspaper down. She tried to support the local paper because she knows how important it is to support the print or else it will eventually go away. Even if she thought Newspapers were a dying form- it was still pretty aesthetically pleasing to hold. “You know- throw birdseed around and talk to the world.” Lake took a sip of her mocha before shaking her head over at the gentleman.

Xander was startled by the voice. He hadn’t been expecting anyone to be in the area, but less out looking for him. He turned to find Lake looking through her purse. “Oh shit!” He’s been looking for his wallet nonstop and had even destroyed his house looking for it which was one of the reasons for his massive cleaning job this morning. His mother was not pleased with the mess that he made last night, and scolded him all night long until he promised her he would clean. “I’ve been looking everywhere. Where’d you find it?”

“When I was leaving work this morning I found it by the pump you were at,” Lake said walking closer to the man she handed it to him. Not really know what else to say- and feeling a bit awkward. She wasn’t particularly close with Xander- but she was familiar with him because it was a small town. It was hard not to know everyone- especially if they grew up here. “Uhm- so you have it back now, I’m gonna walk back now.”

Today was a turning into a long day at work for Daniel, not that he minded. His shift had almost been over when there’d been an emergency call for a Mama dog and her puppies running around by the docks. Naturally, he volunteered to go on the call with a coworker. There was a lot of scouring the area but thankfully once they’d located the little family huddled in a crawl space, it didn’t take too long before everyone was safely and soundly in their care. He brought mama and her pups to the vet to get checked out, and the team told him it’d probably be a couple hours so he figured he might as well grab a snack or something while he waited. Besides after all the running around, a frozen hot chocolate sounded real good right about now. Stepping into the cool air of Tim Horton’s, Dan’s eyes scanned the other occupants. His gaze landing on a familiar face, he nodded their way. “Well look who finally got out for some fresh air.”

Lake was in line picking up a couple of donuts and French Vanillas for her and Callie- she figured while she was feeling up to it that she might as well try to get out and be in the world a bit. She was waiting for her things when she heard a familiar voice. She lifted her head and focused on Daniel, she had grown fond of the boy and mostly irritating him. He should have never told her to never call him Danny, people often learn the hard way to not tell Lake to not do something. “Well what can I say Danny boy? I had to grace the town with my face- if only for a moment. Isn’t that what the lone wolf society told us to do this week?”

Honestly there were moments that Lake regretted not having a better job because than she could afford to live alone. It was like people thought friendly happy to help girls lived in this apartment because of Immy and how much Callie was here despite living right across the hall. Lake liked her space and to leave her customer service skills for when she had to walk around with a name tag, still when she heard the knock on the door and saw a freaked out Addy she dragged herself out the apartment and followed her neighbour over to her place. Once inside she looked around. “Wait- where’s the spider? I assumed you were freaking out over a spider?”

Considering Lake was coming off a night shift, you would think the girl would be curled up in ball under covers. The girl was never good at sleeping though and she opted for being on the couch rewatching Community while Immy was out doing something. She had finished popping her popcorn when she heard a knock on the door. “So she does know how to knock,” Lake remarked seeing Lily in doorway. “Immy’s not here, but you can come in I guess.”

Xander had taken the day off today to clean about the house, do his laundry, and relax a bit. The only problem that he faces was that his relaxing time also happened to include what he did for work, so he found himself packing up his fishing gear to head out to the cove for a bit of fishing. He had completed just about everything else on his to do list for that day so all he had left was his personal relaxation time. “Ma I’m heading out now, do you need anything?” He asked sticking his head into the house. “No? Ok stay beautiful.”Lyxander yelled out before turning back towards his truck. 

Lake wasn’t one to play the good samaritan card but she had put this on her errand list to drop off the wallet for a guy. With the RCMP presence she was trying not to drive her car too much considering her licence had been expired for forever and she didn’t need the headache of handcuffs. She was stepping closer to the house when she noticed the gentleman come out. She waved and pulled the man’s wallet out her purse. “I think you dropped this last night?”

Imogen had been riding through town on her motorcycle, just enjoying the last bit of warm air before autumn started to set in. She stopped in front of the town’s bakery, dying for something sweet like a chocolate cake. Upon stopping, someone walked by her. “You look like you need a cupcake.”

Lake wasn’t one to be out of her apartment a whole lot, if it wasn’t to go to work or check in with the moms- she was an indoor cat. Today however was different, she felt a bit of a perk in her step to get out of the house and run some errands. She had gotten dressed in her usual lazy wear before heading out to her car, she had driven to town and parked her car in front of the Ugly Mug figuring she would probably make it her last stop. She had barely made a dent in her list when she heard the familiar hum of motorbike. A soft smile on her face as she turned around seeing her blonde roommate. Lake tilted her head and raised her eyebrows slightly as she spoke. “You think if you offer me sugar that I will cave to me no dogs on the couch rule?” Lake teased. “It will take more than a cupcake- but I will let you buy me one.”
