DnD 5e is actually so good though you can change anything you want. My friends and I have a fun homebrew rule where we don't actually use maps or dice or minis or pen and paper at all, we go out on the sidewalk and use chalk to draw squares with numbers in them and we take turns hopping through them one foot at a time

the whole point of a zine is that it's cheap to produce, amateur and homemade. if you're being asked to apply to participate in a print project, it is not a zine. if the final product is being printed and bound professionally, it is not a zine. if you are being asked to enter into any kind of licensing agreement more complex than "my work can be reproduced as part of this publication" it is not a zine. nine times put of ten if the final product costs more than $5 you have left zine country. im so serious about this.

i just really find these two interesting especially with how both of them respond to other people, so i can imagine how they would interact with each other too >.<

edgar is not easily swayed by other people's opinions, whether it is positive or negative. in his eyes, people who think lowly of him just don't understand him or his art, and that also extends towards people who praises him, edgar thinking it is just empty flattery to placate/kiss up to him. hes very self assured and he only relies on himself and how he approaches his art.

meanwhile, violetta is very much the opposite... she is really dependent on other people giving her attention, no matter if it's positive or negative as well, as she's desperate to find more and more ways to stay relevant in people's eyes, which lead to her heavy body modifications.

which is why i think a lot about these two !! very conflicting attitudes yet they got drawn to each other despite it. its really funny. like creatively theyre compatible (as painter/observer and performer/observed) but when it comes to like learning how the other person, it is a little rough at first LOL

violetta has a habit of putting herself down to praise others, which is something Edgar absolutely hates! like oh that's quite arrogant of you if you're allowed to say such things to me while knowing your place. Would you still deem me as a great artist if you did not use yourself or others as comparison? Just say that I am!

^^^^ and he would not beat around the bush about it telling that to Violetta. he really would be snippy about the way Violetta puts herself down, especially like hey, you're my model! I chose you because you are worthy of my brush, are you going to tell me that I made a wrong judgement? stfu Edgar... gaifisjifJFJSJ

but the thing is Violetta would kind of... take that advice to heart and try to be less self deprecating?? Of course the reason is that she doesn't want to make Edgar upset and turn him away, but as she puts it to practice, she gains... some more confidence in herself...! Because the way you speak to yourself matters! And she feels more and more worthy as someone to be painted aaa...

and on the other hand... Edgar is a bit... surprised? To see that Violetta still stuck around despite his unpleasant personality. He probably finds it a little annoying that Violetta got a bit attached cause he didnt expect her to be so clingy and needy... but he found himself feeling some kind of way because people would have started to hate him and want less and less to do anything with him. Even if they did try to get on his good side for financial gain, Edgar would have saw through it.

but Violetta is so genuine... she is not the most intellectual artistic minded creative that matches up to Edgar's standards for a companion, but it's the closest thing to a real connection the both of them have. Edgar's portraits of Violetta make her saw herself in a way she would have never ever considered and uhhrthhhhhh kinda makes himfeel....?????? ?___?

i feel she would be very unused to having to sit still for someone, especially since she has had to constantly perform, to fight for her audience's attention. i'm sure she's got the urge to like, try and entertain edgar while he's painting her but he just gets snippy telling her to hold still hahahha

she knows that edgar has only come to the manor because he's been uninspired lately in his life, so much so that he's chased danger in order to reignite his passion for art again. so knowing that - plus her deepseated fear of being abandoned - causes her a lot of heartache that this relationship they have as artist and model will one day pass. nonetheless, she always treasure the moments that she gets to be edgar's model.
