Large (Clark Art Museum)
Carron Iron Works, painted around 1800 and attributed to Joseph Mallord William Turner, certainly demonstrates all of his usual verve.
Fire and smoke pour upwards, while the reflection in the water below looks almost auroral.
Yet what it depicts is fairly pedestrian—an iron works, the name of which still decorates the bottom of many a British post box.

bayan warther'ın ölümü beni derinden etkiledi. onun gibi sert ve güçlü mizaçlı birinin bile ölüm karşısında direnemediğini görmek gerçeklerle yüzleşmeme sebep oldu. ruhsal bir çöküşe uğradım âdeta. şimdi ise köşemde oturmuş, ölümün beni de diğerlerini aldığı gibi almasını bekliyorum.
