I’m so pressed about how evil this company is that I’m reposting Alex’s gofundme over here. They’re trying to bury Alex under so many legal fees that they have no choice but to give up their ip… and they’re only one of many many people (and pets!) that have been harmed by this company.

additional rambling under the cut
wow!!! it's been (checks archive) almost exactly a year since i originally conceptualized Link Rot, and since then it's grown into a beast of a story i cannot wait to tackle.
currently i'm aiming for updates once every month/month and a half (with occasional vacations to work on bite-sized projects). i'd like to do more, but i have a job and don't want to burn myself out. for now, i will take things slow B) maybe this will change in the future!
i hope you all enjoy reading my story as much as i enjoy creating it. there's a couple of hidden things on the website, so if you find anything fun let me know
Floralgraphic Memory is a tiny fantasy pastel drama kinetic visual novel that tells a story of a teenager named Rose who whisked himself away to another world after decided to skip school today.
the idea that any enjoyment of children's media as an adult is somehow inappropriate, pathetic, or self-infantalizing is something i hate more and more every time i see it.
really what this belief suggests to me is that there are tons of people who think children's media either can't or shouldn't have any genuine artistic merit. and it's rude and cruel to the people who dedicate their life to making things to kids to act like nothing they make can have any real value since it's just for children. and it's rude and cruel to children themselves to act like nothing that's made for them should have any real value as, if the creative works you're exposed to as a child are just placeholders.
i think art made for kids can be good! i think art for kids should be good! i think you need to take a very different approach when creating/engaging with art made for children, but i don't think this somehow prevents it from being meaningful or worthwhile! and if you do think that i genuinely am not sure how you can justify that belief without also believing kids are too stupid for real art or not deserving of it.
I want to preface this by saying that I love the game so damn much, I can't believe that something like it even exists, I'm glad that it does, and I'm extremely excited to see where the final installment is going to go.
However,
I am not a fan of the continued plot thread of "Sephiroth is the son of Jenova, and that means he was born irredeemably evil, even though he literally could not dictate the circumstances of his conception".
The whole, "they were born bad" trope always rubbed me the wrong way for multiple reasons, specifically on a personal level, it honestly feels a bit ableist. And Aerith not giving Sephiroth the same compassion as she does to others and insisting he cannot be reasoned with, despite the numerous parallels in their upbringings, is irksome. However, I also recognize that it's partially because she knows what he's planning and she may have been trying to reach him through Cloud during her speech after the trials, and it didn't work.
It just frustrates me to see a game about the numerous possibilities and choices available to us, and always have the same singular character, who has suffered from abuses and could not alter his fate, always be irredeemably evil. It's just boring.
And then you add in the factor of the Cetra most likely being xenophobic to everything they consider to be outsiders, to the point that they were unwelcoming to Aerith in the Temple of the Ancients because she's only half-Cetra, and it adds another layer of implications that I feel very uncomfortable with.
This in no way justifies what Sephiroth has done, and is still planning to do, in any sense, I'm just very tired and frustrated with a specific story trope.

A humble P100 elastomeric respirator from your local Home Depot or similar store! Magnitudes cheaper than the Flo mask (both the respirator itself and the filters)--however, I can't offer estimates for how often filters should be replaced. May not look pretty, but the most economical option for the highest degree of filtration if you aren't self-conscious.
General advice:
N95 or higher are the most reliable. They normally come with head straps, which offer better protection by making a tighter seal around your face.
But fit and comfort are the most important! Find a mask that fits your face and leaves the least amount of gap possible. KN95s are often more comfortable and breathable--find what's right for you.
You can wear different masks for different situations depending on risk level!
If you're hesitant to buy online, here's advice on how to tell if your respirator is legitimate.
A SIP drinking valve can be installed on any disposable mask to allow you to drink in public with less risk.
If anyone has other recommendations, please feel free to add!
So I don't like having to do this, but my partner has missed a lot of work recently and we're going to be at best completely broke after rent this month until we both get paid on the 9th.
I don't have a hard number at the moment but any bit you can spare helps.
