Incredible! Francois “mmu_man” Revol managed to run Haiku on very old super low-end hardware with 180 MHz Cyrix MediaGX CPU (ancestor of Geode) and only 128 MB of RAM.
Just made another wallpaper for Haiku. Graffiti style, raster technique one this time. I was messing with Wonderbrush. Awesome vector tool. Like it more then Inkscape :)
Well, it seams that there’s a support for VST plug-ins at OS level in Haiku. So that VST effects (Haiku/BeOS compiled binary) can be used as a media add-ons. Media add-ons can be routed with Cortex application. Basically, you can add media add-ons after any app with audio output. VST-s can be found at Haikuware’s site. Sadly, audio routing isn’t working smoothly for now but hopefully it will be all fixed in final release.
I’ve found two apps that works great with Sequitur(midi sequencer). SqueekySynth, which is a sampler/sound-font player and Sync Modular. SM is kinda like older version of Reaktor. It’s easy on memory/cpu and it sounds great! SM is now freeware and serial can be found at KVR forum.
