okay update to this, i did some digging on the carrd and could only find 2 of the profiles on it. unfortunately. maybe one day i'll be able to find the rest but i doubt it

dw i wasnt asking out of ill will either! im also autistic abt wtcd :) ive been trying to archive as much info abt it as possible just for personal purposes. because the internet is just so fleeting even with a dedicated fanbase. months or even years worth of memories deleted or lost out of shame or negligence. so i try to save what i can, no matter how small.

totally fair anon! i regret not being so diligent with the deleted content. i do believe i have a copy of the murin bathing suit picture (which may even be archived on this blog) and i do know of some old art thats available still on soda's blog. regretfully i did not / only partially archived the carrd before it went down though :[

hey anon! at this moment i dont (sadly i didnt get around to archiving all of the spotify playlists before they were taken down) but i do remember some info. the main character (i dont remember his name) was a lesbian that used he/him and cat/catself i believe ... and kitsune's ex was going to be an antagonist? the one who took advantage of them prior to wtcd i believe. there was a genderfae character and a hijabi who needed hearing aids/was deaf i believe. also i think ntombi's sibling wouldve been in it. i do believe ... actually. hang on. we do have a cast list and at one point we HAD icons ..... ahhhhgh. okay i'm gonna draft this for now and come back after i do some digging..

hello! i know this blog isn't really active, but i agree with a lot of these points. rereading wtcd lately has made me realize how it's not very good? all of the characters who come close to well written are simply brushed off as not interesting (purely because they have subtleties in their character.) and soda's treatment of haiyu, as this blog has made me realize, was really strange. he's the only character that (aside from shoddy writing) felt really.. human? or possible to exist lol? but their active, Active hatred of him when They Created Him felt like they were projecting some kind of real person/situation onto him or the like. it very much felt like the kind of story i'd make when i was 13, just learning what LGBTQIA was, but my god. they were what, 17? 18? with the messages they were trying to send, you'd think they'd know a little better than to make a black character "succumb to their addiction", another black character quite literally be the ultimate thief, another black character have their only personality trait to be protesting... etc etc. but anyways. brb this is now my personal diary for all of my wtcd thoughts reflecting on it

restating for this anon, but im not mod haiyu. im keykite, better known as celest or everett. a lot of the points made on the account were not made by me, but another separate user. i dont 100% agree with all of their points myself, and i encourage you to read through wtcd and form your own opinions, and not just base your thoughts on this account.

wtcd was a poorly written fangan through and through. it ham fisted representation that was very underreseached and poorly handled (ex: the neurodivergent characters. the transfems. the black characters. etc). i dont believe it is a fangan that should be referenced in further fangan creations or put up on a pedestal. but at its core, wtcd was a passion project. it wasnt SUPPOSED to get big. you can tell by the shoddier early writing and the last minute changes nearer to the end of the fangan to try to appease the new fanbase. this doesnt excuse the shitty writing, nor does it make it any less fun to pick apart and analyze, but it does mean theres a certain point where you gotta let stuff die. wtcd isnt a homestuck. its not a harry potter. soda's not profiting off of it or anything like that. its quite literally their shittily written ocs that they made in response to the second installation of danganronpa (sdr2) for fun.

youre entirely free to share your findings with this account, but please remember wtcd is a learning experience, not an ongoing debate.

also, as a quick correction, soda was 16 at the time of wtcd's start. they were 17-18 when it ended to my knowledge.

what do you think of the wtcd retrospective posted by mod soda?

if nothing else im mildly sad that wtcd2 got cancelled since i was looking forward to it. but other than that the drama and fandoms been 2 years dead atp so i dont rlly have an opinion on it. like for me personally wtcd was fun to pick apart and analyze and use my critical thinking skills to consume? but its been a longass time since those days (tm) and im not really keen on digging up old graves. plus the csa ask you sent to soda wasnt rly funny + im a totally different guy than the old mod (overthrew them. threw em to the dogs) so try not to lump me in with em.
