Trying to get out from behind that glass, spinning in circles, not being able to touch his partner, his partner falling off altogether, the quick embraces that are too fleeting, reaching out, feeling desperate, having to dance all on his own.

this song also cuts so deep because i feel it really gives life to the concept of how nostalgia, although sometimes joyous, can also occasionally be quite painful. not wanting to think about certain ways your life has changed because you know you will never be able to get back to that point of the past. or re-live who you were in the past. there’s some things you just can’t get back and you have to move forward with that knowledge

“gravity’s holding me back
i want you to hold out the palm of your hand,
why don’t we leave it at that?
nothing to say
when everything gets in the way
seems you cannot be replaced
and i’m the one who will stay”
it’s giving “i don’t want to talk about the bad stuff, i just want to be with you. there’s so many obstacles in our way but there’s no one i want but you, so i’m always going to stay”
