May Writing Challenge

This May I want to get back into writing. I’m not at all consistent. I’m at a point where I don’t feel like I can work on bigger things, because I can’t guarantee myself to keep working on it in a week from now. So I will take this month as a training month to get back into the habit of writing. I will do this by writing (or trying to write) 200 words every day. Topic is irrelevant. How great my writing is that day is irrelevant. Just 200 words written down. A habit taking 21 days to form was debunked, it does take a lot longer, but 31 days are a start I would say. These are already 140 words, so 200 words every day are hopefully manageable. You're more than welcome to join me if you like 😊

Even as found family and bonds of friendship and choice are on the rise, "in the blood" with regard to powers and capabilities is still way too prominent.

I hope over time more and more things go with the Green Lantern (or Spaceballs...) approach:

The item/power itself is sentient to a degree and wants a particular vibe that it seeks out when abandoned/lost/orphaned of its host.

Or the last wielder can choose the new, even in death: "I was Antonio's Big Brother for years, and he's got such potential for good. This is gonna give him a shitton of complications and a full-on rogue's gallery--but also such opportunities. I wish I could be around to see it."

Theft by the fae, but they're basically a weather condition with attractive side effects and they're not trying to pull anybody in--it's as intentional as snow causing snowblindness.

Not sure where changelings fit in "pied piper but it's a snowstorm." Maybe it's the same person but they came back wrong? Maybe, sometimes, a snowflake gets waylaid and takes a while to melt.

At the gate for my flight home from visiting friends and there's a woman here with a service Shiba Inu. No pics because he has a Do Not Disturb vest and taking pics of strangers is illegal but I need to stress how ON DUTY this animal is. Ears up. Eyes doing Lazer scans of everything. Examining everyone who passes within 10ft like a security guard. Ass planted on her feet. I have never seen a dog with such intense chivalric guardian energy before. He has tiny eyebrows and they are FURROWED with concentration.

Someone cursed by a fae or faerie godmother who totally earned the punishment/lesson. Not sure whether they acclimated and enjoyed the situation so turning back to human was the renewal of the punishment, or they learned what needed to be learned so they were changed back and keep some traits--or the ability to turn back at will.

Alternatively, THEY were totally fine and not an asshole but their nation was threatening war so removing the heir was blackmail to behave better. Turning them back is part of the treaty, but keeping the traits/form is a gift to them.

Is this just leading up to a "Titled" Goose Game reference? Unclear.
