Instead he stuffed his hands into pockets and continued to walk, long legs lengthening his strides in lieu of his wings (currently on cooldown until next use).

At last though, he had to reply.

"I thought you had enough of my company since the last two times?"

But when it came to the cups that housed them, he'd hardly paid attention to their stock. Nothing here could compare to Heaven and besides—his partner already had glasses of his own.

"I don't trouble myself with specifics," he muses. "but I've heard Klaus mention things here and there." There was no explanation of who Klaus was—in Aurelius' mind, he was perfect enough to be omniscent.

"He's mentioned shopping for such tableware in Whale-Mart before. Have you tried looking there?"

"Well, I certainly didn't think you would be selling it," You clarify, righting your and setting down on the ground lightly. Though you are smiling, you are also watching, and the sudden mental bluescreen does not escape your notice. If Dave were here, you are certain he would have made note of it. You do not do so aloud, but you do wonder.

A llowing him a few more milliseconds to gather his decorum than you might have otherwise, you tilt your head, humming.

The way Klaus looks after him gives Aurelius an expression akin to a smug cat, though he hardly realizes it himself. He's still cupping his recovering cheek (bruises don't last long but it's nice to keep these as a record) when the seraph collects Eiden's king (who knows where his own piece has rolled off to by now after escaping the human's clutches).

"I don't know if I enjoy chess," Aurelius sighs.

"There's something remarkably petty in its design. But if you'd like to play against him, Klaus, I'll watch from the sidelines."

Absently, he raises the hand that had touched Eiden's chest and tries to wipe its palm against the human's jacket.

Eiden can't help but to be a little stunned by the sheer lack of remorse that Aurelius displays for as soon as Eiden meets Klaus eyes he mentally shrinks.

He doubts he's ticklish at all, though. Touch is foreign enough that his body processes most of it as a threat. Granted, Klaus was forever the exception...

Moving on, he tugs at the seraph's arm and gestures with his chin at a table in particular. "How about that one...? They seem to be making flower crowns."

Not necessarily with real flowers, but they were still pretty.

"Hmm," klaus hums in thought, "we will have to test that out when we get back home." His own eyes rises just a tad bit to look at Aurelius.

He's thinking about it. REALLY thinking about it, but eventually chooses against it. For now. "You wouldn't let a weakness like tickling take you down, mm?" Klaus's eyes then wanders to the craft table. "Yes. I think it'd be fun to make something with you." Maybe it'll be a new experience for him.

"Let's do it."

「✧」 Somehow the creature's done something to look less spiky than before—or maybe the mood's just mellowed, because they're actually holding a decent conversation right now. Aurelius won't forget his poor wardrobe destruction despite that, however.

"I don't know whether you resemble a robot or not because I've never met another being quite like you," he clarifies first, "but I've seen enough strange souls in this island to conclude that anything is possible."

"Unless I've forgotten someone, you're the first animal I've spoken to with reasonable intelligence on this island."

Though Dar had cat ears and a tail, he doesn't technically count.

"As long as you're 'alive' enough to hurt, I am capable of healing your wounds as an angel."

"Well..."

Demon? Okay, this is getting weird... Despite not being sure what he means, Sonic decides to let the comment go—for now. Taking a deep breath, he stands up straight and relaxes his muscles... to an extent. If it comes to it, he'll put the defense back on. But it seems like the situation has changed; namely, that Aurelius has stopped his efforts in "helping" him.

"O-Of course not! Do I look like a robot to you?" It's insulting. Of course, Sonic's met good robots, but there's always the association with Eggman and his badniks. Calm down, Sonic. He decides to redirect the conversation to something interesting that Aurelius said—aside from the whole demon comment, of course.

"...You said you have powers? Is that how you were gonna 'heal' me?"

"I see, allow me to offer my congratulations."

"Marriage is a happy union, so naturally the more blessings the better. Perhaps your unintended deliveryman was trying to augment your good fortunes. That being said—"

He casts a sorry look at the crumpled remains of the invitation in the trash. "It seems their sincerity failed to touch your heart."

Oh well, he didn't need it back since the details were easy to memorize.

"I've met two of them," Aurelius goes on, now more curious than ever to see how this match came about. "They're both extremely talkative creatures. I do hope you're only marrying one, or one at a time, because I can't fathom how your eardrums would survive otherwise."

The little doodles of their likenesses that Vash put on the invitation don't really do much to portray Wolfwood in all his... very big, imposing dark-figured "glory". He's not that cute.

"It wasn't supposed to be public," he says. "Don't know how these ended up all over the city, but."

Wolfwood reaches over and snatches the paper out of the guy's hands. He looks at it, squinting behind his sunglasses, clicks his tongue, then balls it up and tosses it into a nearby trash bin. "Guess we're gonna have to prepare for more folks than we expected."

"Though it's more accurate to say I listen to the latter. But there's so many of them that it feels no different than thumbing through a book." Albeit a slightly repetitive one.

He looks around them next, taking in the aisles, books, and customers browsing the shelves.

"Although it's entertaining...I don't believe it can compare to the real thing. Have you not thought of living your novel life in reality, then?"
