Osteospermums (also known as African Daisies) are one of my favorite flowers. They're not too ornate, like Dahlias or Fuchsias, but they're not overly simple, like Bacopas or Lobelias, either.

The flowers are full of petals, which gives it a lively look. They're the perfect size, too- about the same diameter as a baseball. The colors they come in are lovely. Vintage Pink is my favorite:

In terms of what it's like to grow them, they're not needy! Since they originate from dry climates, they can survive a decent while without being watered (don't keep the flowers unwatered for too long, though, or else they'll close up). Many varieties of Osteospermum are annuals, but there exists hardier perennial varieties. All in all, it's a great flower.
