Greetings! Dave here. Not a kinnie or a fictive though, just named myself after Dave Strider.

One of the things I found myself struggling in terms of me handling my own fansession—sans its huge quantity and its entire plot—is with denizens. I've been using some resources (as in a Google Drive archive of various Tumblr Classpecting/SBURB stuff) and research regarding denizens, but I couldn't seem to either make them fit into my lands or find a compatible one at all!

So may I ask how did you decided on the denizens the Transfusion/Fosterquest players get and how they'll fit? The canon denizens do have some connections with each other in terms of the mythos they're inspired from.

To be honest, there isn't much in the way of deep introspective analysis on this one. I looked at this post for ideas, picked out one I thought didn't sound stupid, and ran with it. It is wholly and 100% through the Vibe Check alone.

On top of swapping the kids' hair colours (to make them more closely resemble their guardians), each of their haircuts is slightly different from their canon designs to add a bit of flavour from their new families!

Rose's hair is a little bit longer to represent John's shaggier 'do.

John's hair is a little bit curlier, ala Roxy's.

Jade's hair resembles a bird now.

Dave's hair no longer resembles a bird (as much).

Keen-eyed observers may also notice that there's no Time/Space player in this crew. Don't worry, I didn't forget. Let's just say this is something the alpha kids will have to pick up the slack for.

Wouldn't that require one of the human kids to own a Whole Ass Dragon though

Though he may seem like a LOVEABLE GOOFBALL on the surface, John's MORAL COMPASS may not always point on the STRAIGHT AND NARROW. He can easily be swayed to act out if it would appeal to his SLIGHTLY DARK SENSE OF HUMOUR, which on a non-zero number of occasions has resulted in him FAKING HIS DEATH with PRACTICAL EFFECTS and all.

John has a potent fascination with all things HORROR, with a particular fondness for FILMS of the genre, no matter their quality or popularity. He is also an avid AMATEUR MAGICIAN, practicing with his magic kits whenever he has the chance. When nobody else is watching, he also has an interest in BLACK MAGIC RITUALS he finds online. Though none of them have borne fruit yet, he's banking on one of these being THE REAL DEAL.

John's SHUFFLE Fetch Modus randomises his sylladex every time a new item is captchalogued, with all cards ALWAYS FACE DOWN and only the topmost card being able to be retrieved. With his practice in SLEIGHT OF HAND, John has developed a knack for CHEATING THE DECK IN HIS FAVOUR somewhat.

John's relationship with his MOM is somewhat tenuous. He's fond of her, but despises his INABILITY TO SHOCK HER with his antics on the rare occasion she's even present to do so. Whether it's her CONSTANT INEBRIATION clouding her judgement or the fact that she's RAISED HIM ALL THESE YEARS, he can never seem to elicit the reaction he desires out of her.

The Land of SHRIEKS AND SHADOWS is a land stuck in a PERPETUAL MIDNIGHT, with sprawling cityscapes ILLUMINATED SOLELY BY WATCHTOWERS sprinkled throughout the CAVERNOUS ALLEYWAYS. The darkest paths are where the AMBIENT SCREAMS OF THE DAMNED echo the loudest, but they hide the true path to meet the denizen MENOETIUS. As the saying goes, THE DARKER IT GETS, THE MORE ONE SEES.

Dave is, to put it simply, SOMETHING OF A HIPSTER. Though he has access to LARGE SWATHS OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY, he opts to use as little of it as he can get away with, preferring more ANTIQUATED EQUIPMENT. He often records DOCUMENTARIES of the island he lives on, both to HEAR HIMSELF TALK and to KEEP HIMSELF COMPANY. He tends to TALK TO HIMSELF an awful lot, actually.

Dave's love for the RETRO AND VINTAGE runs deep. He has a fondness for VHS TAPES in particular, having TINKERED with enough VCRs to practically be able to BUILD HIS OWN FROM SCRATCH. Every so often he fools around with his KEYTAR, though he's not very good at it. Dave has also been getting into VAPORWAVE as of late.

Dave's MAGTAPE Fetch Modus is a somewhat outdated one. Items can be freely stored on any card in the deck, but doing so SLIGHTLY DETERIORATES THE CARD'S QUALITY. Should the card suffer too much damage, the item will either be DESTROYED or DISTORTED BEYOND RECOGNITION with severe VISUAL ARTEFACTS.

Dave's relationship with his dog BEC is a close one. He's essentially his ONLY REAL COMPANION, resulting in the two of them spending a lot of time playing together. Dave is JUST AS LOYAL to Bec as Bec is to him. His relationship with his GRANDPA, on the other hand, is much less close, seeing as how he's DEAD. He never learned how to stuff a corpse (just THINKING ABOUT IT gives him the willies) so his body rests peacefully IN THE FREEZER.

The Land of JUNK AND GHOSTS is a large SCRAPYARD teeming with GHOULISH GREEN SPIRITS. The clouds in the sky seem to dance in an ETERNAL VORTEX as the threat of a RAGING THUNDERSTORM looms everpresent. It's said that the key to the denizen THANATOS' lair is buried somewhere in one of the NUMEROUS JUNK PILES on the planet; a NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK as it were.

Jade is tough to read, wholly by design. Her IMPENETRABLE STOICISM and DRY WIT lend her an aloof air that convinces damn near everyone that she's HOT SHIT, which isn't an entirely untrue sentiment. There's nary an experience that can GROSS or WEIRD HER OUT. That's what happens when you've already SEEN IT ALL ONLINE, or so she claims.

Though she insists her love for FURRIES and STUFFED ANIMALS is entirely ironic, it couldn't be further from the truth. She LOVES those little guys, but under the Strider name is forced to CONSTANTLY BAG ON THEM. At least she can bond with the CROWS SHE TAXIDERMIES after they meet unfortunate demises in the neighbouring areas. She also has a passing interest in NUCLEAR SCIENCE, but it's, like, whatever.

Jade's PERIODIC TABLE Fetch Modus allows her to store an item only if its name or initials CORRESPONDS WITH AN OFFICIALLY CLASSIFIED ELEMENT. Peanut butter can be logged as Pb, or a Ca-n of Sprite can be logged as Ca.

Jade's relationship with her BRO is pretty complicated to say the least. He strives to HONE HER MARTIAL CRAFT through combat training, and though she puts her all into it, the constant PSYCHOLOGICAL MIND GAMES stresses her out beyond belief. The second any such thought comes up however, she's quick to SHUT IT OUT all together. He's just her BRO. Doesn't have to be more complicated than that. At least he has good taste in PUPPETS.

The Land of RHYTHM AND RIVERS is the WORLD'S LARGEST METRONOME, with a faint, pulsing sound echoing throughout the skies with PERFECT TIMING (most of the time). The rivers run red, though that's likely just because of the RED SKIES. Hopefully. Whenever the planet's heart seems to SKIP A BEAT, terrible calamities strike all across the land, something that the denizen HERA seems to wish fixed.

TT: As they say in my metaphorical neck of the woods: échec et mat.

Rose has perfected the art of being the PERFECT DAUGHTER, with SHARP WIT and almost AGGRESSIVE POLITENESS. She holds her STUDIES in high regard, even if her PERFECTIONISTIC STREAK threatens to burn her out. She has a reputation to uphold, after all. Her love of PUZZLES often has her challenging GAMZEE in duels of wits, though this rivalry is fairly ONE-SIDED.

As is befitting of an intellectual, Rose enjoys BOARD GAMES, holding a particular fondness for CHESS. She regularly takes PIANO LESSONS, striving to play as many songs above her technical level as possible. She primarily aspires to become a RENOWNED AUTHOR, though hesitates to show her work to any of her friends for fear of ANY KIND OF CRITICISM.

Rose's STACK Fetch Modus works exactly as it does in Homestuck proper. She doesn't wish to hassle her dad about buying her a new one, as clunky as her current Modus can be.

Rose's relationship with her DAD seems pleasant on the surface -- she speaks highly of her father figure, and he speaks highly of her. But there does seem to be a BLURRED LINE between how Rose believes she should behave around him, and how she truly feels about his sometimes OVERBEARING PATERNAL LOVE. There is still GENUINE CARE for him in Rose's heart, don't get it twisted, but it can get tiring OVERACHEIVING FOR HIS PRAISE as much as she does (not that she realises that she doesn't even need to).

The Land of WOODS AND INVENTION is a land covered in LUSH FOREST, which is conveniently an ample resource for the consorts of the planet to use for COUNTLESS INVENTIONS. In such a competitive market, it seems that this land's society cares more about UNIQUENESS than FUNCTION. All this TIMBER FELLING threatens to make the denizen EPIMETHEUS upset for some reason...
