Why are Americans so crazy about every single holiday? Right now I see so many videos of Americans and their christmas traditions.

First of all, why are you traumatizing your kids with an elf? Why do you start screaming if someone touches it??

Second of all, apparently its forbidden to mention that Santa isn't real. Saw a video where someone commented a very angry comment because "there are children on this app and you're ruining Santa!". There should be no children under 13 on tiktok and if your teenager still believes in Santa then boy you messed up as a parent.

Third and last thing, everything has to be perfect? The food has to be perfect, the tree has to be perfect, the presents have to be neatly wrapped and can also only be placed under the tree during the night so the children believe Santa left them??

This is how christmas went down for me as a Scandinavian:

Decorate the tree maybe a week before christmas eve. Presents are wrapped and placed under the tree a few days before. It has always been like that because Santa was just a fun thing we could pretend existed. I never believed in Santa and neither have my friends. If I got gifts from my relatives in Norway it said "from the pixie on (farm name)" even though I knew that none of these mythical beings existed. Also, because I made gifts for my parents it was obvious that Santa didn't exist because why would I make presents if Santa existed?

I just think Americans go very overboard with everything

I use it daily lmao. Mostly because my mom posts pictures on Facebook and I like to go through the 7 different groups im in that advertise jobs in my area

Do people on tumblr use facebook? Not talking about Instagram or WhatsApp or whatever else Meta might own but the actual facebook.com website or phone app?

Daily? Weekly? Monthly? Only when required for some workshop/event/thing that posts on Facebook?

I’m in that last category. I have two dead (empty shell) Facebook accounts that were created in the 00s and then all-but-deleted in the mid-2010s. But then I made a biz account that i occasional use when a workshop requires it, but that happens less as more ppl move to setting up a discord or another platform for workshop communities. I haven’t logged into facebook since early June of 2022 (when in a week-long workshop that required facebook). My account follows NOBODY except the workshops that required it (4 in total since 2020) and the workshop leaders.

(That said, meta does still own me: I use Instagram regularly but not daily. WhatsApp is my primary way of staying in touch with family and one segment of close friends and also for video calls.)

Do you use Facebook.com/facebook app? How often? What for? When did you start your account?
