For 10 long years war has raged while the Galactic Committee held a tight leash on the humans; stating โ€œWe do things a certain wayโ€. Now, with the enemy closing in, the leash comes off.

And we think aliens are the ones obsessed with cows.
Tumblr media
I canโ€™t tell you how much I love this artwork from ancient Egypt (the Middle Kingdom). People have been raising cattle and practicing animal husbandry for so long, that there is something almost inherently human about this scene.
Everyone in the field of veterinary medicine or agriculture knows the feeling of staying up late with a laboring animal trying to make sure both mom and baby are okay. Delivering a calf is often physically and emotionally exhausting work that takes enormous patience and learned skill. It requires a unique balance of physical strength and gentleness to do correctly. There is no feeling quite like getting that baby out and everyone is okay. Iโ€™m certain ancient people must have felt the same way, and I wonder if the artist knew this feeling firsthand. I wonder if those humans depicted were people the artist knew, if the cow and calf maybe were as well.

I love this because like 99% of this kind of paleoart is patriarchal Man the Hunter type fantasies but these guys are just like โ€œfuck it weโ€™re outta hereโ€

Adrenaline is an evolutionary trait specific to Earth. When alien species are tired they sleep and not even a threat to their life will wake them. Which is why the pirates that boarded your spaceship are shocked to find youโ€™ve not only jumped out of bed fully alert but are fighting back!

This, the whole debate, only humans would do this.
You'd be more surprised to see a rare mammal that lives almost exclusively on the bottom of the globe, than a creature that exists only in your own minds and imaginations?

Fairy vs Walrus, y'all're forgetting about Willamina, Fairy Queen. She works part time as the tooth fairy too.

Five seconds on unholy screeching. Okay. Okay. I can do this. Seven plus seven is fourteen so seen plus eight must be fifteen. Save the five, use the one to turn two into three. Now, it's three plus four. That's seven. But wait, what was the other number???!!! Five! The answer is five!! Wait...

What if we're one of the only few species that can endure pain? That can survive cuts and bones breaking through the skin? What if as soon as their blood flows out of their bodies aliens die?
Humans are deathworlders, and as deathwolders we can survive injuries that expose our insides. We pierce our ears and noses and bellybuttons. We jab ourselves with ink filled needles. We cut ourselves and smear dirt in it to make tiny raised bumps. We do all those things and sometimes it is part of culture, sometimes it is part of our religion, sometimes it is to honour a loved one. And sometimes, it is just for fun. We see and do those things and think they're normal.
But what if we go out to space and meet aliens for the first time and they are horrified? They look at our pierced ears and inked arms and think 'they reek of death'.
What if on this one planet, 387 million lightyears away they see us and think 'Our justice is not their justice' for on their planet, these are their death penalty.
We look at tattoos and piercings and raised scars and holes in our lip or ear and ask if they have significance. We look at our pain and think 'It is worth it, because this is me, I survived'.

What if aliens didn't know what skipping was, like the physical action of skipping instead of running? Just imagine how terrifying that could be, some dude quickly gaining on you while SKIPPING??? Plus it would be pretty amusing to see the confusion on the aliens faces
