if u never watched cafta then u literally don’t know who mcu steve rogers is. that is the most authentically steve rogers he could be — before the trauma and before losing bucky and before being told he’s a legend and history rewrote his story. he was a little shit who got in back alley fights and thought fondue was a euphemism for sex and loved his best friend so much it hurt and drew himself as a performing monkey. who was quick to smile and quick to throw a punch. who cried in a bombed out bar over a glass of liquor that wouldn’t effect him. disobeys direct orders, and goes on a one man mission to save his friend and illegally tries to enlist under six different fake names despite having chronic illness. jumps on grenades and goes to art school. who was vindictive and a little mean but so so so caring and empathetic. who’s mother was his moral compass, even if she was never on screen. that was steve n if u can’t appreciate cafta than well that’s on u

"when will i ever know peace" as soon as you stop running an anti tony blog and saturating yourself with content that actively makes you unhappy, i promise you. it's 2022
That's where you're wrong, Anon. Complaining about Tony Stark does make me happy.

Do u watch She-Hulk? I heard there was a scene in it with Tony whining about Steve or something, but I haven’t seen it because I refuse to give Marvel money

The thing is that even the examples that people try to cite of the MCU being capable of artistic sophistication only reinforce the shortcomings of Disney's hegemony.
Like, yes; "Black Panther" was unironically a masterpiece; but it could only critique western colonialism and American race-relations by putting its most trenchant points in the mouth of a murderous psychopath; and, more to the point, the movie's synthesis and utopian vision are undermined almost immediately by Wakanda getting randomly destroyed in "Infinity War" to satisfy Disney's need for a climactic setpiece battle.
Likewise, "WandaVision" starts off as an exploration of grief through an amusingly (and sometimes terrifyingly) surreal pastiche of American sitcom tropes; but then, the whole thing gets caught up in the gravity of the MCU and subordinated to a mandatory CGI action climax.
In short, if these works are good, then they are good *in spite* of being part of the MCU; and they would be better if they were outside it.

steve rogers said “I can do this all day” bc as a 105 pound chronically ill man he would get into fights w men twice his size daily and get knocked down time after time after time. his whole mo was stand up for the little guy & for people who couldn’t stand up for themselves, despite the fact that he was the little guy. it is a phrase that was born in the back alleys of brooklyn, and belonged to a man that always stood up (as long as his body allowed him), and peggy carter should not have been given that line under and circumstance
