Walking the red carpet together, being attached at the hip constantly, the pictures Azzi chose to post of just the two of them, I'm like pretty hardcore convinced that was a soft launch at this point.

I always told people with them it's really you have to look at the entire picture because one off's give the bff vibes for sure. I saw a popular Pazzi TikTok on Twitter this week with a bunch of RTs so I had my reporting trigger finger at the ready if anyone was being nasty and it was a bunch of comments from dudes going oh wow damn it's actually so obvious in hindsight lmao.

Exactly! If you look at things in a vacuum, then it's pretty easy to see it as friendship but when you look at everything, it's hard to ignore a lot of things.

I've always had a feeling that they were together based on vibes, but just told people they were best friends to keep their relationship private. They were always visiting each other whenever they got a chance. Like, even if my best friend lived in a different state I would not be visiting them as much as paige and azzi visited each other. In majority of their interviews with slam or overtime, either one of them would make an appearance through FaceTime or in-person. They just give off vibes of long-distance relationship and when it came time to pick a school there was no chance they weren't picking the same school to play together and be together.

Honestly, I could see this too. There's always been something about that where everything separately is like hmm yeah besties but then you put everything together, and it's like yeah no that's not it. I think they've always kinda known they're a little bit inevitable and that's just always shown in how they behaved.

Agee with your anon's 2022 theory. I always thought it was somewhere in mid/late 2022 they got together for real. And it makes sense, in high school that's just way to complicated and long distance to do anything but just focus on the limited time you have together, and kinda ignore if there's anyone else when you're not together. Then in college basketball is the job so it's important to focus on that. I could see it being more fwb Az freshman year and then it was the post P's injury where it got serious for real and they've been together since. In 2021/early 2022 they really acted so kind of giddy, esp P, and by late 2023/2024 they give much more settled couple vibes (to me). I'm praying someday we get some ESPN feature on their story and the timeline is finally confirmed lol.

Love when y'all agree with my delulu, it makes me feel less insane. But yeah the St. John's interview is lowkey my roman empire because there's just something about it that's different from the preseason interviews or even the exhibition game interview like it just feels like something clicked, beyond just both of them being really happy that P was playing again.

I so agree with the they give settled vibes now (maybe that's just my shipper hat) which I think some people maybe misinterpret as disinterest sometimes because they're also very private. There's just this sense of calm in between them that I think is just very beautiful and you could really see it at the soft launch draft. But it's gone from i'm scared to look away because you're the best thing that's happened and what if you're gone to i know you're mine and i can take my eyes off you because i know you'll always be there. Does that make sense?

for the way timelines go i believe that they actually started like being more than friends when they met at usa. to me its obvious. i think they didn’t put a label on it bc they were young and prolly immature but once a came to uconn i think they like got a little more serious.

Honestly, I think it's quite mature of them to not have potentially jumped headfirst into trying to be in a serious relationship (or so I think because who actually knows). Long distance is hard enough when you're older, idk how you make it work in high school.

Yeah I still think they only officially started dating after P’s injury. I always thought they would have blurred some lines or messed around before college especially during that time they were living together during covid so am not too surprised that’s the case.

I’m curious though as to if either of them ever brought up actually being in a relationship prior to college or if there was always a mutual understanding that that was strictly just a summer thing or whatever.

In saying all that, given lines were already blurred before college, I’m a little surprised it took as long as P’s injury for them to be more serious (if that is indeed correct) like I woulda thought P would jump at the chance of finally being together for real once Az got there but well ik there’s been theories of why it prolly took as long as it did. I also wouldn’t be surprised tho if things started getting more serious already towards the end of Az’s freshman year so like early 2022.

You and I are on the same wavelength down to the part where I have an early 2022 theory because there's a couple games right before Paige comes back, where you can tell (or I'm reading too much into it) there's a little bit of tension and it feels a little more than just Coach P being Coach P when she's yelling at Azzi.

To your point about addressing it/it taking so long, is that these are dumbasses (lovingly) we're dealing with. It's very easy when you only see each other a couple of times to pretend that you're definitely not more than so I don't think they thought (stupidly) that they needed to talk about it. Once you start living together, it becomes hard to ignore but it can also be really hard to let yourself acknowledge especially when you're stubborn (P) or an overthinker (A) so honestly if it took a year, I would not be shocked.
