An absolutely CRITICAL part of mermaid social etiquette is to ALWAYS swim around head height with other mermaids. This prevents both mermaids from harming each other via their tails, fins, and other appendages.

This etiquette is also intended to symbolize equality – regardless of whether you’re a coastal mermaid, a small freshwater mermaid, or a 50ft tall deep sea mermaid, everybody is deserving of equal stature.

OK I don’t talk about my cartoon obsession too much here but I don’t think you understand how excited I am to see that Libby is canon Jewish in The Ghost and Molly McGee. It’s only a promo but it looks better than any Jewish rep I’ve seen on TV (and especially in youth media) in years! She actually becomes a Bat Mitzvah on-screen; she’s shown as partaking in cultural rites and not just being used as the butt of a joke! And in those screen shots they animated the tzitzit on her tallit and gave her a yad to read from the Torah! I’ve never seen this kind of detail (even if it is the most basic LOL).

And especially if Libby is a recurring character? You will not hear me shut up about her because I have never gotten Jewish rep like this.
