Past story - Chapter 1 (Cyrus)

— The brothers of bygone days—

Cyrus: …

In the empty room, the only sound echoing was that of me sharpening my sword.

Eventually, I sensed someone approaching and put down my whetstone.

Cyrus: —— thank you for your hard work, commander.

Alex: Oh, sorry for bothering you. Please continue what you were doing.

Cyrus: No, I was just about to finish.

Alex: As always, it remains a wonderful sword.

Alex: Even though you’ve been using it for so long, its fierce glow only grows stronger rather than fading away.

Cyrus: …yes. It’s a very dear sword I inherited from my father.

Cyrus: Since the last battle was intense, I’m taking care of it (TN: as in, performing the maintenance).

Thinking back to how badly everyone had woken up before coming to Len's room, a bitter smile broke out on my face.

However, a customer affiliated with Bloody Lady was scheduled to arrive in the morning, so they wouldn’t be allowed to oversleep.

Len’s room

Emma: Looks like you’re awake.

Len: …Yeah.

Len, who had apparently already woken up, sat up on his bed and stretched out.

I was so shocked that I could no longer hear the voices of my mother and the servants.

The pale yellow dish gently split in half when I sunk my fork into it.

I was so shocked that I forgot myself for a while.

That simple thought kept replaying in my mind over and over again.

When biting into it, the soft texture let out a rich and flavourful juice that spread throughout my mouth.

Before I knew it, I was absorbed in eating the plate in front of me.

I had forgotten he even existed, but at the sound of his joyful laughter, I looked up at him.

Introductions: I’m an explorer, Crow. My job is to find all kinds of interesting things around the world, it’s my purpose in life! What makes me happiest is when people get excited about the things I find. Also, I feel happy whenever I eat with everyone at home [TN: the guild home]!

He often tells me not to be reckless, but I think we get along well; even though we’re a little apart in age [TN: Crow is 22 and Lagoon is 36], we sometimes go on rides and eat together!

Introductions: I’m a moon reader, Itsuki. My job is to predict and research how the Moon Road, a road to other countries, will appear. Then uhh… what should I say… Hobbies? My hobby is cooking. Though… my friends say that my sense of taste is “out of this world”. Out of this world… huh… [TN: the verb used here can also mean “to lack common sense” lol]

MC first impression: The first time I saw her I was impressed. She’s so delicate that my impression of her was miles away from that of her father. Also, I thought her eyes were very beautiful. This has not changed even now. They’re pure and strong, and when I look at them, I sometimes feel drawn to them.

Navi first impression: Navi seems… busy. At first glance, he’s laughing, then angry then sad. Then, all of a sudden he starts playing tricks… his emotions change all the time. I was worried it might tire him out too much, but when I told him this he glared at me. I often make him angry like this, but it’d be nice if I could make him laugh, too.

Meister you’re close with: Since I’m not good at interacting with others, so I mostly only talk to the Tsukiwatari members… I guess the answer is Crow. When he fell on me from a Moon Road, I got scared to death. We’ve been together ever since. That encounter has changed everything for me… I don’t know what will come next.

Grandflair

Introductions: I’m the living paintings’ artist, Grandflair. I’m the leader of the World exploration Guild Tsukiwatari. If any of our guild members cause you any trouble, please contact me. Despite still being inexperienced, I’d like to make art that can make people smile. I look forward to working with you in the future.

MC first impression: Although Crow and Itsuki had already told me something… she was completely different from what I had imagined. I came to meet her thinking she was rough, bold and strong, but then I found out she is considerate, attentive and very capable… from the bottom of my heart, I’m grateful that she’s become our guildkeeper.

Himmel first impression: He used to be a bit of a pessimist, but I think he’s come to change a bit. [TN: not sure what the right translation is here for the next part…]. It’s a bit surprising how fast he switches from being awake to falling asleep (?) but… from now on, I’ll keep on telling him:”To fight back is not futile” [TN: technically, Himmel’s way of thinking is grounded on the fact that the future cannot be changes, so this ties back to that, although I truly don’t know why Grand is mentioning it here]

Meister you’re close with: …Do I really have to say his name? Rouge, from my same guild, though he’s more of a close friend [TN: the word used is 腐れ縁 which means undesirable but inseparable], rather than a good friend. I still can’t forgive him for calling me “Mom” [TN: because Grand is the “mom” of the guild]. If you loo at his character, he’s an awful person: bad with money, is a drunk hard, spends more time fooling around than actually working… although, there’s some good sides to him as well.

Rouge

Introductions: Yeees~ Tsukiwatari’s handsome poet, that’d be me, Rouge!~ Then, let’s toast to our introduction, shall we? Bahahah, don’t hold baaaackkk~ Oops sorry, looks like I have no money!

MC first impression: I was so surprised I thought to myself “Hey hey, what’s with this cute girl? Why is such a cute girl in my guild?!”. I thought she heard the rumours about me and came to check me out but… that wasn’t the case at all, ahah.

Shaymie first impression: Shaymie is so innocent and cute. I think that his whole being forgetful thing is also part of his personality. He always works hard and gives it his all but… I think he can take it more slowly and enjoy himself. Though, I think it’s about time he’d at least learn my name…

Meister you’re close with: Grand from my guild! “Lend me money~!” Is our greeting! …though when I say that, he always looks like he’s about to punch me again. Primus club’s Victor is my drinking buddy. He treats me whenever I lose at gambling. He’s so kind… eh? He’s charging me?

Noah

Introductions: Mythical beasts master, Noah… I belong to the World exploration guild, Tsukiwatari. My role is to protect the phantom beasts — and to do that, I need to become stronger than anyone else.

MC first impression: I knew she wasn’t a bad person because Corocle liked her. She takes care of me a lot, though I had some trouble adjusting at first… however, the food she makes is delicious, and I don’t think it’s bad.

Chitose first impression: Chitose is very knowledgeable and teaches me many things. Many of them, I don’t really care about, though they can be useful. It’s just… sometimes I’’m a bit surprised. He asked me why I was helping out a dying mythical beast, telling me it was going to die anyways. I didn’t really understand what he meant.

Meister you’re close with: There is no such thing. Mh? …Rouge? Don’t make me laugh. I despise that guy. I even keep my dirty clothes away from his. I don’t like breathing the same air as him, so why does he care about me…

Event Story - Chapter 11 (Grateful Days)

All the awards are given out, but Lannes’ voice rings out once more, announcing a “Special Award”. Originally, this ceremony was thought to celebrate the Meisters, but after many people made a request, the federation has decided to give out a special award to the one person most suitable for the Grateful festival. A newcomer who is in charge of many guilds and is extremely hard-working: Lannes’ eyes turn to Emma.

Adel: At first I thought you were just a mere rookie.

Kuchen: You’re a person with guts. You work too hard and worry too much.

Kai: Always running around for us. You seriously need a break.

Aoi: It seems as if you have it hard every day. Nevertheless, you always look straight ahead of you.

Lagoon: Even during this Grateful Festival, your voice could be heard here and there in all areas.

Victor: You had a wonderful time on your face the whole time, enough to make others smile too.

Crow: And that smile of yours, we love it!

Lannes: —Emma. This Special Award goes to you.

Emma doesn’t fully understand what’s going on, and Adel reminds her to stand straight; only then will her dress appear dignified and make her shine beautifully. Apparently, Adel was commissioned by the federation for this very moment, and he and Jin eagerly wanted to give something back to her for everything she’s done. Jin was the one in charge of procuring the jewellery and some of the embroidery, and he thanks Emma for always standing by his side despite him acting insufferable most of the times.

It’s Emma’s turn to give her speech, and after being cheered on by Victor and Velvet, she starts on by saying that despite being very surprised, she’s really happy.

Emma: Thank you for giving me such a wonderful gift. I am filled with gratitude. Oh, what should I say…

Lannes chimes in, proposing that she talks about her Grandmother. Emma continues, admitting that her dream is to become a guild keeper just like her Grandma. She looks around, heart beating and giddy with elation;

Emma: Through this whole Gratitude festival, I felt one desire. I love watching everyone chase their own dream, and I want to continue to support you so that these dreams become true. However, if I had to wish for one thing— I want to make those dreams even bigger. I wish to always stand next to the Meisters, shoulder to shoulder. My desire is to grow even more and create even bigger dreams with everyone!

Lannes chuckles, saying that the guilds she’s in charge of will need to put in more effort in the future. Crow and Kai happily accept the challenge, but Lagoon complains that this is turning into something troublesome. According to Oscar, if one is not greedy, walking the path of the Meister is impossible.

Victor complains about the plain name of the “Special Award”, and Lannes reveals that he had other names in mind such as Excellence award, Effort award, Newcomer award, Love Day award, Sparkle award, Cute award, My Proud Subordinate award— But anyhow, the one that fits Emma’s words the most is “Best Guild Keeper award” (Victor: Fufu, stupid boss). Emma ends her speech by thanking once more all the Meisters, the federation and all those who worked hard with her during the Grateful Festival.

When Lannes announces the Grateful Festival Special Area Award, everyone starts talking to each other. Lannes thanks all the meisters who made such an event possible, and adds that Velvet will be opening the park to everyone around the world. He thanks everyone for creating such a joyous event, and the crowd cheers.

Velvet: Of course, there will be times when everyone’s help will be needed in order to continue operating. In order to deliver to the world this dream created by everyone, let’s keep working together.

lannes also thanks the Chevalier knights for granting security to this place which is visited by many dignitaries.

Harriet: It is an honour for me to be able to protect a place full of wonderful love!

Alex: I vow to protect everyone’s smiles until the end. Please continue enjoying yourself peacefully without worries.

Then, the Special Area Award begins. Lannes would like to praise all guilds, but alas the world of craftsmen is based on friendly rivalry. The most popular area was the Gourmet area run by Gastronomy! Lannes invites a representative of the guild to leave a comment on the stage, and Oscar sends Kuchen over since he’s an ambassador, much to Kuchen’s dismay (Oscar is an ambassador too btw lol). Anyway, he heads to the stage with a slightly listless look after being encouraged by Emma.

Kuchen: I— No, everyone at Gastronomy is all about making the most delicious food, that’s all there is to it. However… I think that by getting involved with other people, our skills can be further refined. (YESSSS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!!!!) If those who gave us such an opportunity would want to eat our best food from now on— No, if they feel like they would want to make it together, then I’d be happy.

He meets Emma’s eyes and suddenly smiles admits the crowd’s roaring applause. She feels her heart warm at his words as a chocolatier and as a member of Gastronomy.

Next, the Alliance award goes to Tokohana, due to their role in preserving the traditional culture and their praising of peace through their work. Aoi steps on stage and admits that although he’s the ambassador, Asahi is the one who actually created Tokohana and continues to lead it. At first, he only thought of it as a fun occupation, and he probably does think that now, too; still, he now believed it is something very interesting too, and continuing to pursue being a meister at Tokohana will surely make him happy in the future. They will put to good use and continue cherishing their culture, their friends and the people who support them.

Velvet, as the landlord of this place, announces the Velvet award: the Water area, led by Jounetsu Taikai.

Searle: Aniki (= big bro)!! They called us!!!

Elma: Eh…? EHH…!? F-FOR REAL!?

According to Velvet, they were the ones who best embodied the concept of entertainment, and as an entertainer himself, he can’t help but respect that. He then invites Elma onto the stage.

Elma: EH, wait a min’! What am I even supposed to say at a time like this?! Hey, Shii-chan!?

Event Story - Chapter 9 (Grateful Days)

Time passes by quickly, and soon the day of the Midnight Festival arrives. Emma is summoned to the hotel a bit earlier.

Emma: Uhm, Adel-san. This dress is…?

Turns out that all those measurements he was taking were actually to prepare a dress for the Midnight Festival. He takes care of some final adjustments and then stops to admire how good it looks on Emma, stating that she’s beautiful. This sudden gifts fills her heart with joy, knowing how picky Adel can be when it comes to clients (going as far to even refuse royalty, at times). She asks why he designer the dress for her, and he brushes her off, saying that she’ll understand it later (also, he apparently hasn’t slept much to make the dress, as Emma deduces it from the dark circles under his eyes). Emma urges him to rest a bit, but he refuses, saying that his working style is nothing for her to worry about. She bites back saying that she actually worries about it every day, so he gets closer and grabs her chin.

Adel: What a big mouth you have on you. As expected of the talented guild keeper.

She apologises, saying she was impertinent, and he chuckles.

Finally, it is time for the already crowded Festival, and Adel escorts Emma there by holding her hand.

Emma: Wahh…!

Everyone (staff members, Rindou, Aoi, Caprice) compliment Emma, saying she’s absolutely stunning. Kuchen says he thought she was somewhere still working like a slave, and he’s happy to see her here. Jin approaches her, and when Emma asks him what he was doing in Adel’s office back then, Adel comes and cuts him off, changing topic by proposing a toast. They merrily toast to Emma!

She takes a look around the venue. Crow and Grandflair are thanking some staff members for taking care of the Guild; something similar is going on with Kai. Victor is approached by some staff members who believed everyone in his guild to be scary and unapproachable, but were proven otherwise upon meeting the former. The scene then shifts to Elma simply going WHEYYYY with some federation members (everyone is exchanging grateful words and positive feelings, then Elma is simply communicating through vibes lol he’s so cute).

Emma thinks back on Lannes’ words, and basks in the happy yet tranquil atmosphere. After some time, Lannes’ voice resounds throughout the venue through a microphone. He explains that the Midnight Festival is a time to give back to the Meisters all the love and appreciation they showed during Grateful Festival. He then moves on to introduce a program: the “Grateful Festival Special Area Award”!
