So I have a confession. I’m really self conscious about my appearance lately due to a tremendous amount of weight (for me) loss. I’m almost 6’4”, and 2 months ago I weighed 198.4lb. Last night I weighed myself and I just knew the scale was off, so I tested it with a weight in the gym. It was dead on accurate. The next photo will reveal the result. No, I’m not on drugs. I’m dealing with a new health issue plus depression and anxiety; all valid reasons for the rapid loss. I took this photo and had a sharp realization. This antique tripod I got from Letgo and I look almost identical. Skinny, wobbly because of bad joints that could use some repair, but a good head on our shoulders, plus we both hold the camera steady. Pray for us both. Backstory time. I struggled thinking of a name for this page and what I hope one day becomes a photography business or opportunity, and while I was lost in thought and flipping through some of my mom's Google photos, I came across pics of the tree that stands on our family's property on County Road 1 in Fairhope. Ever feel like a deceased love one has visited and nudged you? Well, my mom, Aunt Pat, Uncle George, Uncle Dink, Uncle Paul, Memother, and Grandaddy must have decided it was time to give me a nudge in the right direction. This old oak tree has seen hurricanes, sunrises and sunsets, weddings, retirements, funerals, and had more kids in its limbs than was probably safe. It was a beacon for our shrimp boats to home in on when coming home, and most importantly, our "Family Tree" or as the plaque attached to it read, "Thee Family Tree". Mom and everyone else, here's to your memory and life.
