Baseball is boring and i think i can fix it
Baseball has and will always be my favorite sport, call me an old soul but I don't care. Just something about it being played in the summer, such great memories as a child, or watching the Cardinals win all those world series. Ever since my step dad entered into my life and showed me how amazing going to the ballpark is and everything that comes with the game it’s been my favorite thing to watch and I could care less what team it is or what the score it is, I love a good baseball game. However, my opinion is not shared by the majority of viewers. Television viewership is down 12% in 2021 from 2019 and the average baseball fan is 57. For years networks have tried to appeal to a younger audience with corny shows like mlb central or Brian Kenny’s annual attempt to not be an absolute weirdo on television.
The only way to make baseball more interesting to watch is to have colorful announcers that have excitement for the game and not talk about what they did over the weekend during a broadcast. My plan, have 2 games a week (to start) broadcast on a national network like FOX TBS or ESPN and find the most entertaining announcers you can. Joe buck is only a good announcer when the crowd gets into it and he can feed off their energy. John Smoltz is not funny enough to be a bad broadcaster. When I say colorful and energetic I don’t meen corny. Good examples are Gus Johnson who calls football and basketball games or the Charlotte Hornets announcers that scream players names and go absolutely bananas for a mid season second quarter dunk. A home run is so cool to watch, a strikeout is so demoralizing to the batter but the announcers have zero and I mean no fun or excitement when it comes to these events. No need to change the game or give us more stats that we don't care about. The easiest way to make baseball more interesting to watch is to change the way it's broadcast and televised, not the game itself.
Furthermore, along with this broadcast you need a show similar to Inside the NBA or NHL on TNT but I have a wonderful idea that could change the way games are talked about. Let’s face it the majority of baseball players are put on this earth to hit a baseball 400ft into the bleachers not be colorful commentators. Sure there are some that have some wit and humor to them but to get people to watch and pay attention to baseball is to do something new and unique. My genius idea, hire non athletes and not journalists to talk about baseball and give their two cents once or twice a week on a talk show for these big games. It could be a rotating group of people every year or every week I don't care but just four people in a room bantering, being funny and talking about such an amazing sport. My perfect four; Lary David, Danny McBride, Bill Murray, and Tina fey.
In conclusion, baseball is so fun and so awesome but there is no need to change the game to get people to watch, just change the way people watch it.

Steph Curry is really good at basketball
With the NBA finals starting tonight, I don't think anybody really understands how good Steph Curry is at basketball. The stats are clear as day, 24.2 points per game and a career 42% from three. Let’s read that again 42% from 3, that’s actually insane. Nobody comes close to him with that statistic and some may say that's enough but not for me and I will explain why today.
Today on the awful show that is get up patrick beverly explained his preparation for playing Chris Paul and Steph Curry.
"Do guys in the NBA go to sleep early the night before playing the Phoenix Suns? Hell no. ... I'm going to Steak 44 ... have me a nice little wine ... Steph Curry? I'm going to bed at 8 o'clock. ... Mom, don't call me. My girl, don't call me."
While there may be a little bias because Patrick Beverly is one of if not my favorite players in the NBA with the way he plays the game and his antics that are only compared to Lance Stephenson, this direct quote explains how good Steph Curry is and how bad Chris paul actually is.
So the next time you’re out arguing how good Steph Curry is there is no need to pull up stats or argue his championships. Take it from an actual NBA player and how scared everyone is to play him and that is the only argument you will ever need for why Steph Curry is really good at basketball.

The stanley cup playoffs are the most exciting thing in sports right now
There are a multitude of sports on television right now; the baseball season is in full swing, Golf majors are on every other weekend, and  the NBA finals are about to start. Despite all this action on television everyone should be watching the stanley cup playoffs and I have two great reasons: Exciting long series and a hockey player that might go down when it's all said and done as the greatest hockey player of all time.
Let’s start with exciting series, the majority of these playoff series have gone to six or more games with both teams battling back and forth. Just when you think one team is going to walk away with the series the other team comes back ferociously and evens up the series and leaves analysts and fans stunned and excited for more. A lot of these basketball series being blowouts or the series ending 4-1 or 4-0 the hockey playoffs have been much more unpredictable and fun even for the casual hockey fan. Along with exciting series there is nothing like a playoff hockey goal. The anticipation and build up is something not seen in other sports and the playoffs add to the suspense and excitement.
The second and final reason is because of one man, Connor McDavid or as some call him McJesus. It doesn’t happen often in sports when you get to see one of the greatest players ever become even more of a star right in front of our eyes. Just think about when Lebron was in his first finals as a Cleveland Cavalier or Tom Brady in his first super bowl. The greatest determination of an all time player in their sport is their performance in the playoffs or how many championships they have. Connor McDavid has been regarded as the best hockey player in most die hard hockey fan eyes for a couple years now and he is only 25 years old. McDavid is playing out of his mind in the playoffs especially with an OT goal against the Flames to win the series. His performance in these playoffs will be talked about his entire career and this definitely will not be his last time showing up in his playoffs. However, the first time is always the most exciting and that is what we’re witnessing in these playoffs.
In conclusion, with most series going to six or more games filled with back and forth action and possibly one of the greatest hockey players ever building his legacy right in front of our eyes the stanley cup playoffs is the most exciting thing in sports right now and everyone should watch.
