she finds herself drawn to all kinds of high school glamour with absolute ease, like a moth to a flame, like a carnivore to its hunted meat. on the surface, it seems pathetically trivial compared to its successors beneath the pit of a bar pyre, and although melody lane did burn down three months ago, it seems nobody really wants to move on. NOBODY EXCEPT FOR JENNIFER. desperate to return to any tinge of normalcy in her life - as normal as she can return to with her new added body modifications: teeth as sharp as feline claws, slits the colour of green as opposed to her usual cyan sirens, and the excruciating hunger for men.

it helps to have a friend. someone to share the adrenaline it brings: what jennifer refers to as the "dusk mensies" being the yearning that begins once the sun starts to set & the night becomes a blanket. although it seems her hunger is growing and ginger's is only starting, she's like a child, happy with her work as long as there's no judgement from a familiar pair of eyes.

SHE'S HEARD ALL THE WHISPERS : the accusations of a girl turned lap - dog, obediently posted just one locker away, notably brought to heel. it doesn't bother her much, the kind of high school chatter that used to keep her up at night, it just rolls off like water. she only feels bad for them now, walking around with their heads down - oblivious to it all.

such easy prey, practically begging for it, aren't they? to be swallowed whole, worth nothing but the consumption provided. meals on legs, she hardly feels anything for them anymore with ( their tender flesh ) caught in her maw. nothing but satisfaction from the hunt, the kill.

still, she's never been much of an eater. that's all jen, with an appetite as big as her ego. they kind of make the perfect match - despite being all teeth & claws, jagged edges slotting into one another. ❝ but, ❞ yet she dutifully falls silent at the other's behest, held in place by the argument unfolding, & the fingers toying with her clothes.

❝ is this the part where you tell me or am i supposed to guess? ❞ it can't be that hard to figure out, whatever the methods it always ends with jennifer getting what she wants. how deep her cravings must be, to hunger the way she does. looking her over, there's a stab of envy — what she must house inside to require that level of feeding. all that power.
