Jessy Mendiola goes "more mature" in ISLA
Pagkatapos magbida sa seryeng Sabel at maging leading lady ni Gerald Anderson sa Budoy, mapapanood muli si Jessy Mendiola sa Precious Hearts Romances Presents Isla.
Makakapareha niya rito si Matteo Guidicelli.
Ayon sa young actress, kahit nagbida na siya sa ilang serye ng ABS-CBN ay hindi pa rin nawawala ang kaba at pressure sa kanya sa bagong proyektong ipinagkatiwala sa kanila ni Matteo.
“Palaging mayroon. Hindi yun nawawala.
"‘Pag nabibigyan ka ng isang project na alam mong ibinigay sa iyo nang buong tiwala, napaka-overwhelming 'tsaka nakakakaba [ng puso].
"At the same time kasi, hindi mo alam kung tatanggapin ng tao.
“Mamaya sabihin nila parang maling desisyon yung ginawa namin.
“The fact na ibinigay sa akin nang buong puso, nakaka-humbling lang. Ang saya lang na napu-push ako na galingan pa.
“Masaya kasi parang pinagkatiwalaan nila ako uli ng isang lead role, ‘tapos medyo matured pa yung tema.
“Kinakabahan din ako kasi sana matanggap nila yung kakaibang ako naman ngayon.
“Nagawa ko na yung Sabel before, pero ngayon mas matured talaga siya," pahayag niya sa PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
HER NEW CHARACTER. Sa Isla ay ginagampanan ni Jessy ang papel na Yanie.
“I play the role of Yanie. Madiskarte siyang babae, mapagmahal sa pamilya, sa kaibigan, raketista.
“Mahilig siyang tumanggap ng kahit na anong raket para sa tuition fee ng kapatid niya, panggamot sa nanay niya.
“’Tapos kung anu-anong mga trabaho na tinatangap niya para ma-juggle lahat para sa pamilya niya," paglalarawan ng young actress sa kanyang role.
Ano sa tingin niya ang pagkakapareho nila ng karakter niya?
“I can say na mapagmahal din ako. Siguro masasabi ko yun kasi gustung-gusto ko na natutulungan ko ang pamilya ko.
“'Tapos nakakapag-ipon ako para sa pamilya ko.
"I guess, kay Yanie, sa perspective niya in juggling, ito yung akin.
“Juggling my own savings and pagtulong ko sa pamilya ko.”
MATTEO GUIDICELLI. First time niya na makakatrabaho si Matteo.
Sabi ni Jessy, “Hindi ko pa siya nakakatrabaho dito, pero I mean magkakilala kami.

Jessy Mendiola goes sexy on 'Isla'
MANILA, Philippines -- Young actress Jessy Mendiola is ready to shed her good-girl image as she gears up for her sexiest role yet in upcoming series "Isla."

Mendiola, who will portray working girl Yani in the newest "Precious Hearts Romances" series, will bare more skin as her character gets stranded on an island with a perfect stranger played by actor Matteo Guidicelli.
"Given na naman na 'pag matagal na kayo sa isla, wala ka nang ibang damit kundi 'yun nalang, so natural naman siguro na unti-unti na siyang huhubaran. It's 'Precious Hearts Romances' eh, romance eh, hindi naman siya basta't hubad lang," Mendiola said on Monday in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
The young actress said that her more daring role on-screen also reflects her maturity as a person and as an actress.
"This one's a whole different project, since 'Sabel' to now, ang-dami ko nang napagdaanan in real life. Gusto ko makita nila 'yung kaibahan ng ginawa ko sa 'Sabel' atsaka dito.
"So I guess in the sense of maturity, yes, I am ready, because first day palang namin na merong ganitong scenes sa project, I said yes already," she said.
'Privileged'
The project will also see her first team-up with Guidicelli, who Mendiola said has helped in making her feel at ease considering the nature of their roles.
"Si Matteo, akala mo una tahimik lang, hindi makikipag-usap, pero when you look at him, magsa-smile siya, tapos siya 'yung unang maga-approach. 'Yun 'yung maganda kay Matteo -- hindi siya mayabang, walang mean bone sa katawan niya.
"Sobrang gaan lang niya katrabaho, aalagaan ka niya sa set, pino-protect ka niya. I feel very comfortable with Matteo, personally and in our working relationship," she said.
Mendiola also said she is honored that ABS-CBN continues to give her leading roles in major projects, her third since her debut series "Sabel" in 2010.
"Sobrang honored at masaya ako na binigyan ako ulit ng show na lead role, tapos 'yung tiwala nandun parin. I feel very privileged lang na palagi nila akong pinipili, palagi nila akong binibigyan ng project," Mendiola said.
Joining Mendiola and Guidicelli in "Precious Hearts Romances: Isla" are actor Matt Evans, who will play Justin, Yani's bestfriend; and actress Jewel Mische, who will portray Megan, Justin's dedicated wife.
"Isla" is scheduled to start filming next week, according to Guidicelli, and is slated for a release later this year.
It is directed by Nico Hernandez and Connie Macatuno.

MANILA, Philippines – “Angelito” star JM de Guzman is currently being linked to actress Jessy Mendiola, who was part of ABS-CBN series “Budoy.”

So what is the real score?
De Guzman said he and Mendiola have a “special friendship,” adding that they enjoys movie nights at her place.
“Ngayon palagi ako pumupunta sa kanya, nanonood kami ng movies,” he told ABS-CBN News.
"[Kailangan] ng understanding tsaka communication, usap talaga, kasi lalo na dito sa work, mahirap. 'Di ko rin inakala at first," he added.
According to de Guzman, he was drawn to Mendiola because she is “responsible” and “independent.”
“At her age, kaya na niyang tumayo sa sarili niyang paa. Isa siya sa mga taong prangka at alam niya ‘yung mistakes ko ‘pag nakikita niya. Andiyan siya para malaman kung ano dapat baguhin. Nare-realize ko naman, ‘wow ah,’” he explained.
Asked about the “sweetest thing” Mendiola has done for him,” De Guzman said: “Just by being herself.”
The actor is set to tackle the role of a family man in “Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto,” the sequel to his hit afternoon series “Angelito: Batang Ama.”
The series will see him paired anew with actress Charee Pineda as they portray a married couple.
"Angelito" also stars actress Kaye Abad, and will welcome actor John Prats as part of its ensemble cast.
The “book two” of the series is set for a release later this year.

Enchong Dee and Jessy Mendion reunited in "The Reunion"
After the breakup of theEnchong Dee - Erich Gonzales love team, Enchong is now groomed to be paired with beautiful actress Jessy Mendiola. Enchong and Jessy are going to be portray opposite with each other in the forthcoming movie "The Reunion".
This is not actually the first time where Enchong and Hessy are going to work together in a project. They have alredy worked as a love team in the series "Boystown", so the title of the movie seems to coincide with the reunion of the two celebrities.
“I'm happy na nagkasama ulit kami kasi nga it’s been a while since 'Boystown.' Naka-partner niya si Coco Martin, tapos naka-partner niya si Gerald (Anderson) and now we’re going back,” Enchong said.
Enchong also noticed that Jessy has improved a lot since their last project. This is due to the fact that Jessy has been working with various leading men and she has learned a lot from those projects.
Jessy Mendiola in the other hand, expressed her excitement for the project specially that she is again working with Enchong Dee.
"One of the boys ako doon, so dream come true na naman ang boyish role. Parang magkakabarkada kami at ako lang ang nag-iisang babae sa barkada namin, tapos may love angle," Mendiola said of her role.
Enchong and Jessy are going to work for the movie with actors Kean Cipriano, Enrique Gil and Xian Lim.
