"Given it's not midwinter in the dead of night, I think I'll wear my usual trunks, thank you." He does also have a shirt for UV protection he might pull on if Garak looks distressed enough, but covering up isn't an urgent concern for him now any more than it has ever been. Julian smiles, then lifts his knee slightly to jostle his husband. "Let's go, then, before the sun sets! Unless you've changed your mind?"
"Ridiculous," he responds playfully. "As if I could ever inspire worry." He rolls his eyes, then kisses Garak's knuckles. "Anything I want?" he confirms, because there's something wonderful in that no matter how much he'd like to think he doesn't need it. "You know, I think I'd like to go swimming." There was maybe two hours of sun left in the day, and it wasn't so far to the nearest lake. "I'll even promise to help you warm back up after."

The very notion that they could enter an orphanage and leave it without at least one more child, even at their age, is so ridiculous that it doesn't bear refuting. Julian smiles softly and entwines his fingers with Garak's. "I suppose that's true. It was especially simple when they were still slow enough to be easily caught and scooped into safety." Those days had been truly wonderful, stresses of early parenthood and all. "At least I'll still have you to worry over."

You know what really scuffs my potatoes? The fact that Julian Bashir’s parents gave birth to a disabled child, and instead of choosing to enrich their kid’s life by utilizing the advanced technological learning aids/tools that likely existed at the time, they decided to dump him off in a hospital for illegal augmentation treatments because they wanted a human calculator instead.
This is why Amsha crying poor about how “hard” it was to see her kid struggle was such a cop out. Ma’am, if you were really upset, you wouldn’t have had him changed into a genius. Getting him augmented at all was bad enough, but they had to insist he be given above-average intelligence as well.

Oh. Is he being set up here? Is Garak preparing to lie to him about his anatomy? Julian perks up visibly, though he tries not to look happy. After all, Garak is hardly going to spin him an interesting tale if Julian tells him he already knows everything. Or if he tells the truth. "Nothing at all, actually." And telling his own lie is a surprising thrill. "Thoroughly wiped, and medical data hasn't been the chief's top priority, in terms of repairs. Are you going to tell me your own theory?"
"Erm." He blinks, trying to refocus. "Not everywhere, no." He can't look away from Garak's hand on his arm for more than the briefest of glances up. "In extremities, and around joints, I suppose." He frowns, then panics and finally pulls back, scooting a centimeter or so as he removes himself from his companion's grasp. "It's part of our temperature regulation as well." Unhelpful, Julian, he scolds himself. "I suppose that's the reason yours are so well-hidden. It would be all too easy to lose necessary heat, were your blood vessels too near the surface."

The way Julian flushes is both immediate and obvious. He ducks his face down to hide whatever mixture of surprise, glee, and embarrassment is revealing itself in his features, and he curls his fingers more tightly into Garak's clothes as he leans in a little more. His shoulders instinctively hunch forward, as though that might let them escape attention, but he straightens them again in only a moment. "Lovely?" Has anyone ever commented specifically on his shoulders before? Certainly not past noting whether or not they could be considered broad (perhaps for his frame, but not in general). "I suppose I'll have to make sure to keep them uncovered for you, then, when I can." It's particularly satisfying, to be able to offer something so simple that he knows will be enjoyed by his soulmate. "Do you see anything else that you particularly like?"
He has to assume that that's intended to set him at ease. It does its job; Julian smiles and ducks his head and relaxes more than a little. "I'm sorry to disappoint, then, but if we give it a few weeks, there might be a little more to see." Slowly, like he's certain he'll be pushed away, he transfers his grip from Garak's arm to his torso, stealing a hug that feels like breathing in warm spring air. "If you let me hold onto you, I'll answer any questions you want," he offers.
He should have questions too, probably. And he does. But somehow, it feels like he's all full up of new information about his soulmate already, like he'll burst if he shoves in any more. So, ashamed of his clinginess and of how much he feels like a silly child next to this man who's meant to be his, he doesn't ask them. All he does ask is: "What are you thinking?"

Julian rolls his eyes performatively, then brings their food, on one large plate, back over. Balancing it in one hand, he settles himself on the arm of the chair, leaning heavily against Garak. "Here, love. The light meal that will allow you to run after me without your poor old body giving out on you."
Julian lifts his foot away from the tap of his tail, but he laughs and wraps an arm around his neck, clearly not upset. "You're planning on chasing, then?" Not an uncommon game for them, but a little unexpected as their second of the night. "I was imagining slow and intimate. writhing around in the sheets. Clutching at each other." He sets his foot back down and runs his fingers slowly through Garak's hair. "But I do love to run with you." He pulls away as though he hadn’t just been teasing his partner horribly, and goes to replicate them a meal of lettuce wraps.

The issue with Bashir and Garak is that they're both such freaks about how they see the other that they could be in a 20 year long sexual and romantic relationship but they still wouldn't be on first name basis. It'd still be "Doctor" and "Garak (affectionate) (derogatory)"

Garak's tongue pressed flat to his neck is an incredible sensation, and Julian breathes in sharply, then closes his eyes to enjoy it all the more. The scrape of teeth is divinely intimate, but the unexpected suction is what gets him to gasp and then moan with pleasure. He clutches tightly at Garak's back, and he tilts his chin up even further to stretch the delicate skin for his partner's attention. "Do that again?" he requests. "Please?"
"It's quite sensitive, but not that way, in terms of pain. Your teeth are unlikely to hurt me unless you are applying quite a lot of pressure. You can bite me, Garak. And if you like, we can test it. Just increase the pressure slowly, and I can let you know when it starts to hurt?" He offers the suggestion with some degree of amusement, but underneath that, his tightly-wound desire pulls taut within him again, and that does nothing particularly helpful for his breathing as he waits to see if Garak will take him up on the invitation.
