Yesterday, a regular Farm-to-Family (Local Fare Barrie) customer surprised the team with gifts of absolutely gorgeous poinsettias.🌱 It was so thoughtful, festive, and unexpected.🌠 I'm the most awkward gift recipient in the world, so I hope I was able to show enough gratitude at the time that they know just how much this kindness is appreciated. 😅 It's my first ever poinsettia, and my houseplant jungle has graciously accepted it into their company. Had the best time checking out @therindandtruckle in Orillia today! What an incredible find! I got some Bufflone Rousse Argental, 5 Brothers Smoked, and Avonlea Clothbound Cheddar cheeses 🧀🧀🧀 as well as salted caramel drinking chocolate and alcohol-free gin (tastes great!!!). Farmers’ Market Food Prices Mean I’m Not a Starving Artist

Food prices are a disaster this year.  No, I’m not an economist (ha!). It’s been so obvious in 2022 that even a book author like me can do the math. But amidst all the rapidly rising cost trends at grocery stores, the same thing doesn’t appear to be happening – at least not nearly to the same extent, if at all – at my local farmers’ market. It's been a while since I posted a @thorntonfarmersmarket haul 🥬🥔🥩🥖 (11am-4pm at Hwy 27 and Innisfil Beach Road), but I had to share this one! ✨Huge half price sale for a lot of cuts at Stone Horse Farm pasture raised pork✨. Got so many deals (as you can see) way cheaper than the grocery store and sooooo much tastier!!!😘 I'm currently addicted to the Italian loaf from PJ's and to the granola from Connie's Kitchen (goes into my yogurt every morning). Check out those awesome purple potatoes from EFT Farms! They're gold inside! As always, I got my cranberry tea biscuits from My Grandma's Farm for comforting weekend breakfasts, and this week my microgreens choice from S&R Microgreens was buckwheat.
