A scene I absolutely need to happen in Dead Boy Detectives (fingers crossed hoping for season 2) is for Charles and Crystal to finally put together 1) the fact that Edwardian medicine involved a lot of Hard Drugs, and 2) Edwin, being an Edwardian Boy, has likely had narcotics before.

For example, imagine the boys get hit with pollen from some kind of supernatural flower and it starts to affect them. Edwin is trying to read his books to identify it but is struggling, so Crystal is taking the lead.

"Oh! Okay - here!" She points to an index of supernatural botany with a summary list of species that affect ghosts. "I just need, like, symptoms. What are you guys feeling right now?"

"I don't bloody well know, it's like- it's like." Charles starts off, but is interrupted quickly by Edwin 'we should investigate this molly character' Payne.

"The sensation is extremely similar to cocaine."

Followed by a long silence as Crystal and Charles absorb this information.

(and the description is helpful because Crystal's rich bitch party girl lifestyle had, in fact, involved coke)
