Jessie laughs when he mentions a reggae banana and shakes her head. "If you insist, Benji. I am perfectly content with any kind of banana! But a reggae banana does sound pretty neat." She pretends she needs to think about having their date Friday because she knows she is available but she still refuses to sound so easy. "Yeah....I think Friday works. I hear they are the perfect days for date nights." She gives him a shy smile and holds out her hand. "See you then?"

Ben laughed, “I haven’t heard much about it.. But I stopped this guy who was carrying a really big reggae banana stuffed thing, and asked him where he got it.. And he said he won it there, at one of the carnival games. So, my goal for the date is to win you a really big reggae banana.” He smiled, ecstatic that she seemed so excited about it. “Well, would your incredibly busy schedule have an opening… Maybe… Friday night? I hear that’s a pretty good time to go on a date.”

Jessie smiles at the little girl and thinks for a moment. "Do you really? If I let you, how am I suppose to pay you? Do you want money, food, dolls?" Jessie isn't really sure if she should trust this. "I just wanna be sure you can do it. Even though you probably can better than I could."

"Bright Lights and Scary Nights?? I haven't been there yet!! I hear it's super neat. And scary. But neat!!!" Jessie grins at him, forgetting she was trying to tone-down her excitement. "I wouldn't wanna run from you Benji! You're too amazing for that." She blushes and looks away for a moment. "When would you like to do this fantastic date? I can be free whenever you need me to be!" She mentally facepalms herself for how desperate that sounds. "I mean....I can pencil you in my super busy schedule."

Ben grinned, his eyes still trained on the floor, but they flashed up to her for a moment. “I know I do. My teacher is amazing,” he smiled at her. Ben could feel his heartbeat all over his body - his ears, his fingers, his knees, his feet. It felt like the world literally stood still as she waited to respond. He let out an audible sigh of relief when she said the date sounded cool, but still, he was frazzled at her nonchalant approach. He didn’t want to mess anything up, but he was about to bubble over with excitement. He looked back up at her, finally able to muster up the courage to lock eyes. “I was thinking maybe you’d like to walk around Bright Lights and Scary Nights with me, and then maybe go to dinner, if you don’t want to run away as fast as you possibly can from me at that point,” he said, chuckling slightly.

Umm, no. I think you are mistaken my nose from your nose. Now that is adorable. Actually, you scream adorable and I'm a little jealous.
As for the butterfly thing....I never knew that was real and I am really glad I do now!
That's my nose!
I would, but it’s just too cute to give back. You can smell with your feet like a butterfly.

"I'm sure you'll be a fast learner. Riding a horse isn't super easy, but you have a great teacher. So it's gonna be fine." She giggles and when he asks her about a real date she almost explodes then and there. A date? A real mother-cluckin' date?? Jessie has never ever been on a real date before and she was really afraid of messing up. Yes. She wanted to say yes really fast and really loud, but she needed to sound cool! She assumes Benji already thinks she is a huge dork but she has to try to rpove him wrong at least once. "Date? That sounds, pretty cool." She tries to put on her cool face. "I'm in. I mean, yes. Not as friends. So cool. We should get on that."

Ben had a few brief moments of panic before Jessie hugged back. What if he was going to fast? Or worse, what if she didn’t see him the way he saw her? His own doubtful voices melted away when he felt her arms wrap around him. “I loved it, actually. You were incredible.” He pulled away just enough to see her face. He could tell she blushed, and he liked it. “Teach me? I don’t know if I could be taught the things you do, especially since I’ve never even been around a horse.. But if you’re offering to teach me, I’m not going to turn you down.” He stepped away from her a little, his hand immediately moving to scratch the back of his neck. He looked at the floor. “Speaking of, you know.. Spending more time with you.. I was just wondering if maybe you’d like to go out with me sometime? Maybe Saturday?.. You know.. As a real date? Not just friends?”

The whole time Jessie was on stage she was thinking "Oh crap, oh crap, I am gonna mess up in front of Benji!" Luckily, she didn't, and when the show ended she was feeling more confident in her performance. She even thought she saw Benji give her a standing ovation, but she wasn't super sure because of the lights. As she waited for him backstage, her nerves started to creep back and her head started to spin. Did he actually like the show? What if he thought it was stupid? She didn't have much time to dwell on it, because before she could even think another insecure comment, Benji was backstage and hugging her. She almost missed his gushing cause she was too caught up in the fact that he was hugging her and oh god she wasn't hugging back! She hugged him back , happy and surprisingly comfortable. At least with her hugging him he couldn't see her turn red. "You really liked the show? It's really nothing! I mean....I could teach you some things."

Ben watched as Jessie performed, on the edge of his seat the entire show. She was incredibly talented, and Ben thought she was completely amazing. He clapped loudly, doing a whistle or two when the show ended. He even led the crowd in a standing ovation for Jessie and her partner as they went back to the dressing rooms. As everyone filed out of the arena, Ben stayed behind, trying to find his way to the dressing rooms. He had to ask a security guard where they were, but he found them eventually. He walked in, all smiles, and gave Jessie a hug, not even thinking about the possible ramifications. “You were amazing!” he gushed, “Like, seriously, I didn’t even know it was possible to do some of those things, but you made it look so easy!”
