#sad! i think it's the ship angle that's throwing people but wangel WERE work husbands #xandelia had their own messy thing going on but i think they'd have to have met again after btvs s3 to compete divorcewise #wesley was raising a kid with him! they had differences over how to raise said kid and angel tried to kill him for it! #wesley still looked for him at the bottom of the ocean. fed him his blood. then dropped him off at home before fucking off to brood sm more #and then for most of s5 he can't even remember what they had a falling out over and angel gets to live with the burden of that knowledge #all the while they work together #wesley's arc characterized by betrayal and guilt and a twisted sense of loyalty now THAT'S divorce #real divorceheads know that divorce/marriage are states of mind distinct from romantic/sexual coupling #ats #btvs
