I finally finished them! Nyo America in 1920s-1950s fashion! More specifically, in suits, so those are the looks that I think she would have when being in workplaces.
I rarely draw full-body images, turns out the thing that would persuade me to draw more of them is historical costumes Lol, and the biggest thing that makes me want to draw this set is actually Nyo America's hair. Her curly hair just resembles soooooo much with those hairstyles between the 1920s and 1950s, which also goes along with historical costumes during those times so well.
and a bonus one:
Tumblr media
another version of 1940s Nyo America, I originally thought the costumes would suit her very well, turns out that she looks either like a school girl wearing school uniform, or a teenager who tried to put on her mother's clothes Lol, which makes sense, since fashion during those time periods are generally designed for older women, so she is still a bit too young(at least physically) to wear them.
individual drawing and related rants below:
Tumblr media
1920s style is very distinctive, it didn't suit her body type, but the young and energetic vibe definitely goes along well with her. I actually don't think Emily was a flapper during the 1920s, she resembled the independent part of a flapper, but I think she was too workaholic to spend much time having fun Lol 1920s America is such an interesting topic to explore, in terms of Hetalia fan art/fanfiction.
Tumblr media
1930s, all I remember before is the great depression and Hollywood glamour stuff, but no one told me that women's suits were soooo handsome and dashing during that time period?? I feel like she walked from an old movie when drawing the clothes. It somewhat felt gloomy and serious, which I feel implied the atmosphere of the 1930s, since the great depression was there.
Tumblr media
When I looked for references and general information about 1940s fashion, it is said that during that time period, clothes designs were added with a military uniform style touch, and I definitely felt that when drawing this. It feels like an interesting hybrid of 1930s and 1950s styles, not as distinctive and striking as those two, but still has its own elements and beautiful styles.
Tumblr media
The 1950s, it is said that it was a time period when American design started to stand on its own, which may explain why I felt that she is so in her element in this look, even if she looks 10 years older than her actual physical age Lol, She looks very mature when wearing like this, but not in a forced way, which really resemble the American 1950s history, since she was becoming a user power at that time.
Overall, I really enjoyed drawing those, it is always super interesting to explore what would Hetalia characters wear during different time periods(with various hairstyles). I may never draw the exact canon design of Nyo America, but I really like the design of her relatively short and curly hair, which really resembles the fashion trends from the 1920s to the 1950s.

More practice and character design,1950s Nyo America this time.
Since fashion in the 1950s is designed for older women, I feel like she looks at least 10 years older than her actual physical age.
One 1920s version and one 1930s version to finish, then they could become a set!

"No treasure is more daring to my heart than you, my most precious jewel, my jewel in the crown of the British empire.
19th century, the empire on which the sun never sets and her jewel in the crown of the British empire.
I finally finished drawing it!!!!!!! Damn, those details were killing me while bringing me so much joy at the same time! Especially all those glittering pearls and jewellery.
Fully explores the historical concepts of the empire on which the sun never sets and the jewel in the crown of the British empire here. I don't know how, but I end up making those two look like deities Lol
I think I got carried away a bit while drawing it, so it came out much more grand and serious than I originally planned. Here is the chibi vision which more or less has the original planned vibe:
Tumblr media
Nyo England be like: Look at me, I have India now. I am the empire on which the sun never sets UwU
Nyo India be like: Bruhhhhhhhh whatever. I'm already bored -_-

It's almost there…! and I almost feel like dying dealing with all those details…! There are like… still thousands of them that I haven't faced yet…!
I honestly don't know how some people could finish big and complicated paintings, I guess I have to be more patient when drawing…
(The final version is finished! I posted it here .)

The line art of 19th century Nyo England is almost there too!
She is a lady, but a very scary one for sure, being the empire on which the sun never sets.

continue to draw the painting about nyo India during the British colonial era. I managed to finish drawing her clothing this time. Posting progress is an effective way to encourage myself to keep going so...
Gosh, a saree is so satisfying to draw, I really like depicting the flow of big pieces of fabric, and my brain just urges me to add more glittering jewellery to her constantly, while I know I will be consumed by all the details if doing it LOL
Overall, I enjoy drawing Nyo India very much, she is such a beauty :)

No treasure is more daring to my heart than you, my most precious jewel, my jewel in the crown of the British empire.
So, it's about India during the British colonial era, and England is being creepy here, as usual during that time, while India is like bruhhhhhhhh
Those two pieces of doodle belong to the same drawing, which I haven't finished yet, and my patience is dying, so many details have to be finished, so I just posted some parts I (almost) have finished first ╮(╯_╰)╭

a little practice and redraw, early 14th-century nyo England. In my headcanon she was still a teenager at that time, probably 16 or 17 years old

Yeah, basically that's my thought after diving into 18th-century and 19th-century English history Lol. The contrast and duality during those centuries are very strong and intense.
Also, These are basically the meme version of this post.
I always enjoy drawing fluffy elegant historical clothing and characters wearing them while doing unelegant stuff like posing for memes Lol

A mother’s legacy. The sweetest, the most precious flower. Black gold.  They are spices whose owners hold them most dearly.
Finally, I finish the spices-themed hetalia/nyotalia fanart stuff! Now they become a set!
The first one is 18th-century teenage Nyo Mexico, smelling vanilla flowers while holding a vanilla pod and shedding a tear, because vanilla reminds her of her mother(Aztecs/Mexica) since vanilla is native to Mesoamerica and Mexica consumed it. The second one is nyo Indonesia and her clove. The third one is nyo India and her black pepper.
I also have drawn chibi versions because why not:

Again, I find out that I have drawn so many Ms England that I could arrange her in this kind of format, so here we go again
Don’t really believe in the historical dressing though, it definitely is not that accurate Lol some details are bound to be not right
More detail and my rant below:
Tumblr media
Basically, those are puritan dresses, which imply simplicity and strictness. In my headcanon, Rose wore those kinds of cloth during the English civil war. Man I fully understand that those dresses is designed to have a strong “women should be chastity and obedient” undertone, since I fully know the historical context during that period. But Ms England could pull it so well that it doesn’t feel like that at all. I think she looks serious and intimidating when wearing it.
Tumblr media
The end of the 17th century and the beginning of 18th-century cloth are so underrated, I rarely see them in historical drama and stuff, but I really think they have their own unique style and are worth displaying. The pull-the-edges-of-skirt-behind-the-back-and-tie-them-together style is one of its own kind, creating a lovely shape that I really enjoy drawing. I always like depicting this kind of big-piece-of-cloth-being-folded-then-droping-natrunally style.
Tumblr media
18th-century cloth always gives me a princess-in-fluffy-fairy-tale vibe, thanks to all the modern adaptation of those dress in all sorts of  “historical” romance movie Lol plus many of them look so extravagant that image Ms England wearing them almost give me a heart attack. I mean, I like to draw her in 18th-century dress, but only through careful selection first. The late 18th century cloth looks very suitable to her though, gotta trying to draw her in that style later.
Tumblr media
Ah yeah, 1810s style! I mean, who doesn’t like the 1810s style? they just look so elegant and pretty. The reinterpretation of classic era dress during that period just looks so beautiful, hitting the right spot. And I think it suits the body type of Rose(in my headcanon) so well, which is a bit slim. The style drastically contrasts the condition she has to face during the 1810s though. The 1810s is a very intense period for her, so it’s almost always an angry and anxious woman in a super fluffy and romantic dress Lol
Tumblr media
Modern time! As I said before, I think she gives boomer middle age woman vibe in the modern era, same as her dress. For some reason that I couldn’t even explain to myself, I just couldn’t imagine her following young people’s trends and wearing their fashionable clothes? Probably because she is tooooooo old(over two thousands years now) and old habits just stick to her? Or because at the core she is kind of a serious person, so she skips the fun-loving vibe trendy clothes?

apparently, I have drawn so many Ms England that I think it's neat to arrange her faces in this kind of format. Man I just can't get enough of her different styles through different eras (as well as those usually intense historical background stories behind them) One thing I found out during the process is that I rarely draw her being genuinely happy. Come to think about it, it’s probably because I think overall she has been quite reserved all the time, and also because history is not a very light and cheerful subject, which means she always has something to worry or grief about all the time, even during time periods people think she was triumphing/profiting

have not drawn anything in a loooong time, anyway here is some medieval age(anglo-saxon era)teenage nyo England playing the Anglo-Saxon lyre and singing some Anglo-Saxon poems. She probably totally forget how to play it now since it has been such a long time.
