i think avs fans, as a collective, need more helpless optimism. we need blind and baseless hope again. bordering on delusion. there’s hope to be found on the avs, no matter what. there can’t not be hope with players like nathan mackinnon or cale makar or mikko rantanen. there’s hope because artturi lehkonen can score at the most timely moment and there’s hope because they can fall back on justus annunen when need be and there’s hope because jack johnson will occasionally decide to be the best offensive defenseman to walk the earth.

hope can be found anywhere if you really look for it. it’s a grim life to live if you deny yourself that.
